A clutch disc consists of a generally annular drive body connectable to an engine side and rotatably movably connected to a generally annular driven body connected to a vehicle drive line. The drive body is formed with a plurality of radially inwardly extending drive side arms. The driven body is formed with a plurality of radially outwardly extending driven side arms. A fluid chamber to be filled with a hydraulic fluid is formed between each drive side arm and each driven side arm. An orifice is formed between the inner periphery of the drive body and the radially outer-most portion of each driven side arm to provide a flow resistance to the fluid flowing between the adjacent fluid chambers, thereby effectively damping torque fluctuation transmitted from the engine side.

Clutch disc

An apparatus responsive to a change in the position of an accelerator pedal for controlling movement of a throttle valve situated within an engine induction passage. The apparatus includes a control circuit for determining a demand value corresponding to a setting of the position of the throttle valve in response to an electrical signal indicative of the position of the accelerator pedal. The calculated demand value is modified whenever the speed of movement of the throttle valve exceeds an upper limit determined in accordance with transmission gear position.

Apparatus for throttle valve control

An internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder block having at its bottom part a plurality of bearing sections; and a bearing beam structure including a plurality of main bearing cap sections each of which associates with the cylinder block bearing section to rotatably support a crankshaft, first and second beam sections for securely connecting all the bearing cap sections and extending parallel with the axis of the crankshaft, the distance between the outer-most side-surfaces of the first and second beam sections being equal to or smaller than the width of each bearing cap section, and at least four cap bolts for fastening each bearing cap section onto the cylinder block, thereby effectively suppressing the vibration of the bearing beam structure itself and accordingly the vibration of the lower part of the cylinder block.

The cylinder block comprises an oil pan installation rail which is integral with a skirt section at a lower part of the skirt section. The installation rail is generally in the shape of a quadrangular pyramid whose width and height gradually increase in the direction from the cylinder block front end to the cylinder block rear end. The oil pan installation rail is hollow. Additionally, a transmission installation section is integral with the rear end of the oil pan installation rail and also integral with the cylinder block. In this cylinder block, engine noise reduction can be effectively achieved while attaining engine weight reduction.

Cylinder block

A knocking discrimination apparatus in which an output signal derived from a knocking sensor is held at an almost constant level regardless of condition of an internal combustion engine by means of providing a control circuit therein for controlling the output signal of the knocking sensor to be held at the almost constant level, and further the above constantly held output signal of the knocking sensor and a constantly settled reference signal are compared with each other for discrimination of knocking, so that such a remarkable effect can be obtained that the reliability of the discrimination of knocking is improved exceedingly on account of a reliable reference signal for comparison ensured by being maintained at a constant level persistently and stably.
