A liquid crystal display device () according to the present invention is provided with a liquid crystal display panel () and a backlight device () which emits light toward the back surface () of the liquid crystal display panel. The backlight device comprises: an LED substrate () that has a front surface () on which a plurality of LED chips () are arranged so as to emit excitation light toward the back surface of the liquid crystal display panel; a phosphor layer () which contains a phosphor () that emits fluorescent light upon reception of the excitation light; a wavelength selective reflection layer () which is arranged between the phosphor layer and the LED substrate, and wherein the transmittance of the excitation light is higher than the transmittance of the fluorescent light; and an optical layer laminate () which is arranged on the liquid crystal display panel side of the phosphor layer. The optical layer laminate, the phosphor layer and the wavelength selective reflection layer are affixed to the back surface of the liquid crystal display panel in an integrated manner, with a plurality of adhesive layers including a first adhesive layer () being interposed therebetween.

Liquid crystal display device having liquid display panel and backlight device emitting light toward back surface of liquid crystal display panel, and method for producing same

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight device disposed on a rear face of the liquid crystal display panel. The backlight device includes a chassis, a plurality of LED units being disposed on the chassis and arranged in at least one direction, and a cooling structure thermally coupled to rear faces of the plurality of LED units. The cooling structure includes a plurality of enclosed spaces, each of the plurality of enclosed spaces containing a coolant in which a liquid phase and a gas phase coexist at room temperature. Each of the plurality of enclosed spaces is disposed correspondingly to at least one LED unit among the plurality of LED units arranged in the at least one direction.

Liquid crystal display apparatus

There are provided a light-source device which is capable of restraining deformation of side walls of a housing due to heat generated by the light emission of the light source, and a display apparatus. A light-source device is provided with a light guide plate which is placed on a bottom plate of a housing having an opening formed at one surface thereof, and a light source which is fixed to the housing and is arranged to face one end face of the light guide plate, and the bottom plate of the housing has a separation part that separates the bottom plate into a first portion in which the light source is disposed and a second portion in which the light source is not disposed.

Light-source device and display apparatus

A display apparatus, comprising: a light source emitting light; a display panel displaying an image on a front face of the display panel, and facing the light source; and a diffusion section arranged between the light source and the display panel, wherein the diffusion section includes a diffusion sheet-fixed to a circumferential portion of the display panel via a frame body, and facing the display panel with a distance between the diffusion sheet and the display panel, and an optical sheet arranged in a gap between the display panel and the diffusion sheet.

Display apparatus

Provided is a display apparatus having a structure capable of realizing reduction in thickness and border width. The display apparatus has a liquid-crystal panel prepared by enclosing a liquid-crystal material between a pair of glass substrates opposing to each other, a transparent plate opposed to the liquid-crystal panel, and an optical sheet arranged between the liquid-crystal panel and the transparent plate, and has a face smaller than the liquid-crystal panel, where the transparent plate is a glass plate having a wide surface of substantially a same shape as a wide surface of each of the glass substrates, and the display apparatus also includes a frame body arranged between the liquid-crystal panel and the transparent plate, the frame body surrounding an outer periphery of the optical sheet, and the frame body being thicker than the optical sheet.

Provided is a display device comprising a liquid-crystal panel and an optical sheet member including multiple stacked optical sheets emitting light from a light source toward the liquid-crystal panel, which can alleviate unevenness in light even in the case where, for example, light with such unevenness is emitted from the optical sheet member due to warps or wrinkles generated in the optical sheet member caused by heat generated by the light source. A diffusion sheet is provided between a liquid-crystal panel and an optical sheet member with a gap from the optical sheet member. The light emitted through the optical sheet member is diffused by the diffusion sheet and gap, and then enters the liquid-crystal panel.

Display device

A light source unit, comprising: a light guide plate; a light source facing to a peripheral surface of the light guide plate; and a reflection part reflecting light emitted from one surface of the light guide plate, wherein the reflection part comprises: an elongated portion, which is positioned at an outside of an edge of the light guide plate, being elongated in a direction crossing the one surface; and a protrusion portion, which is located at a position of the elongated portion that is away from the one surface, protruding from the position to the one surface, wherein the one surface side of the light source is covered with the protrusion portion.
