In a spoke wheel that includes: a rim; a hub; and a plurality of spokes connecting the rim with the hub, the spokes each having an end portion connected with a connection portion disposed at a lateral surface portion on an outside in a width direction of the rim, the rim includes a raised portion that is raised from the connection portion to the outside in the width direction.

A service brake caliper and the parking brake caliper (hereinafter called P caliper) are supported by a swing arm rotatably supporting the rear wheel. The service brake caliper and the P caliper are configured to brake the brake disc. In the rear brake device of the vehicle, the service brake caliper and the P caliper are fixed to a stay member, the stay member being supported by the swing arm. At least some of the service brake caliper and the P caliper are arranged in positions forward of a vehicle body and upward of the vehicle body from an axle of the rear wheel. A first boss and a third boss are arranged on a straight line passing through a center point of the axle.

A tubeless spoked wheel including a rim and a hub connected with wire spokes includes a rim that has no through-hole and is narrow in the vehicle width direction. A plurality of internal threads are aligned circumferentially in an annular raised portion arranged along the centerline of a rim. A connecting member that is hollow and has an external thread on its outer periphery is screwed into each internal thread. Each connecting member is pre-engaged with a distal end of a spoke in a rotatable manner. Each spoke bends at a position outward from the connecting member, tilts toward a hub, and has its basal end connected to a right or left flange of the hub with a nipple. The spokes are connected to the annular raised portion to narrow the rim in the vehicle width direction. The spokes are rotatably supported on the connecting members.

Tubeless spoked wheel structure

A handle weight mounting structure of a straddle-type vehicle which achieves a simple structure and thereby enables a reduction of variation in the vibration isolating performance and a cost reduction. A fastening bolt includes a shank portion in which an external thread portion to be screwed and joined to the inner face of a handle pipe is formed; and a head portion which is formed on an end part of the shank portion for pressing the outer weight in the axial direction of the handle pipe, the shank portion includes a lock portion which is designed to couple the outer weight and the inner weight to each other. The lock portion is provided on an end part of the external thread portion opposite from the head portion.

A rear-wheel suspension system for a two-wheeled vehicle includes a pair of right- and left-side center frames; a swing arm; and a shock absorber, wherein the shock absorber includes a tubular buffer and a spring, wherein the intake system part is a curved tubular member, wherein a position of the spring is shifted downwardly so that the intake system part are moved toward an interior of the vehicle body by a dimension corresponding to the spring, wherein a lower end of the intake system part is above the upper end of the spring, wherein a part of the intake system part is closer than an outer end of the spring to the center of the tubular buffer, and wherein the shock absorber and the intake system part are disposed between a pair of right- and left-side center frames.

Rear-wheel suspension system for two-wheeled vehicle

A suspension structure includes a pair of right and left cushion units. The right cushion unit is constituted of a compression coil spring and a right damper, and the left cushion unit is constituted of only a left damper having an outer diameter smaller than a diameter of the compression coil spring and larger than a diameter of the right damper. The left cushion unit is constituted of only the left damper and does not include the compression coil spring and hence, the suspension structure can be simplified. Further, in the left cushion unit, the left damper does not slide relative to the compression coil spring in performing a stroke and hence, no friction is generated.

Suspension structure

A rear-wheel suspension system for a two-wheeled vehicle capable of further reducing a vehicle width. An upper end of a coil spring of a shock absorber includes a tubular damper case, a rod connected to a piston disposed within the shock absorber and protrusively provided to be capable of making strokes with respect to the tubular damper case and an external hydraulic sub-tank positioned to be lower than an upper end of the shock absorber. Vehicle body component parts include a connecting tube and the sub-tank disposed to be close to the shock absorber above the coil spring.

Rear-wheel suspension for two-wheeled vehicle

A steering damper device for a saddle riding vehicle includes a tubular damper including a cylindrical damper cylinder and a piston rod slidably passed through the damper cylinder. Either the damper cylinder or the piston rod is supported on an upper frame or a down frame of the saddle riding vehicle. The upper frame extends rearwardly from a head pipe through which a steering shaft passes and which holds the steering shaft therein rotatably about an axis thereof. The down frame extends downwardly from the head pipe. The steering shaft rotates with a bottom bridge. The tubular damper is disposed such that an axis thereof is disposed on a vehicle width direction central plane. The tubular damper extends or contracts as the bottom bridge rotates. The tubular damper extends or contracts within a space between the upper frame and the down frames in a side view.

Steering damper device for saddle riding vehicle

A steering apparatus for a vehicle includes a stem pipe disposed in a head pipe by upper and lower bearings interposed therebetween, a seal member for covering the upper bearing, and bottom and top bridges mounted on lower and upper ends of the stem pipe, respectively. A single fastening bolt, having a step formed between a head and a threaded surface thereof, is fitted in a pipe insertion hole of the top bridge and the upper threaded portion of the stem pipe. The stem pipe is firmly tightened and supported by a stem pipe slot-tightening mechanism of the top bridge. The fastening bolt is tightened by only a tightening force required to keep the fastening bolt from loosening. Also, a number of components required for the inventive steering apparatus is reduced, since an additional component, previously used for preventing loosening of a fastening bolt, is made unnecessary.

Steering apparatus for a vehicle

A front fork for easily optimizing an oil quantity in a damper cylinder with a relatively simple structure without affecting operability of a free piston even in an assembled state. An escape portion is formed on an outer periphery of a piston rod at a position where a seal member mounted on a sealing cap faces in an opposed manner when a front fork extends to the maximum.

Vehicle apparatus for a vehicle including a chain guide device which can be easily mounted to the vehicle with a reduced number of parts. The chain, guide device for guiding a chain in the vehicle includes a main frame and a rear swing arm extending rearward from the main frame. The chain guide device also includes a stay extending downward from the rear swing arm, a sectionally U-shaped plate member fastened to the stay using fastening members, and a chain guide member mounted in the plate member. The chain guide member has a chain guide hole through which the chain passes through to be guided. The chain guide member is fixed by fitting the lower surface and the right and left side surfaces of the chain guide member to the plate member and by fitting the upper surface of the chain guide member to the stay.

Vehicle apparatus having a chain guide device

A chain guide, including a chain guide member and a guide holder, in which deformation and/or scarring of the guide holder can be controlled, and which is easy to assemble and disassemble, is described. The position of a front end of the guide holder is brought in contact with a flange provided at the front end of the chain guide member. Left and right side surfaces of the chain guide member are formed on the backside of the flange. The leading edge of the front end of the guide holder abuts and confronts the left and right side surface of the backside of the flange of the chain guide member so that a chain entering the chain guide contacts the chain guide member rather than the guide holder. A method of manufacturing the guide holder is presented.

Chain guide

A tubeless-tire spoke wheel with spokes threaded directly into integral bores of the wheel rim. The integral bores have closed ends which allow for a large degree of tubeless-tire design flexibility while also providing enhanced strength characteristics. This results in stiffer, stronger designs while providing for lighter, more energy efficient wheels.

In a steering damper device, a rotary damper includes a damper case, a rotary shaft rotatably supported on the case, and an actuation lever connected to the rotary shaft; the damper case is mounted to a steering side member; and a tip end of the actuation lever is connected to a frame side member. One end of a control lever is connected to the frame side member via a first pivot. A tip end of the actuation lever is connected to the other end of the lever via a second pivot. The first and second pivots are arranged so that a line connecting the centers of the first and second pivots is substantially intersected by an axis of a steering stem at a steering angle of 0&#xb0;. Thus, the steering damper device can obtain desired characteristics while using a rotary damper with a simple structure.
