A driving mechanism controller included in a capturing device causes one or more driving mechanisms to spread a tethering member having an elongated shape to the outside of a housing by a target spread length. The driving mechanism controller, when an artificial space object is located in the area surrounded by the tethering member, causes the one or more driving mechanisms to retract the tethering member to the inside of the housing until at least a part of the tethering member comes into contact with the artificial space object. The tethering member is stable in a first shape having a curved section orthogonal to a linear extending direction of the tethering member.

A reaction compensation device includes a drive mechanism driving a first movable part with respect to a base, a reaction mass drive mechanism driving a second movable part with respect to the base; and a first relative position sensor measuring a relative position between the first movable part and the base. There is also a second relative position sensor measuring a relative position between the second movable part and the base, a first control system controlling the drive mechanism by taking in a signal outputted from the first relative position sensor as a feedback signal in response to a command value, and a second control system correcting the command value using a correction parameter for adjusting a difference between mass properties of the drive mechanism and reaction mass drive mechanism and for controlling the reaction mass drive mechanism.

Parallel laser light beams are irradiated from different positions into a telescope. Beams of laser light are incident on a secondary minor attitude detection minor from different locations. Laser light detectors detect each beam of laser light reflected by the secondary minor attitude detection minor. A first attitude calculator determines an amount of attitude variation of a secondary minor based on a result detected by the laser light detectors. The laser light detectors detect each beam of the laser light reflected by the primary minor and the secondary minor after entering the telescope. A second attitude calculator determines an amount of attitude variation of the primary minor based on a result detected by the laser light detectors and the result detected by the laser light detectors.

Orientation variation measurement system, satellite, and orientation variation measurement method

A pointing axis estimation apparatus capable of removing pointing axis variations caused by factors other than pointing axis variations of a telescope, thereby estimating true pointing axis variations of the telescope. The pointing axis estimation apparatus includes: a laser light source-unit attitude detector for calculating translational and rotational displacements of a laser light source unit; an optical axis detection-unit attitude detector for calculating translational and rotational displacements of an optical axis detection unit; a pointing axis calculator for calculating a pointing axis based on information from an optical axis variation detector; and a pointing axis variation estimator for calculating a true pointing axis variation of a telescope based on displacement data output from the detectors and the calculator.
