A miniaturized metal joint body and an apparatus for manufacturing the metal joint body to be improved about strength are provided. The resistance welding method of welding two objects together includes the steps of: clamping the objects between a pair of electrodes; and applying a current between the electrodes while the objects are pressed to bring them close to each other to allow a contacting surface between them to generate heat. One object includes a core member and a plated layer coating the core member and having a melting point lower than that of a metal constituting an outer surface of the core member. The objects are clamped between the electrodes and the contacting surface are allowed to generate heat to melt the plated layer to weld the outer surface of the core member of the one object and a base member of another object together. Disclosed is a metal joint having improved electrical characteristics and mechanical strength. A center swaged part () formed by putting metal plates () on top of each other, cutting the metal plates () along a first to a fourth cut lines (Lto L), and depressing a part surrounded by the first to the fourth cut lines (Lto L). Metal joint parts are formed on cut surfaces of the first to the fourth cut lines (Lto L) because the cut surfaces of the first to forth cut lines (Lto L) are, while rubbing each other, depressed.

One end of a terminal is formed in a tube shape, and a front end of a covered electric wire in which a part of a covering is peeled is inserted to the one end of the terminal, and is uniformly caulked from a periphery. A length of the peeled covering is shorter than a depth of the tube-like portion of the terminal. Accordingly, a part of the covering is received in the tube-like portion and caulked so as to serve as an operation of a packing, thereby preventing a water and an air from entering into an inner portion of the tube-like portion. Further, since the tube-like portion is uniformly caulked so as to be closely contact with the electric conductor, it is possible to obtain a comparatively large contact area, and it is possible to obtain a stable conduction.

Structure of mounting terminal to covered electric wire and method thereof

A conductor-equipped conductive thin film sheet includes a conductive thin film sheet and a metallic piece . The conductive thin film sheet is composed of a conductive layer and an insulating layer . The metallic piece is superposed on the insulating layer and is partially bonded to the conductive layer by ultrasonic welding. In this configuration, when the sheet is wound around an electric wire, noise can be surely dissipated. A shield harness using the conductive thin film is also disclosed.

A flat shield harness includes a flat harness including a plurality of first conductive cores arranged in parallel and an insulating cladding which clads the first conductive cores; a thin film sheet having a thin film conductive layer; and an electric wire including a second conductive core and a second cladding which clads the second core. The thin film sheet is wound around the outer periphery of the flat harness with its ends superposed in a width direction of the flat harness, the electric wire is superposed on the ends, and the conductive layer at the ends of the thin film sheet at the ends is bonded to the second core. In this configuration, the flat shield harness can surely dissipate externally the noise which is about to invade the core of an electric wire and suppress an increase in the cost in the wire harness to be assembled.

Each of the covered wires is comprised of a conductor and a cover The covered wires are connected to each other by ultrasonic welding. An ultrasonic welding machine includes a chip and an anvil. The covered wires are placed between the chip and the anvil. The chip is located with the length of its cross section disposed along the length of the other covered wire The chip and the anvil are pushed toward each other and the chip is vibrated. Friction heat is generated between the covered wires The covers are adhered together and the conductors are bonded to each other by ultrasonic welding.
