A microdevice for multistage-mixing of process fluids which has plurality of freely-detachable units connected to each other without using pipes, wherein a microchannel for flow of the process fluids and a channel for flow of a heat-exchange medium are formed in the microdevice by mutual connection of a plurality of the units and the microdevice is locally and independently temperature-controllable.

Multistage-mixing microdevice

When fluids A and B are caused to flow together from a fluid introduction portion into a microreactionchannel, they are divided into a plurality of fluid segments A and B in a diametral section of the microreactionchannel at the entrance side, and are mixed with each other by molecular diffusion to perform multiple reaction while being caused to flow as laminar flows.

Method of multiple reaction in microreactor, and microreactor

In a micro chemical apparatus, guide walls as physical barriers are provided at a region where fluid A and fluid B as unmixed raw materials and a product are discharged so that, when the fluid A and the fluid B as raw materials are charged, only the portion in which the fluid A and the fluid B are mixed and allowed to react with each other by molecular diffusion of the raw materials is discharged. As a result, only the product is in the range between the two guide walls, and the product can be selectively taken out of the outlet.

Micro chemical apparatus

In a reaction caused by using a microreactor which provides a plurality of supply routes in communication with one reaction channel as a multicylindrical structure having a co-axis and causes a plurality of fluids L, L, Lto flow together in the reaction channel via the respective fluid supply routes, whereby these fluids L, L, Lare coaxially laminated and caused to flow as laminar flows whose sections orthogonal to the co-axis are annular and the fluids are diffused together in a normal direction of contact interfaces thereof to cause the reaction, among the plurality of laminated fluids L, L, L, at least one fluid is constituted by a fluid not participating in the reaction of other fluids.

Reaction method using microreactor

In a microreactor in which a plurality of fluids Land Lare led through their respective feed channels to merge in one reaction channel and react with each other while circulating, a spiral reaction channel is formed by cutting a spiral screw thread on either the outer surface of a round-bar-shaped core member or the inner surface having a circular cross section of an outer cylindrical member and engaging the outer surface of the core member in close contact with the inner surface of the outer cylindrical member.

Microreactor

There is provided a microdevice in which a plurality of fluids L, Land Lare caused to pass through respective fluid supply passages and flow together in one mixing reaction flow path, and the fluids are diffused in the normal direction of the contact interface thereof while being allowed to flow as a thin layer shaped laminar flow, by which mixing or reaction is carried out. The fluid supply passages are of a concentric multiple cylindrical construction to concentrically laminate the fluids L, Land Ljoined together in the mixing reaction flow path, and the opening width near a joining point of the fluids is reduced to contract the flow.

The method for producing an aldehyde or ketone compound from a corresponding primary or secondary alcohol at relatively high temperature within a short time with a high yield including a step (1) of reacting a sulfoxide compound with an activating agent to produce an activation reaction product; a step (2) of reacting the activation reaction product with a primary or secondary alcohol to produce an alkoxysulfonium salt; and a step (3) of reacting the reaction product with a base to produce an aldehyde or ketone; wherein at least one of the steps, preferably the step (1) and step (2), are carried out by using a microreactor.
