A variable capacity turbocharger includes a housing, a turbine impeller at least partially located in the housing, a scroll flow path located in the housing and encircling the turbine impeller, a first nozzle ring and a second nozzle ring facing each other in the housing, a nozzle flow path located between the first nozzle ring and the second nozzle ring and fluidly coupling the scroll flow path to the turbine impeller, a gap formed between the first nozzle ring and the housing, and a bearing hole located in the first nozzle ring and including an opening adjacent to the gap. The gap is located on an opposite side of the first nozzle ring to the nozzle flow path. Additionally, the gap is connected to the scroll flow path.

Variable capacity turbocharger

A variable capacity turbocharger includes a variable nozzle unit having a shroud-side ring in which a first bearing hole is provided, a hub-side ring in which a second bearing hole is provided, a nozzle flow path formed between the shroud-side ring and the hub-side ring, and a nozzle vane disposed in the nozzle flow path and supported by both the first bearing hole and the second bearing hole. A turbine housing having a scroll flow path is connected to the nozzle flow path, in which the first bearing hole penetrates the shroud-side ring and communicates with the scroll flow path through a gap between the shroud-side ring and the turbine housing. Additionally, an opening of the first bearing hole on the gap side is smaller than an opening of the first bearing hole on the nozzle flow path side.

A turbocharger includes: an inflow passage to guide a fluid to a housing space for a turbine wheel; an exhaust passage to discharge the fluid having rotated the turbine wheel from a turbocharger body; a bypass passage connecting the inflow passage and the exhaust passage; a valve unit having one valve for a communicating portion between the exhaust passage and the housing space, and another valve for the bypass passage; an actuator to turn the valve unit and a stem connected to the valve unit about an axis of the stem; and a controller to operate the actuator. The controller adjusts the opening of the bypass passage by turning the valve unit within a specific range about the axis of the stem when a specific condition is met, and closes the exhaust passage by turning the valve unit beyond the specific range when the specific condition is not met.

Turbocharger integrated valve unit

The invention provides a supercharger which is provided with a thrust bearing in an outer side of a radial bearing, and can smoothly discharge a fed lubricating oil from a bearing portion so as to reduce a resistance generated by the lubricating oil. The supercharger is provided with a thrust bearing () rotatably supporting a thrust force applied to a turbine shaft (). The thrust bearing () is constituted by a disc-shaped thrust collar () rotating together with the turbine shaft, and a turbine side thrust bearing () and a compressor side thrust bearing () inhibiting a movement in an axial direction of the thrust collar. The compressor side thrust bearing () has an oil feed flow path () feeding a lubricating oil to a surface coming into contact with a thrust collar from an inner side of a housing, an annular concave groove () provided in an inner surface of a hollow through hole through which the turbine shaft passes, and an oil discharge flow path () dropping down the lubricating oil reserved within the concave groove downward.
