A communication passage for generating braking negative pressure is connected to an air passage for respective cylinders at a downstream side of a throttle valve. An air ejector is provided in a negative pressure pipe, to which communication passages for the respective cylinders are converged. A negative pressure passage for a brake booster is connected to the air ejector at a side of suction gas via a check valve. A passage for PCV gas and an intake air branched passage for bifurcating a part of the intake air from a surge tank at an upstream side of the throttle valve are connected to a driving gas side of the air ejector, wherein a negative pressure control valve is provided in the intake air branched passage. The PCV gas and the part of the intake air are forced to flow into the driving gas side of the air ejector, so that the air ejector functions as a vacuum pump. As a result, the braking negative pressure for the brake booster can be surely reduced to a target negative pressure.

Negative pressure control apparatus for vehicle braking operation

An air-intake device having a noise reduction mechanism includes a surge tank connected to an intake manifold for introducing intake air into an internal combustion engine, an air duct connected to an upstream end of the surge tank and a resonator connected to the surge tank and the air duct. The resonator forms a resonator chamber connected to both the surge tank and the air duct. The surge tank is separated from the resonator chamber by a first vibrating member, and the air duct is separated from the resonator chamber by a second vibrating member. The noises in the surge tank are offset or reduced by resonating vibrations of the first vibrating member, and the noises in the air duct are offset or reduced by resonating vibrations of the second vibrating member. Thus, the intake air noises are effectively reduced by a simple combination of the resonator and the vibrating members.

Air-intake device for internal combustion engine having noise reduction mechanism

An air suction device is provided with an air suction system having at least one capacity-enlarged portion, a compression pump compressing air in synchronization with operation of an engine, a compression air control unit, and a vibration plate which is vibration-excited by air compressed by the compression pump and disposed in a connection passage connecting a discharge side of the compression pump with the capacity-enlarged portion. The compression air control unit controls the phase and amplitude of a pressure variation of compression air discharged from the compression pump, to provide compression air with the pressure variation having the phase opposite to a pressure variation of suction air sucked into the engine.

Air suction device

A resonator is connected with an intake air pipe and forms a resonant chamber therein. The resonator includes a diaphragm, which is generally planar and is disposed between an air passage of the intake air pipe and the resonant chamber. The diaphragm forms multiple oscillation sections, which have different eigenfrequencies, respectively.

Intake muffler

A butterfly valve restricts flow passage areas of a purge passage and a blow-by gas passage by the same degree. A first pressure sensor detects variation in pressure of the purge gas, which is generated by the butterfly valve. A second pressure sensor detects variation in pressure of the blow-by gas, which is generated by the butterfly valve. Since a fuel vapor concentration of the blow-by gas is lower than that of the purge gas, the blow-by gas can be treated as air of 100%. Hence, the fuel vapor concentration is calculated based on the variations in pressure detected by the first pressure sensor and the second pressure sensor.

Fuel vapor treatment system for internal combustion engine

An air intake apparatus configured to combine air filtered separately through a plurality of air cleaners and lead it to a single throttle body suppresses or prevents variation in the pressure of airflow introduced from a plurality of intake paths to the single throttle body. Outside air is introduced to the plurality of air cleaners by a single air cleaner inlet. The air cleaner inlet has a chamber of a predetermined capacity which has a single intake duct, and a plurality of branching passages which branch off from the chamber into the same number as there are air cleaners and are connected to the separate air cleaners.

A wiper device is composed of a wiper blade and a wiper arm connected to the wiper blade, a first drive link having a stationary joint rotatably secured to a portion of a vehicle, a second drive link having a first movable joint and a second movable joint connected to the wiper arm. The second drive link and the wiper arm are arranged so that the first movable joint can move along a track crossing a straight line connecting the stationary joint and the second movable joint. The first and second drive links are folded when the wiper arm is going to turn and reverse its course.
