A simple and compact lens protection mechanism for protecting an optical lens system in a lens barrel comprises a lens barrier member rotatable in a plane perpendicular to an optical axis between an open position for uncovering the optical lens system and a closed position for covering the optical lens system, a neutralizing spring incorporated with the lens barrier member, and a barrier drive ring operationally coupled to the lens barrier member by the neutralizing spring. The barrier drive ring is rotatable in opposite directions so as to drive the lens barrier member through the neutralizing spring between the open position and the closed position.

Lens protection mechanism and camera with lens protection mechanism

A zoom lens device has a first lens holding barrel, a second lens holding barrel, the first lens holding frame and the second lens holding frame, all of which is assembled in a fixed barrel. The second lens holding frame holds a fourth lens group. The second lens holding frame is provided with a hole and a long hole, which fit to a first guide shaft and a second guide shaft respectively. The first and second guide shafts are disposed inside the fixed barrel. A first end of the first guide shaft slidably fits on the second lens holding barrel, while a second end is temporarily fixed to the fixed barrel so as not to move in a direction of an optical axis but to move in a direction substantially perpendicular to the optical axis L. By moving the temporarily fixed second end in the direction substantially perpendicular to the optical axis L, the second lens holding frame can move and a decentering adjustment of the fourth lens group will be made. After the decentering adjustment, the second end is ligidly fixed to the fixed barrel with an adhessive agent.

An adjustment mechanism for adjusting an axial position of one lens component relative to other lens components of an optical lens system comprises a lens holding frame mounting the lens component that has a peripheral locating seat and a cylinder holding and allowing the lens holding frame to rotate about and move along the optical axis that has an axial position selective collar with a flight of stairs. The lens holding frame is rotated to bring the locating seat into abutment selectively against the stairs, so as thereby to position the lens component mounted in the lens holding frame at a desired axial n with respect to the remaining lens components.

Lens position adjustment mechanism and camera equipped with the mechanism

A camera includes a main body covered with a front cover and a rear cover. The main body has a film take-up chamber. The film take-up chamber has an opening in a right side. In order to cover the opening, a fixed lens barrel of a lens assembly is disposed. A part of the fixed lens barrel constructs a part of the film take-up chamber. To back and front wall portions of the film take-up chamber, back and front press springs are attached respectively.

A lens driving apparatus in accordance with the present invention comprises a lead screw rotated by a driving source; a nut plate formed with a female threaded part meshing with a threaded part of the lead screw and adapted to move along the optical axis as the lead screw rotates; a lens holding frame provided to abut against the nut plate while being slidable with respect to a guide shaft extending along the optical axis, for holding a lens; and urging means for urging the lens holding frame against the nut plate. In this lens driving apparatus, the lens holding frame moves along the optical axis as the nut plate provided separately from the lens holding frame moves.

A lens support structure includes a tubular holding frame a flat holding surface orthogonal to a center axis of the frame, and a lens held within the holding frame with a planar part, orthogonal to the optical axis of an optically functioning surface, abutting the holding surface. Since the planar part of the lens abuts the flat holding surface, the lens can be moved in directions orthogonal to the optical axis to enable optical axis adjustment.

There is provided a field effect transistor including a semi-insulating semiconductor substrate formed with a recess at a region in which a gate is to be formed, a gate base layer formed on the recess and composed of one of an InP layer and a plurality of layers including an InP layer, and a gate electrode formed on the gate base layer. The InP layer may be replaced with an InGaP layer, an Al Ga As (0&lE;X&lE;1) layer, an In Ga As (0&lE;X&lE;1) layer, or an In Al As (0&lE;X<0.4 or 0.6<X&lE;1) layer. The above-mentioned field effect transistor prevents thermal instability thereof caused by impurities such as fluorine entering a donor layer to thereby inactivate donor. The invention is to provide a zoom finder which serves to make the size of camera compact and to reduce the mechanical loss in shifting the lenses to vary magnification of field view of the finder. A zoom finder of the invention including an intermediate lens barrel movable from a retracted position to a variable magnification section, capable of varying magnification of field of view by shifting a first lens and a second lens in association with the movement of the intermediate lens barrel, comprises a moving member guided by a guiding means disposed along an optical axis of the finder optical system and interlocked with the intermediate lens barrel, a first lever pivotally mounted on the moving member; a first cam engaging the first lever to rotate it in association with movement of the moving member; a first supporting member for supporting the first lens engaging a slot formed in the first lever; a second lever engaged with the moving member rotatable in association with the movement of the moving member; and a second lens supporting member engaging a cam slot formed in the second lever; wherein the first lens is shifted by both the rotation and the movement of the first lever and simultaneously the second lens is shifted by the rotation of the second lever, which are caused in association with the movement of the moving member, and the interlocking mechanism is disabled with its interlocking function when the intermediate lens barrel moves into the retracted position from the variable magnification section.

Zoom finder

There is disclosed a field effect transistor having a two-stage recess structure formed upon an InP substrate and showing stable device characteristics and a low contact resistance. The FET is manufactured as follows. Upon an InP substrate a channel layer electron supply layers and an undoped InAlAs Schottky layer an n-type InAlAs first cap layer and an n-type InGaAs second cap layer are formed in succession, following which a second recess opening is formed by etching from the surface of the second cap layer to just the surface of said Schottky layer or further to a level to remove a part of the Schottky layer. A first recess opening is formed by side-etching the second cap layer using an etchant of which etching selectively of InGaAs over InAlAs is 30 or more.

A lens driving apparatus includes an intermediate barrel movable along an optical axis of an optical system; a movable barrel, containing a front group lens, movable along the optical axis to retract or protrude with respect to the intermediate barrel as the intermediate barrel moves; and a link mechanism including two links intersecting each other at an axially supported intersecting part, a front end of the links being attached to the movable barrel, a rear end of the links being attached to the intermediate barrel, the link mechanism expanding and contracting as the intermediate barrel moves, to move the movable barrel along the optical axis. This lens driving apparatus can carry out power-changing and focusing operations using a single driving source and driving mechanism as the link mechanism extends and retracts the movable barrel, and the lens driving apparatus can be made smaller.

A camera has a spool drive shaft disposed to project from an inside of a cassette holder chamber, connected with a spool of a photo film cassette coaxially, to feed a photo film from a cassette, and to wind the photo film back into the cassette. A sun and planet gear mechanism includes a sun gear for rotating in a first direction in response to forward rotation in a first direction in response to forward rotation of a motor, and for rotating in a second direction in response to the backward rotation of the motor. A feeding planet gear and returning planet gear are meshed with the sun gear. Two feeding transmission gears are meshed with the feeding planet gear for rotating in the first direction in response to forward rotation. A returning transmission gear is meshed with the returning planet gear for rotating in the first direction in response to backward rotation, to cause a spool drive shaft to rotate in the winding direction. The two feeding transmission gears and returning transmission gear are disposed coaxially with one another.

Camera loadable with photo film cassette

A pseudo zoom camera, which utilizes a film cartridge provided with an information storing device, comprises a taking lens optical system for projecting an object image onto a portion of photographic film, which portion has been pulled out of the film cartridge. The camera also comprises a finder optical system capable of displaying an image of a field angle, which is different from the field angle of the object image formed by the taking lens optical system, in a predetermined region representing an image-recording range. A writing device writes information representing an image range ratio of the image, which is displayed in the predetermined region by the finder optical system, to the object image, the information being written on the information storing device of the film cartridge.
