A highly unsaturated fatty acid or a highly unsaturated fatty acid ethyl ester that has been produced using as a feedstock oil a fat or oil that contains highly unsaturated fatty acids as constituent fatty acids and which has been reduced in the contents of environmental pollutants, wherein among the dioxins contained, polychlorinated dibenzoparadioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) are contained in amounts of less than 0.05 pg-TEQ/g and coplanar PCBs (Co-PCBs) in amounts of less than 0.03 pg-TEQ/g. Also disclosed is a method for producing the highly unsaturated fatty acid or highly unsaturated fatty acid ethyl ester by the steps of removing free fatty acids and environmental pollutants by thin-film distillation from a feedstock oil, ethyl esterifying the resulting fat or oil, and refining the same by rectification and column chromatography.

Highly unsaturated fatty acid or highly unsaturated fatty acid ethyl ester with reduced environmental pollutants, and method for producing same

A method for lowering content of a sterol in a highly unsaturated fatty acid-concentrated oil in a method to concentrate a highly unsaturated fatty acid by using a lipase reaction, may include removing the free form of the sterol from a raw material oil that includes a highly unsaturated fatty acid-containing glyceride prior to performing the lipase reaction; and thereafter concentrating the highly unsaturated fatty acid in the glyceride by using a lipase that is less reactive for the highly unsaturated fatty acid.

Method for producing oil containing highly unsaturated fatty acid using lipase

A first interface board includes a first signal processing unit that performs a predetermined process on a signal. A second interface board includes a second signal processing unit that performs the predetermined process on a signal. When no failure occurs in both interface boards, a switching control unit selects the first interface board. When a failure occurs in the first interface board, the switching control unit selects the second interface board. When there is no failure in both the interface boards and the first interface board does not satisfy a predetermined degradation condition, the electrical power supply control unit supplies electrical power to the first interface board and prohibits the supply of electrical power to the second interface board. An object of the present invention is to provide a more simplified and more efficient process for producing a highly purified orange roughy oil having high storage stability. The present invention provides a process for producing a highly purified orange roughy oil substantially free of a polyunsaturated fatty acid ester having 4 to 6 double bonds, and having a saponification value of 98 to 113 and an iodine value of 73 to 89, comprising washing with an alkaline aqueous solution to remove a free fatty acid; hydrogenating with a catalyst to reduce a polyunsaturated fatty acid ester; and purifying by treatment with an adsorbent.

Process for producing highly purified orange roughy oil

The invention provides dairy products containing fish-oil-originated EPA and/or DHA and having oxidation and emulsification stability. In particular, acidified milk containing EPA and/or DHA is provided which has oxidation and emulsification stability. The acidified milk is milk acidified by addition of an acid, fermented milk, or acidified milk containing any of the milk acidified by addition of an acid and the fermented milk. The acidified milk contains EPA and/or DHA as a fish oil, preferably a purified fish oil or a fish oil containing EPA and/or DHA in adjusted amount. The acidified milk is produced through an emulsification process. Preferably, the emulsification is performed after a fermentation process of the acidified milk process through a two-stage emulsification process. A food product containing the acidified milk of the invention is also provided.

EPA and/or DHA-containing acidic milks

The invention provides a process for producing 2-monoglycerides (2-MG) or triglycerides (TG), particularly triglycerides having polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) residues in the sn-2 positions, at an extremely high purity and a high efficiency. The 2-MG is produced by conducting alcoholysis of a starting TG with a first 1,3-lipase. Then, the TG is produced by introducing fatty acid residues to the 1- and 3-positions of the produced 2-MG by using a second 1,3-lipase. The fatty acid residue in the 2-posiiton is preferably a residue of DHA, EPA or ARA. The 'first lipase' refers to one which is selective for the 1- and 3-positions and can act even on a long-chain fatty acid in alcoholysis, while the 'second lipase' refers to one which is selective for the 1- and 3-positions and can produce a TG through the reaction of a 2-MG with a fatty acid ester or a free fatty acid.

Vinyl monomers having polyenic side chains derived from highly unsaturated fatty acids represented by the general formula: R COOH wherein R is a C hydrocarbon having 5 or 6 unsaturated bonds, and the derivatives thereof. In addition polymers having double bonds in the side chain into which various functional groups can be introduced can be provided. Useful utilization of fatty acid esters remaining as the residue in distillation of fish oil can be provided.

A synchronization message detecting unit detects a synchronization message from a line signal received from a line terminating unit. A synchronization message processing unit controls whether or not to select a clock reference received from the line as an active reference according to a quality level represented by the synchronization message. In this case, when an installed state detecting unit has determined that the synchronization message detecting unit has not been installed, the synchronization message processing unit does not select a clock reference corresponding to the synchronization message detected by the synchronization message detecting unit determined as a non-installed unit as the active reference.

A unit of the invention is installed in each of transmission units that make up a synchronous network. The unit selects from the clock references received an active reference that controls the operation of the corresponding transmission unit, based on the quality levels of clock references presented by synchronization messages received with the clock references. The clock references, each of which is selectable as the active reference, and their selection priorities are entered into a source priority list. By referencing the source priority list, the active reference is selected.

Synchronization-message-based active reference switching unit

A synchronization message transmitting apparatus employs a synchronization message to synchronize a communication network. If an abnormality occurs in any part of the apparatus or on a clock in the apparatus, the apparatus detects the abnormality and prepares a synchronization message indicating that a frame to be transmitted must not be used for preparing a master clock. An opposite party that receives the frame with the synchronization message will not use the received frame for preparing a master clock.
