An organic EL display device manufacturing method that allows the reliability of the organic EL display device having undergone a defect repair process to be improved. Manufacturing method for organic EL display device, method including an organic EL element substrate formation step of forming at least one organic EL element on an organic EL element substrate, the organic EL element including an organic EL film, an anode electrode, reflection electrode that form a first conductive film provided below the organic EL film, a cathode electrode that forms a second conductive film provided above the to organic EL film, resin sealing step of providing a thermoplastic sealing resin to cover the upper side of the organic EL element, defect detection step of detecting a defect in the organic EL element, and defect elimination step of eliminating the defect detected in the defect detection step by irradiating the defect with a laser beam.

Organic EL display device and manufacturing method thereof

An object of the invention is to provide an organic EL display device manufacturing method that allows the reliability of the organic EL display device having undergone a defect repair process to be improved. A method for manufacturing an organic EL display device, the method including an organic EL element substrate formation step of forming at least one organic EL element on an organic EL element substrate, the organic EL element including an organic EL film, an anode electrode and a reflection electrode that form a first conductive film provided below the organic EL film, and a cathode electrode that forms a second conductive film provided above the organic EL film, a resin sealing step of providing a thermoplastic sealing resin to cover the upper side of the organic EL element, a defect detection step of detecting a defect in the organic EL element, and a defect elimination step of eliminating the defect detected in the defect detection step by irradiating the defect with a laser beam.

An organic EL display device includes a substrate, pixel regions, each having a first electrode, a light emitting material layer, and a second electrode, and a bank film formed by a laminated structure of a plurality of inorganic material films having different etching rates from one another formed above the substrate to separate pixel regions from one another. The bank film has openings exposing upper surfaces of the first electrodes to the light emitting material layers, and the second electrode is formed over the openings in common with the pixel regions. A side wall of the bank film around the openings thereof is sloped at an angle 10 to 85 degrees (&#xb0;) with respect to a principal surface of the substrate to prevent deterioration of the light emitting material layer and disconnection of the second electrode at steps of the bank film in the vicinity of the openings.

Organic EL display device comprising moisture diffusion reduction banks structure

A solid sealing method of an organic EL display device is provided which effectively prevents influences of moisture and reduces manufacturing cost. A mother sealing sheet () and a mother element substrate () are adhered with a use of a positioning mark (+). A rectangular portion shown in a dotted line on the mother sealing sheet () is a separation line (). An adhesive member is formed in the separation line (), and the adhesive member is adhered to a display region () formed over the mother element substrate (). A cut-out is formed at a corner portion and a short side portion of the rectangular separation line () and a cut-out and a bridge are formed on the long side portion. Thus, unnecessary portion of the mother sealing sheet can be removed without losing the reliability of adhesion.

Organic electroluminescence display device and manufacturing method thereof

The recent invention provide an organic electroluminescence display device with color purity adjustment, particularly white purity increased, without increasing formation processes. For each of unit pixels formed on an insulating film INS formed on a principal surface of a glass substrate, a bank BNK is provided on a bottom electrode BEL being a pixel electrode. The bank BNK has the shape of a bank that surrounds a pixel concerned, for each of pixels, and an organic electroluminescence light emitting layer is charged within a region surrounded by the banks BNKs. Between the banks BNKs, a green light emitting layer (G light emitting layer), a blue light emitting layer (B light emitting layer), and a red light emitting layer (R light emitting layer) are provided. At the same time as the formation of these color light emitting layers, light emitting layers of three colors, the green light emitting layer (G light emitting layer), the blue light emitting layer (B light emitting layer), and the red light emitting layer (R light emitting layer) are stacked on a region of a white pixel to form a white light emitting layer (G+B+R). An upper electrode UEL is formed over the green light emitting layer (G light emitting layer), the blue light emitting layer (B light emitting layer), the red light emitting layer (R light emitting layer), and the white light emitting layer (G+B+R light emitting layer).

Organic electroluminescence display device having red, green, blue and white pixels

In an organic EL display device comprising a substrate, a plurality of pixel regions in each of which a first electrode, a light emitting material layer, and a second electrode are laminated in this order above the substrate, and a bank film formed above the substrate to separate respective one of the pixel regions from another of the pixel regions adjacent thereto, wherein the bank film has a plurality of openings exposing upper surfaces of the first electrodes to the light emitting material layers in the respective pixel regions, and the second electrode is formed over the a plurality of openings of the bank film in common with the pixel regions, the present invention forms the bank film of an inorganic material and shapes a side wall thereof lying around each of the openings thereof to be sloped at an angle less than 85 degrees (&#xb0;) with respect to a principal surface of the substrate in order to prevent the deterioration of the light emitting material layer and disconnection of the second electrode at steps of bank film lying in the vicinity of the openings thereof.
