An image-capturing apparatus and a repair method thereof are provided. The image-capturing apparatus includes a lens frame to which one or more lenses are fixed; an image-capturing frame to which an image-capturing device is fixed; and a fixing member for fixing the lens frame and the image-capturing frame to each other without adhering a fitted portion between the lens frame and the image-capturing frame. The repair method for the image-capturing apparatus includes destructing a fixing member for fixing to each other a lens frame to which one or more lenses are fixed and an image-capturing frame to which an image-capturing device is fixed, and releasing fixing between the frames; replacing at least either of the lens frame and the image-capturing frame; and fixing to each other the lens frame and the image-capturing frame.

Electronic endoscope

An insertion unit has a channel through which a treatment tool can be inserted. A distal end of the insertion unit has a single-focus objective optical system or a focal-point-variable objective optical system to focus the optical image on a light receiving surface of an image capturing element. At a short object distance from the distal end, an image signal with a sufficient resolution is obtained from the image capturing element. In this state, a treatment tool projected by a reduced amount from a distal end opening of the channel is captured on a light receiving surface of the image capturing element. A required resolution is also provided for a far side.

This endoscope is equipped with a fixed focus image pickup unit which is constructed of an objective optical system, and a solid state color image pickup device in which a color filter is arranged every pixel, the solid state image pickup device fulfilling a conditional expression (300&#x3c;IH/P&#x3c;550), and the objective optical system fulfilling a conditional expression (300&#x3c;Fl/P&#x3c;550) and a conditional expression (2400&#xd7;P&#x3c;Fno.&#x3c;4200&#xd7;P), and an image pickup plane of the solid state image pickup device is arranged in a position where an MTF on an optical axis in a spatial frequency 1/(3&#xd7;P) of the objective optical system at 4 mm of object distance, and an MTF on the optical axis in a spatial frequency 1/(3&#xd7;P) at 50 mm of object distance become 10% or more together.

Endoscope and endoscope apparatus

An endoscope system consists mainly of: an endoscope having a solid-state imaging device and an objective optical system that converges an object image on said solid-state imaging device; and a signal processing unit that processes an image signal produced by the endoscope so as to produce a video signal. The objective optical system includes an optical phase modulation member. The optical phase modulation member exhibits a response of 0.2 or more derived from an optical transfer function relative to a spatial frequency on the solid-state imaging device determined based on the Nyquist theorem, that is, a Nyquist frequency, over a wider range of distances than a depth of field offered by an objective optical system not having the optical phase modulation member.
