Light detection device and light detection method

A light detection device detects an incident position of light. The plurality of pixels are arranged two-dimensionally in a matrix and individually have a first photosensitive portion and a second photosensitive portion. The first circuit connects a plurality of first photosensitive portions to each other for every row. The second circuit connects a plurality of second photosensitive portions to each other for every column. The first reading unit reads signal data through the first circuit. The second reading unit reads signal data through the second circuit. The first circuit includes row switches arranged to switch electrical connection and disconnection between first photosensitive portions adjacent to each other in the same row.

A plurality of pixels are arranged two-dimensionally in a matrix and individually include a first photosensitive portion and a second photosensitive portion. A plurality of first wirings connect a plurality of first photosensitive portions to each other for every row. In a second pixel part, as the incident position is closer to the first end, an intensity of a second electric signal increases. In a third pixel part, as the incident position is closer to a second end of a second pixel pair group in a first direction, an intensity of a third electric signal decreases. In a fourth pixel part, as the incident position is closer to the second end, an intensity of a fourth electric signal increases. Position detection sensor that detects an incident position of light comprising plural pixel groups each with plural pixel parts

Provided is a shape measurement sensor including a light-receiving unit and a calculation unit. The light-receiving unit includes a plurality of pixel pairs. Each of the pixel pairs includes a first pixel and a second pixel that is disposed side by side with the first pixel along a first direction. In the first pixel, as an incident position is closer to one end of the light-receiving unit in a second direction, an intensity of a first electric signals decreases. In the second pixel, as the incident position is closer to the one end, an intensity of a second electric signal increases. The calculation unit calculates the incident position in the second direction for each of the pixel pairs on the basis of the intensity of the first electric signal and the intensity of the acquired second electric signal.

A light beam irradiation device includes a light source unit that emits a light beam, a reflection mirror and a driving unit that swings the reflection mirror under supply of a driving signal, and comprises the light deflection unit receiving and reflecting the light beam emitted from the light source unit using the reflection mirror, a light deflection angle detection unit that includes a light reception surface that receives the light beam reflected by the reflection mirror, the light deflection angle detection unit detecting a position of the light beam on the light reception surface at a frequency equal to or higher than four times a resonance frequency of the light deflection unit and outputting a detection signal indicating the position, and an operation control unit that corrects the driving signal on the basis of the detection signal and outputs the corrected driving signal to the light deflection unit.

The present invention is an ignition control system for an engine having at least one combustion chamber and an ignition element for initiating combustion in the chamber. As one aspect of the ignition control, a switching circuit is provided for controlling the firing of the ignition element based upon either a signal received from a mechanism which detects and outputs a first firing timing signal or a computing mechanism which outputs a second firing timing signal based upon the first firing timing signal. As a second aspect of the ignition control, ignition elements are paired and fired together. In this arrangement, the ignition control includes a mechanism for counting outputted firing signals and assigning them values. These values are used to control the firing of the pairs of ignition elements, permitting the pairs of elements to be fired such that combustion initiation in individual combustion chambers corresponding is controllable.

Ignition control for marine propulsion

An improved overheat detection system for an engine having at least one coolant jacket which is drained of coolant when the engine is not running. The coolant jacket has an inlet portion into which the coolant is supplied and an outlet portion from which the coolant is discharged during the engine is running. In one feature of this invention, the overheat detection system has a sensor for sensing a temperature associated with the coolant jacket at an aft part of the coolant jacket including the outlet portion. In another feature of this invention, the overheat detection system has at least two sensors, one is positioned at a fore part of the coolant jacket including the inlet portion and another is positioned downstream of the former sensor, and both sensors for sensing each temperature associated with the coolant jacket. The overheat detection system is arranged to output an overheat signal in the event the temperature sensed by the sensor or at least one of the sensors is above a predetermined temperature.

The present invention is an ignition control system controlling ignition firing timing of an ignition element associated with an engine having an output shaft powering a water propulsion device, an intake system including a throttle valve, and a sensor providing an output signal corresponding to each revolution of the output shaft. The ignition control system calculates a base ignition firing timing from a time between successive previous output signals, determines if a condition of engine acceleration or deceleration exists from a rate of change in the throttle valve position and modifies the basic ignition firing timing based on a condition of engine acceleration or deceleration.

Ignition timing control for marine engine

An ignition arrangement is provided for an internal combustion engine having an output shaft supported for rotation about an axis. The engine has a housing at least partially enclosing the output shaft and including at least one face. The output shaft has a portion extending through the one face of the engine housing and surrounded by the face. A timing pulley is affixed for rotation with the output shaft. A camshaft is supported for rotation about a second axis. A drive connects the timing pulley to the camshaft whereby the output shaft drives the camshaft. A flywheel is affixed for rotation with the output shaft wherein the timing pulley is closer to the face than the flywheel. A first ignition element is affixed for rotation with the timing pulley, and a pulser coil being in cooperation with the first ignition means.

A marine propulsion engine abnormal condition sensing arrangement, specifically a low oil pressure sensor, that is effective to permit a low cost sensor by using a separate power supply circuit that need not pass through the main watercraft control in order to drive the switch. The warning device that is operated by the switch is provided with a separate power supply so that its characteristics need not determine the current that is supplied to the sensor.

Indicator arrangement for marine propulsion engine

The present invention is an ignition control system controlling ignition firing timing of an ignition element associated with an engine. The engine includes an output shaft powering a water propulsion device, an intake system including a throttle valve, and a sensor providing an output signal corresponding to each revolution of the output shaft. The ignition control system calculates a base ignition firing timing from a time between successive previous output signals, and determines if a low-temperature idle condition of engine exists from the sensed throttle angle and coolant temperature. If such condition exists, the ignition control system also determines a compensation value to compensate ignition timing to either the advance or delay side to generally match a target engine speed for a given coolant temperature, and modifies the basic ignition firing timing by the compensation value.
