The present invention provides a ceramic-aluminum bonded body in which Mg-containing oxide having a spinel crystal structure are dispersed in an aluminum member within a range of 2 &#x3bc;m in a thickness direction from a bonded interface with a ceramic member, a segregated portion in which Mg, Si, and O is segregated is formed in the aluminum member in the vicinity of the bonded interface with the ceramic member, mass ratios of Mg, Si, and O between the segregated portion and a position spaced by 10 &#x3bc;m from the bonded interface toward an aluminum member side are within predetermined ranges, and the amount of Mg at the position spaced by 10 &#x3bc;m from the bonded interface toward the aluminum member side is 0.8 mass % or less.

A power module substrate includes a ceramics substrate composed of SiNhaving a top face. A metal plate composed of aluminum having a purity of 99.99% or more is joined to the top face of the ceramics substrate with a brazing filler metal which includes a melting-point lowering element interposed therebetween. A high concentration section is formed at a joint interface at which the metal plate is joined to the ceramics substrate, has an oxygen concentration greater than an oxygen concentration in the metal plate and in the ceramics substrate, and has a thickness of less than or equal to 4 nm.

The hard coating includes a first layer deposited on the substrate, a second layer deposited on the first layer, and a third layer deposited on the second layer. The first layer has a granular crystal structure, while the second layer has an elongated crystal structure. A zoom lens system shifts the position of front and rear lens groups relative to each other in the direction of the optical axis to change its focal length, by moving a lens barrel back and forth in the axial direction. The lens barrel is formed with cutouts in its rear portion for receiving therein parts and elements projecting forwardly from the plane in which an exposure aperture is located when the lens barrel is retracted, so as to reduce the thickness of the camera with the retracted zoom lens. A focal length changing mechanism comprises a fixed cam and a lever attached to the lens barrel which is turned by the cam when the lens barrel moves back and forth to shift one lens group, thereby changing the focal length of the zoom lens to desired focal lengths. To correct the changes in focus of the zoom lens caused by the change of focal length, an adjusting member is provided in the focal length changing mechanism. An encoder is provided in the camera to detect the shifted axial positions of the lens barrel.

An automatic focusing camera is equipped with an automatic subject distance detecting device for detecting which of a plurality of predetermined distances is nearest to that at which the subject lies. A lens positioning member adjusts an objective lens to a suitable focusing position in which the objective lens has a depth of field straddling that nearest predetermined distance detected by the automatic subject distance detecting device.
