An illuminating apparatus includes a first light emitter, a second light emitter which emits light including more predefined color components than light emitted by the first light emitter, and a lighting device which supplies current modulated according to a visible light communication signal, to the first light emitter. The lighting device supplies a constant current to the second light emitter, while the first light emitter is supplied with current.

A lighting device includes: a constant current supply circuit; and a first modulation circuit and a second modulation circuit that are connected in series between output terminals of the constant current supply circuit. The first modulation circuit includes a first capacitor that is connected in parallel to the first modulation circuit. The second modulation circuit includes a second capacitor that is connected in parallel to the second modulation circuit.

A lighting device is a device that is for supplying current to an LED unit, is connected to a constant current source having output terminals to which a capacitor is connected, and includes: a transistor connected in parallel with the capacitor and connected in series with the LED unit; a modulation circuit (a microcomputer of a modulator, etc.) that causes the transistor to switch ON and OFF based on a signal for visible light communication; and a constant current control circuit that maintains a current flowing through the transistor at a constant current when the current flowing through the transistor is greater than a first predetermined value.

A light emitting device includes a substrate with a circuit incorporated in the substrate, an interposer having a circuit connected to the circuit of the substrate, a light emitting element disposed on the interposer, a transmissive component disposed positioned to the light emitting element, and a frame body having an opening in which the transmissive component is disposed. The light emitting device further includes a ring-shaped body that encompasses the frame body on the substrate, and a sealant making the substrate and the ring-shaped body tightly contact one another. The frame body is disposed so as to encompass the light emitting element on the substrate. This provides the light emitting device with waterproof function.

Provided are a substrate for a superconducting compound and a method for manufacturing the substrate which can realize the excellent adhesive strength simultaneously with high orientation of copper. An absorbed material on a surface of a copper foil to which rolling is applied at a draft of 90% or more is removed by applying sputter etching to the surface of the copper foil, sputter etching is applied to a nonmagnetic metal sheet, the copper foil and the metal sheet are bonded to each other by applying a pressure to the copper foil and the metal sheet using reduction rolls, crystals of the copper in the copper foil are oriented by heating a laminated body formed by such bonding, copper is diffused into the metal sheet by heating with a copper diffusion distance of 10 nm or more, and a protective layer is laminated to a surface of the copper foil of the laminated body.

Substrate for superconducting compound and method for manufacturing the substrate

A method of manufacturing an oxide superconducting wire which can manufacture the longest possible wire by connecting relatively short wires with each other and is capable of suppressing reduction of a critical current resulting from influence by strain when the wires connected with each other are bent, an oxide superconducting wire, a superconducting coil and a superconducting apparatus are provided. According to the method of manufacturing an oxide superconducting wire by superposing end portions of two oxide superconducting wires with each other thereby bonding the end portions and connecting the oxide superconducting wires with each other, a junction formed by superposing the end portions with each other is so worked as to reduce the quantity of strain on an end of the junction when the two oxide superconducting wires and connected with each other are bent. Each of the oxide superconducting wire, the superconducting coil and the superconducting apparatus has the aforementioned junction, and the quantity of strain on the end of the junction is reduced in the aforementioned manner.

A high temperature oxide superconducting wire is provided which is capable of preventing metal located on the outer periphery of the superconducting wire from diffusing into a superconductor to achieve restriction of reduction in the critical current density. The high temperature oxide superconducting wire includes a high temperature oxide superconductor , a sheathing body formed of material containing silver for coating the high temperature oxide superconductor , a heat-resistant oxide ceramic material for coating the sheathing body , and a coating body which is inactive relative to the heat-resistant oxide ceramic material in a high temperature oxidative atmosphere.

Oxide high-temperature superconductor wire and method of producing the same

Oxide superconducting wire having insulating coat and production method thereof

The present invention relates to an oxide superconducting wire. The wire has a filament made essentially of an oxide superconductor, and a stabilizing metal covering the oxide superconductor. The stabilizing metal includes a silver alloy having at least either higher mechanical strength or higher specific electrical resistance than that of silver. In one embodiment, the stabilizing metal further includes a first portion directly covering the oxide superconductor and a second portion covering the first portion. The first portion is adapted to prevent the component of the second portion from diffusing into and reacting with the oxide superconductor. The first and second portions have different materials, and the first portion is made essentially of an Ag&mdash;Sb alloy. In another embodiment, the stabilizing metal further has a first portion directly covering the oxide superconductor, a second portion covering the first portion and a third portion covering the second portion. The first portion is made essentially of silver or Ag&mdash;Sb alloy. The second portion is made essentially of silver or Ag&mdash;Sb alloy. The third portion has a different material with respect to the second portion.

In a valve operating system for an internal combustion engine, a support shaft supporting a roller is fitted in a fitting bore of a rocker arm, and a pin fixed in the rocker arm engages with an engage groove provided on the outer surface of the support shaft so as to extend in a direction tangential to an imaginary circle about the axis of the support shaft, an insertion bore which extends in a straight line and connects to an inner surface of a fitting bore at a position corresponding to the engage groove of the support shaft is provided in the rocker arm and the pin engaging with the engage groove by being inserted into the insertion bore is engaged with the rocker arm by crimping at least one end of the pin with flat punches so as to be fixed in the rocker arm. The pin can thus be fixed effectively in the rocker arm while maintaining the rigidity of the rocker arm.

Superconducting current lead

A process for manufacturing a wire made of oxide which is applicable for manufacturing a superconducting coil or the like. The process includes steps comprising preparing a mass of oxide having superconductivity from powder material, covering the mass of oxide with a metal pipe, and then reducing the diameter of the metal pipe containing the mass of oxide therein into a wire form by such plastic deformation that exert mainly compressive strain upon the metal pipe. The mass of oxide may be a compound oxide having Perovskite-type crystal structure exhibiting superconductivity. The metal pipe may be made of a metal selected from a group comprising Cu, Al, Nb, V, Mo, Ta, and Ag and of an alloy including these metals as the base. The mass of oxide may be produced by steps including extruding a powder material into a rod shape and then sintering the molded rod at a temperature ranging from 700.degree. to 1,000.degree. C. The plastic deformation of the metal pipe containing the mass of oxide therein may be carried out by swaging.
