In an apparatus using a semiconductor laser to record image information, an optical filter for decreasing the difference between the rising peak value and the steady value of the intensity of a laser beam is disposed in the optical path of the laser beam in order to prevent any density difference attributable to the difference between the rising peak value and the steady value from being created in the image.

There is provided a recording apparatus including a holder member upon which an image is formed by scanning a modulated beam, a transfer device for transferring the formed image to a continuous transfer material, a transfer material transporting device for loading the continuous transfer paper and a feeding device for feeding the transfer material. The transfer material transporting device includes a set of members which open to accommodate the transfer material, a holder for retaining the transfer material, an endless rotary member which moves the holder through the open members and a control for controlling the opening and closing of the members. The feeding device includes an index and a transporting mechanism for moving the continuous transfer material a distance corresponding to the distance between the index and transfer device. The feeding device also includes another transport mechanism, both transport mechanisms beginning and stopping at different times. This invention provides a cleaning device for an image bearing member which is able to effect a good cleaning without scattering removed developer. In an image information recording apparatus, wherein a light beam is modulated by an information signal to effect recording on a recording medium, there is provided a light beam forming unit, a light beam modulator for modulating the light beam from the light beam forming unit in accordance with an image information signal, an image-forming lens for focussing the light beam from the modulator upon the recording medium, first and second corona discharge members for sensitizing the recording medium, a scanner for scanning the modulated light beam over the recording medium, and an optical system for overlaying the image information signal and other image information with respect to the recording medium.
