A sensor unit includes a bus bar and a magneto-electric conversion device. The bus bar connects a plurality of switch elements constituting a part of a power conversion circuit and a motor. The magneto-electric conversion device is disposed to face a middle portion of the bus bar across a clearance in a predetermined direction to detect a magnetic field caused by an electric current flowing through the bus bar, to thereby detects the electric current. The bus bar includes a first end and a second end. The first end of the bus bar is connected to one of a switch terminal extending from the switch elements and a motor terminal extending from the motor, and the second end of the bus bas is connected to the other of the switch terminal and the motor terminal.

Sensor unit

In a power converter, busbars are connected to respective power terminals. The power terminals include at least one narrow power terminal. The at least one narrow power terminal includes a first portion having a first thermal resistance and a first rigidity, and a second portion having a second thermal resistance and a second rigidity, the second thermal resistance being higher than the first thermal resistance, the second rigidity being smaller than the first rigidity.

Power converter

An exhaust gas purifying system for a diesel engine has an ECU, a passage of exhaust gas, a unit having SCR catalyst, a NOx sensor placed at a downstream side of the unit, and a urea water adding valve placed at an upstream side of the unit. The SCR catalyst in the unit selectively adsorbs ammonia, and selectively purifies NOx contained in an exhaust gas emitted from the diesel engine by the adsorbed ammonia. The ECU changes the urea water adding amount, and performs abnormality diagnosis based on the detection result of the NOx sensor while changing an adding amount of the urea water. The ECU uses a first condition to indicate the presence of an excess NOx amount in the exhaust gas, and a second condition to indicate there is no error cause by the ammonia adsorption on the SCR catalyst.

Exhaust gas purifying device for internal combustion engine

A method is disclosed for estimating an amount of deposited particulates (PM) in a collector of an internal combustion engine. The method includes estimating the amount of inflow of PM into the collector and estimating a basic amount of decreased PM that flows into the collector and is burned and decreased. The method also includes estimating the amount of ash deposited on the collector. The method further includes correcting the basic amount of decreased PM based on the estimated amount of ash. Moreover, the method includes estimating an amount of deposited PM by a history expression based on the estimated amount of inflow of PM and the corrected amount of decreased PM. A related device is also disclosed.

Exhaust emission control device for internal combustion engine

A diagnostic apparatus monitors a pressure difference detection apparatus that detects the pressure difference across an engine exhaust gas cleansing device in an exhaust gas system, with the diagnostic apparatus recognizing a condition of impeded transfer of gas between the pressure difference detection apparatus and the exhaust gas system, based upon a manner of convergence of successive detected pressure difference values that are produced by the pressure difference detection apparatus following a change in the exhaust gas flow rate.

Apparatus for diagnosing abnormal operation of pressure difference detection apparatus of internal combustion engine exhaust system

An exhaust gas cleaning device estimates a deposition amount of exhaust particulate matters in a collector based on deposition characteristics correlating the deposition amount with a pressure loss at the collector. The deposition characteristics define a first range from an initial point, at which the deposition amount is zero, to a transitional point and a second range over the transitional point. The pressure loss increases more gradually in the second range than in the first range as the deposition amount increases. The exhaust gas cleaning device corrects the deposition characteristics such that the transitional point approaches the initial point, the pressure loss at the initial point increases and an increase ratio of the pressure loss to the increase of the deposition amount in the second range increases as an ash deposition amount increases.

Exhaust gas cleaning device for internal combustion engine

An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for a diesel engine has a filter provided in an exhaust pipe of the engine for trapping diesel particulates contained in exhaust gas. The filter is re-generated when an accumulated amount of the diesel particulates exceeds a predetermined value. An electronic control unit estimates the accumulated amount of the diesel particulates from a pressure loss at the filter, based on an accumulation characteristic in which the pressure loss is related to the accumulated amount of the diesel particulates, and corrects the accumulation characteristic depending on flow velocity of the exhaust gas.

An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a collector, which collects exhaust particles in exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas purifying apparatus computes an amount of a predetermined gas component in the exhaust gas, which passes through the collector. The exhaust gas purifying apparatus computes a collected amount of the exhaust particles based on a pressure difference across the collector, based on a temperature of the exhaust gas, which passes through the collector, and based on the amount of the predetermined gas component. The exhaust gas purifying apparatus regenerates the collector by burning the exhaust particles collected in the collector when the collected amount reaches a predetermined value.

Exhaust gas purifying apparatus for internal combustion engine and method for estimating collected amount of exhaust particles

In an exhaust emission control system for a vehicular internal combustion engine, a particulate filter collects particulate matters in an exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine. A filter regenerator regenerates the particulate filter by burning the particulate matters accumulated in the particulate filter. A filter front clogging detector determines whether a front end portion of the particulate filter is clogged by the particulate matters. A filter regeneration controller that controls the filter regenerator to perform a front regeneration to remove the particulate matters accumulated in the front end portion of the particulate filter when the filter front clogging detector determines that the front end portion of the particulate filter is clogged.

Exhaust emission control system for internal combustion engine

An exhaust gas purification system determines a deposited state of particulate matters based on a differential pressure across a diesel particulate filter (DPF) sensed by a differential pressure sensor. An electronic control unit (ECU) of the system prohibits the determination of the deposited state of the particulate matters, which is performed based on the differential pressure, when uniformity of temperature distribution inside the DPF is low. The ECU estimates temperatures at multiple points inside the DPF distant from an inlet along a direction of a flow of exhaust gas based on the temperature at the inlet sensed by an exhaust gas temperature sensor disposed immediately upstream of the DPF. The ECU determines the uniformity of the temperature distribution inside the DPF based on a range of the temperatures at the multiple points.

Exhaust gas purification system of internal combustion engine

A diesel particulate filter (DPF) for trapping exhaust particulates is located in an exhaust passage of a diesel engine. Deposit amounts of a soluble organic fraction (SOF) as an organic solvent soluble component and soot as a solid carbon component of exhaust particulate components deposited in the DPF are estimated respectively. When the SOF deposit amount reaches an SOF elimination execution deposit amount, the DPF is heated to or over relatively low SOF combustion temperature to execute SOF elimination treatment. When the soot deposit amount reaches a soot elimination execution deposit amount, the DPF is heated to or over relatively high soot combustion temperature to execute soot elimination treatment. The SOF elimination treatment is executed before the SOF becomes excessive to prevent rapid combustion of the soot due to combustion of the SOF.

Exhaust gas purification device of internal combustion engine

In an exhaust gas purifying apparatus for a diesel engine having a diesel particulate filter provided in an exhaust pipe, a pressure loss at the filter is detected. An accumulated amount of diesel particulates in the filter is calculated based on the pressure loss and a map for a relationship between the pressure loss and the accumulated amount. A compulsory re-generating operation is carried out when the calculated accumulated amount reaches at a predetermined threshold value, which is decreased to a smaller value depending on a combustion amount of the diesel particulates which are combusted and removed from the filter as a natural re-generating operation.

Exhaust gas purifying system for internal combustion engine

An electronic control unit (ECU) of an internal combustion engine calculates a present deposition quantity of exhaust particulate matters based on operating states of the engine such as a differential pressure of a diesel particulate filter (DPF). If the present deposition quantity exceeds a predetermined upper limit value, the ECU performs compulsory regeneration of the DPF to compulsorily combust and reduce the deposited exhaust particulate matters. The ECU determines that spontaneous regeneration occurs if a temperature of exhaust gas in the DPF is equal to or higher than a reference temperature. Thereafter, the ECU completes the compulsory regeneration to eliminate the deposited exhaust particulate matters if the ECU determines that the spontaneous regeneration stops and the deposition quantity becomes equal to or less than a predetermined lower limit value.

An exhaust gas purifying device for an engine includes a particulate filter midway in an exhaust passage for collecting particulate matters. A control means calculates an accumulating amount of particulate matters on the particulate filter. An accumulating amount calculating means calculates the accumulating amount in accordance with an accumulating characteristic and differential pressure of the particulate filter detected using a differential pressure detecting means. When the accumulating amount becomes a predetermined regeneration demand amount, the control means performs a forcible regeneration, in which particulate matters on the particulate filter are burned and removed to regenerate the particulate filter.

To prevent the deterioration of catalyst or the damage of a particulate filter caused by the rapid temperature rise of the particulate filter when the abrupt deceleration of an engine occurs, and avoid the deterioration of fuel consumption by depositing a large PM in the particulate filter and regenerating the same at once. A heat-absorbing areais provided by forming a deeply clogged structure at the exhaust gas flowing-out side end of the particular filterdisposed in an exhaust pipeof an internal combustion engine E. As the heat-absorbing area has a heat capacity larger than that in the other portions, the combustion heat is absorbed and dispersed even if the rapid chain reaction of PM combustion occurs, whereby it is possible to suppress the temperature rise of the downstream portion of the particulate filter liable to be high in temperature.
