The polylactic acid base material () exhibits a sharp X-ray diffraction peak in which a half-width of peak appearing in the 10&#xb0;-25&#xb0; wide angle X-ray measurement is not more than 1.22&#xb0;, and the hydrocarbon film () is vapor-deposited on the surface of the polylactic acid base material (), and includes two layers of a high CHlayer () having a ratio of CHper the total of CH, CHand CHof not less than 40% and a low CHlayer () formed on the high CHlayer () and having a ratio of CHper the total of CH, CHand CHof not more than 35%.

Polylactic acid formed body having a vapor-deposited film and method of producing the same

A biodegradable resin bottle having a container wall () including a biodegradable resin and having a vacuum-evaporated film () formed on the inner surface of the container wall () by a plasma CVD method. The vacuum-evaporated film () includes a first hydrocarbon vacuum-evaporated layer () positioned on the inner surface of the container wall and a second hydrocarbon vacuum-evaporated layer () formed on the above hydrocarbon vacuum-evaporated layer (). The first hydrocarbon vacuum-evaporated layer () has polar groups introduced therein. The second hydrocarbon vacuum-evaporated layer () exhibits hydrocarbon peaks stemming from CH, CHand CHin a region of wave numbers of 3200 to 2600 cmas measured by FT-IR, has a CHratio of not larger than 35% and a CHratio of not smaller than 40% per the sum of CH, CHand CHcalculated from the hydrocarbon peaks, and has no polar group introduced therein.

[Problem] To provide a polylactic acid bottle having a vacuum-evaporated film on the inner surface of the bottle wall, effectively preventing the thermal deformation of the bottle at the time of forming the film and exhibiting excellent barrier property against oxygen and water. [Means for Solution] A biodegradable resin bottle has a wall formed by a biodegradable resin and a vacuum-evaporated film on an inner surface of the wall by a plasma CVD method, and wherein said vapor-evaporated film exhibits hydrocarbon peaks stemming from CH, CHand CHin a region of a wave number of 3200 to 2600 cmas measured by FT-IR, and per the sum of CH, CHand CHcalculated from the hydrocarbon peaks, a CHratio is not larger than 35% and a CHratio is not smaller than 40%.

A plastic formed article comprising a plastic substrate and a vapor deposited film formed on the surface of the plastic substrate by a plasma CVD method, wherein the vapor deposited film includes an organometal vapor deposited layer having an element ratio C/Si of 2.5 to 13 and an element ratio O/M of not larger than 0.5, and a hydrocarbon vapor deposited layer; and the hydrocarbon vapor deposited layer has a thickness in a range of 40 to 180 nm, exhibits peaks stemming from CH, CHand CHover a region of wave numbers of 3200 to 2600 cmas measured by FT-IR, and has a CHratio of not larger than 35% and a CHratio of not less than 40%. A film is deposited on a plastic formed article without deteriorated by oxidation, without thermally deformed or without thermally deteriorated not only when PET or polyolefin is used but also when polylactic acid is used as the plastic substrate.

A filter system for a liquid, which system has a base with an inlet for incoming unfiltered liquid and an outlet for outgoing filtered liquid and a filter subassembly having a filter unit and structure for removably maintaining the filter unit in an operative position on the base. There is a first lead-in port on the base in communication with the base inlet and a first lead-out port on the base in communication with the base outlet. There is a second lead-in port on the filter unit and a second lead-out port on the filter unit. The filter unit further has structure for filtering liquid communicating between the second lead-in port and the second lead-out port. First structure cooperates between the base and filter subassembly for selectively a) establishing communication between the first lead-in port and the second lead-in port and the first lead-out port and the second lead-out port and b) blocking at least one of i) the first lead-in port and first lead-out port and ii) the second lead-in port and second lead-out port.
