An aqueous coating film-forming composition is provided that can be coated uniformly on a silicone rubber surface without causing repelling or coating failure even when applied to the silicone rubber surface at a film thickness of 30 μm or less, and forms an antifriction dry coating film that reduces friction and/or blocking of the substrate surface on the surface. The composition comprises (A) a solid lubricant, (B) a thickener, and (C) a silicone binder in the form of an oil-in-water silicone emulsion comprising (c1) an ionic emulsifier and (c2) a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymerized nonionic emulsifier. Water content is removed from the composition to form an antifriction dry coating film comprising 40 to 80 mass % of component (A), 0.50 to 10 mass % of component (B), 0.60 to 5 mass % of component (c2), and 5 to 49.5 mass % of component (C) (solid fraction). Applications thereof are also provided, e.g. airbag coatings.

Silicone-based defoamer composition

An oil-in-water type silicone emulsion composition is provided that can be uniformly coated onto a substrate and can, upon removing water content, form a cured film with low surface tackiness and excellent adhesive properties to a substrate and film strength. The oil in water type silicone emulsion composition comprises: (A) 100 parts by mass of polyorganosiloxane having at least two hydroxyl groups or hydrolyzable groups bonded to a silicon atom in one molecule, where the viscosity at 25° C. is within a range of 100,000 mPa-s to 20,000,000 mPa-s; (B) 45 to 120 parts by mass of colloidal silica (based on solid fraction); (C1) 1 to 100 parts by mass of an ionic emulsifier; and (D) 0 to 500 parts by mass of water (excluding water content in component (B), if any). Optionally, the composition further comprises (C2) a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymerized nonionic emulsifier. The composition can be used as a surface treating agent.

Oil-in-water silicone emulsion composition and use thereof

Provided is a silicone based anti-foaming agent oil compound that has not only superior anti-foaming speed but also anti-foaming performance that does not degrade with repeated use or use over a long period. The silicone based anti-foaming agent oil compound comprises: (A) an essentially hydrophobic organopolysiloxane with a viscosity at 25° C. of 2,500 to 50,000 mPa·s: 20 to 80 parts by mass; (B) a hydrophobic organopolysiloxane or cyclic organopolysiloxane having silanol groups at least at both terminals: 20 to 80 parts by mass; (C) a silane or silane condensation product: 1 to 10 parts by mass; and (D) a fine powder silica with a specific surface area of 50 m/g or more: 2 to 10 parts by mass; where the total amount of (A) and (B) combined is 100 parts by mass. Provided is an oil-in-water-type emulsion composition which can be produced by directly emulsifying an organopolysiloxane having a high polymerization degree, contains substantially no oversized particle, and has a small average particle size. A method for producing the oil-in-water-type emulsion composition using a vertical batch mixer is also provided. The oil-in-water-type emulsion composition is an emulsion comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane having an overall viscosity of 1,000,000 mPa·s or more or having plasticity or a mixture thereof, (B) a surfactant, and (C) water. Component (A) is emulsified in water by the action of component (B), the average particle size of emulsion particles falls within the range from 0.1 to 7.5 μm, and the content of emulsion particles each having a particle size 10 times or more larger than the average particle size is less than 5.0 vol %.

Oil-in-water-type emulsion composition, method for producing same, and use of same

[Problem] To provide an aqueous coating agent composition (in particular, an aqueous coating composition for lubricating films that contains a solid lubricant) which as a whole is excellent in terms of flowability, applicability, and storage stability and which is capable of forming satisfactory and smooth coating films effective in stick-slip inhibition. [Solution] The problem can be solved with an aqueous coating agent composition which comprises (A) a curable resin in an aqueous emulsion form, (B) a surfactant, (C) solid particles, (D) one or more nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds, (E) a film-forming silicone in an aqueous emulsion form, and (F) water. In particular, it is preferable that the (C) component comprise a solid lubricant. In view of the environmental regulations, it is especially preferable that the (D) component be 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone.

The emulsion comprises: (A) 100 parts by weight of a diorganopolysiloxane having a viscosity of 2 to 100,000 mPa&#xb7;s at 25&#xb0; C., (B) 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of a cationic surfactant, (C) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a nonionic surfactant, and (D) 11 to 550 parts by weight of water, wherein a content of component (C) is equal to or less than a content of component (B), and wherein an average particle diameter of component (A) in the emulsion is 600 nm or less.
