Provided are monomers useful for dental materials that include a compound in which a core and a specific terminal group are bonded to each other directly or via a linking group, wherein the core is a Cpolyvalent organic group having a valence of not less than 3 containing an oxygen atom or a nitrogen atom in which an atom bonded to the terminal group or the linking group is the oxygen atom or the nitrogen atom; the terminal group is a specific (meth)acryloyl group-containing group, a (meth)acryloyl group, a Chydrocarbon group or a hydrogen atom, and the terminal group needs to meet specific requirements; and the linking group is a specific divalent group, and when the compound contains a plurality of linking groups, the linking groups may be the same as or different from each other. Compositions, dental materials and kits are also provided.

Provided are adhesive monomers for dental materials including compounds represented by the general formula (1) below, in which the core (X) and the terminal group (Y1) are bonded to each other directly or via the linking group (Z): X(Y1)n(Z&#x2014;Y1)n(1) wherein nrepresents the number of terminal groups (Y1) directly bonded to the core (X), nrepresents the number of terminal groups (Y1) bonded to the core (X) via the linking group (Z), and the sum of nand nis equal to the valence of the core (X); the core (X), the linking group (Z) and the terminal group (Y1) are further defined. The adhesive monomers can enhance adhesive strength to the tooth in dental treatment, and impart high mechanical strength to cured products.

A dental adhesive curable composition containing a polymerizable monomer including a polymerizable monomer represented by formula (1') and defined amounts of an acidic group-containing polymerizable monomer, a polymerization initiator containing a peroxide and a photopolymerization initiator, and a reductant containing a sulfinic acid compound and/or a salt thereof, and a filler: wherein the R groups, n and m are defined. The present invention provides polymerizable monomers represented by the following general formula (1) that are useful as dental materials.  In the general formula (1), Ris a divalent Caromatic hydrocarbon group or a divalent Coptionally bridged cyclic hydrocarbon group, Rand Rare each a hydrogen atom or a Calkyl group, R, R, Rand Rare each a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group, Rand Rare each a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, m and n are each independently 0 to 4, and Rand Rare each independently a Clinear alkylene or Clinear oxyalkylene group optionally substituted with a Calkyl group or a (meth)acryloyloxymethylene group in place of a hydrogen atom.

Provided are dental polymerizable monomer compositions that can give cured products having high toughness and high rigidity, and dental compositions containing such dental polymerizable monomer compositions and cured products thereof having high mechanical properties. The dental polymerizable monomer composition includes a urethane acrylate compound (A) and a polymerizable compound (B) having at least one polymerizable group selected from methacryloyl groups and acryloyl groups, the urethane acrylate compound (A) being obtained by reacting a specific hydroxyacrylate (a1) with a diisocyanate (a2) having two isocyanate groups bonded to a divalent Caromatic hydrocarbon group or a divalent Cbridged cyclic hydrocarbon group via a methylene group optionally substituted with a hydrocarbon group in place of a hydrogen atom, the proportion of the number of acryloyl groups present in the urethane acrylate compound (A) being 10% to less than 90% relative to the total number of (meth)acryloyl groups in the monomer composition.
