The present invention provides a polarizing film or a polarizer that has an elastic modulus of at most about 3500 N/mmand suppresses occurrence of warping, the polarizing film is obtained by adsorbing a dichroic material in a polyvinyl alcohol-based film 20 &#x3bc;m in thickness and stretching the film. The polarizing film has a transmittance of at least 43% and a polarization degree of at least 98%. A transparent protective layer is laminated on at least one surface of the polarizing film to form a polarizing plate.

An adhering member comprises an adhesive layerof a thickness R formed on one surface of a backing, and a linerof a thickness T laminated on the adhesive layer, and has a half-cut formed in the liner for making handleability satisfactory while preventing seepage of contents. The adhering member excellent in handleability and stability is obtained by providing, for example, the half-cuthaving a rectangular or inverted triangular sectional shape, a groove width of 200 &#x3bc;m or less, and a groove depth of more than 14T/15 but less than (T+R).

A polarizing plate used for manufacturing a liquid crystal display with suppressed irregularity in brightness, a method of manufacturing the same, and a liquid crystal display using the same, are provided. The polarizing plate is formed having a laminate of a polarizing film and a transparent protective layer provided on at least one surface of the polarizing film. By heat-treating and subsequently reheat-treating, the laminate has a shrinkage force of at most 8N/10 mm width when the laminate is further left at 60&#xb0; C. for 1 hour, and furthermore, the laminate has a single hue value b of at most 4.6 NBS.

Polarizing plate and method of manufacturing the same, and liquid crystal display using the polarizing plate

A percutaneous absorption preparation for use in the administration of isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN) as a coronary vasodilator into the living body by percutaneous absorption, which has excellent adhesion to the skin and does not cause pain and damage to stratum corneum when peeled off, is disclosed. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer comprises an acrylic copolymer prepared by copolymerization of a monomer mixture comprising a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester and a functional monomer as the essential components, a fatty acid ester having a specified number of carbon atoms, a monoglyceride having a specified number of carbon atoms, and ISDN, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is crosslinked. Since its skin adhesive property is improved by the inclusion of the monoglyceride, release of ISDN is improved and the area of the preparation can be decreased.

Percutaneous absorption preparation

This invention provides a percutaneous absorption preparation for use in the percutaneous administration of drugs for percutaneous absorption into the living body for the purpose of preventing or treating various diseases, which has excellent adhesion to the skin and does not cause pain and damage to corneum when peeled off. Its pressure-sensitive adhesive layer contains an acrylic copolymer comprising a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester and a functional monomer as essential components, a fatty acid ester having a specified number of carbon atoms, a monoglyceride having a specified number of carbon atoms and a drug for percutaneous absorption, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is crosslinked. Since its skin adhesive property is improved by the inclusion of the monoglyceride, release of the drug from the preparation is improved and the area of the preparation can be miniaturized.

A package structure, in which a drug-containing pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet comprising a support, a drug-containing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and a separator in this order is packaged and sealed in a packaging material, is disclosed, wherein unevenness is provided on at least one of the surface of the support on the side in contact with the inside of the packaging material, the surface of the separator on the side in contact with the inside of the packaging material, and the inside surface of the packaging material. The unevenness reduces the contact area between the packaging material and the sheet so that an adhesive, a plasticizer or any liquid component of the adhesive layer is prevented from adhering to the inside of the packaging material. Therefore, the sheet can easily be taken out of unit package on use.

A medical adhesive sheet comprising a support comprising a laminate of a polyester film having a thickness of from 0.5 to 6 .mu.m and a polyester nonwoven fabric having a basis weight of from 5 to 20 g/m.sup.2, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer laminated on the surface of the nonwoven fabric.
