An image reading apparatus includes a lower unit, an upper unit, a flexible flat cable (FFC), a GND harness, an accommodating portion, and a widened portion. The lower unit includes a main board. The upper unit includes a sub-board and is pivotably connected to the lower unit. The FFC and the GND harness have flexibility and couple the main board and the sub-board to each other. The accommodating portion accommodates the FFC and the GND harness. A length of the GND harness in a width direction is larger than a length corresponding to a gap between the accommodating portion and the FFC.

An upper unit configured to open and close an upper portion of a lower unit includes: a first reading unit disposed in a medium transport path, the first reading unit being configured to read a surface of a transported medium; a substrate coupled to the first reading unit; a cable having one end and another end, the one end being coupled to a first coupling portion of the first reading unit, the other end being coupled to a second coupling portion of the substrate; and a facing portion facing the lower unit in a state in which the upper unit is closed, the facing portion being configured to be attached to and detached from the upper unit. The cable is disposed at a position exposed when the facing portion is detached from the upper unit.

A medium feed device includes a feed roller provided to a device body and configured to feed paper, a separator roller provided at a position on the device body facing the feed roller and configured to separate the paper, and a medium support section configured to support the medium in an inclined state upstream of the feed roller. A printer includes a cap unit, a transporting driving roller, a power transmitting unit, and a pump. At least a part of each of the cap unit, the transporting driving roller, the power transmitting unit, and the pump has the same height in a height direction of the apparatus (a Z-axis direction) and the cap unit, the transporting driving roller, the power transmitting unit, and the pump are arranged along a direction (a Y-axis direction) intersecting with a rotational axis line direction (an X-axis direction) of the transporting driving roller. Therefore, it is possible to arrange so as to suppress each dimension of the cap unit, the transporting driving roller, the power transmitting unit, and the pump in a height direction and it is possible to contribute to the miniaturization of the apparatus.

Recording apparatus

A printer includes a carriage which includes an ink jet recording head and is movable in a first direction and a second direction that is an opposite direction to the first direction, a gear group which transmits power of a motor to a sheet transporter, a transporter drive motor which transmits power to the gear group, and a carriage drive motor which drives the carriage. At least a portion of the carriage drive motor and at least a portion of the gear group are at the same position as each other in a movement direction (x direction) of the carriage.

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a case; a recording head that performs recording by ejecting liquid to a medium provided in the case; a base portion provided in a position that faces the recording head and has a medium supporting portion that supports the medium; a protruding portion that is provided in any one of an area facing a bottom portion of the case in the medium supporting portion or an area facing the base portion in the bottom portion in the case, protrudes to the other one, and extends in a first direction intersecting a transportation direction of the medium; and a receiving portion that is provided in any one of an area facing the bottom portion of the case in the medium supporting portion and an area facing the medium supporting portion in the bottom portion of the case, and receives the protruding portion.

A recording apparatus includes a medium support unit which supports a medium in an inclined state, a medium feeding unit which sends out the medium which is supported by the medium support unit, a substrate which configures a control unit of the apparatus, and a battery accommodation unit which accommodates a battery which is a power source of the medium feeding unit and the control unit, in which the battery accommodation unit and the substrate are arranged on the lower side of the medium support unit, and the battery accommodation unit is arranged at a location which is separated from a place facing the substrate. At least a part of an arranging region of the battery accommodation unit, and at least a part of an arranging region of the substrate are in the same range in the height direction.

A recording apparatus includes a recording unit that performs recording on a medium which is transported from the side of a second surface which is opposite to a first surface which forms a periphery of an apparatus body to the side of the first surface, a delivery section that delivers the medium on which recording has been performed by the recording head from the side of the first surface, a notch section formed at a corner formed by an upper surface and the second surface of the apparatus body, and a battery which is attached on the notch section and forms part of the upper surface and part of the second surface of the apparatus body in a state that the battery is attached.

A recording apparatus includes an apparatus main body which includes an accommodation chamber for detachably accommodating a cartridge capable of accommodating liquid and a cover which opens and closes the accommodation chamber, a gap is formed in the accommodation chamber when the cartridge is attached to the accommodation chamber, and a stopper unit provided at the cover enters the gap when the cover is closed in a state where the cartridge is attached to the accommodation chamber.

A recording apparatus includes a recording head which discharges ink, an ink absorbing member which receives ink uselessly ejected by the recording head, directly from the recording head, or indirectly through another member, and a vibration application unit which applies vibration to the ink absorbing member.

An image forming apparatus having a print head that reciprocates along a guide rail includes a carriage on which the print head is mounted. The print head is supplied with ink through a tube from an ink cartridge that is arranged outside the carriage. The carriage includes an engaging portion that slidably engages the carriage with the guide rail, an urging portion that presses the guide rail against the engaging portion, and a base portion on which the urging portion is mounted. The urging portion includes an elastic member that is in contact with the base portion at one end thereof, and a wedge-shaped member that is connected to the other end of the elastic member and urged in a direction in which the guide rail is pressed against the engaging portion by the elastic force of the elastic member.

Image forming apparatus and vibration prevention mechanism of a carriage

A connection unit connects and holds an endless belt which is wound between a drive pulley and a driven pulley, and a carriage on which a recording head is mounted and which is reciprocated in a main scanning direction. A holder is formed on the carriage. An elastic connector is held by the holder, and is operable to be connected to the belt. The connector includes a first absorber and a second absorber that hold the belt therebetween. The first absorber is longer than the second absorber in the main scanning direction.

A flexible beltlike member in which a plurality of ink channels are formed interconnects a carriage and an ink cartridge. A first turn unit is formed in the flexible beltlike member, wherein the turn unit is in U shape seen from top. A carriage side holding apparatus for holding the beltlike member in the carriage includes a holder unit operable to change position of the flexible beltlike member from a horizontal position to a vertical position by making the flexible beltlike member extend from the carriage in a substantially horizontal position, by bending the turn unit at center of the U-shaped construction, and by maintaining the bent construction so that a side extending from the bend to the ink cartridge is perpendicular to a side extending to the carriage.
