The present invention provides a processing device with a high degree of flexibility in setting of preprocessing and which is capable of increasing the preprocessing efficiency, and an analysis system provided with the same. An example of an information processing apparatus has a communication section configured to perform near field communication. The information processing apparatus uses the communication section to perform data communication with a communication target present near the communication section. After the data communication, the information processing apparatus causes the communication section to intermittently transmit radio waves for confirming presence of the communication target having performed the data communication. Based on this, if the communication target is present at a position where the communication target can communicate with the information processing apparatus, the radio waves are temporarily stopped. This makes it possible to reduce the power consumption when near field communication is performed.
