A coaxial cable connector plug includes a connector body having the end of a coaxial cable fixed therein and a housing having an insertion hole to accommodate the connector body. The housing has a cantilever-like engagement nail extending in the insertion hole, thereby permitting the connector body to be caught by a frusto-conical transition in the insertion hole. The housing has a catch hole made in the vicinity of the cable-inlet of the housing. When a wedge-like retainer is inserted into the remaining space between the connector body and the floor of the housing, the wedge-like retainer is caught by the hook end, thus filling the remaining space and making the coaxial cable tightly retained in the housing. With this arrangement, the connector body can be removed from the housing so as to be reused.

Coaxial cable connector plug

A connector receptacle has an outer conductor inserted in its housing, the outer conductor having an insulator inserted in its inner space, and the insulator having a terminal piece embedded therein for connecting with a counter part. The housing has a longitudinal slot made therein, and the outer conductor includes a split conductor body having two opposite flap projections formed on its joint edges. The conductor body is inserted in the housing with the opposite flap projections press-fitted in the slot. This arrangement assures that complete shielding is provided and that the receptacle parts are tightly assembled.

Connector receptacle providing good shielding and a tight connection

A spring mechanism (,) is provided at a portion of a connector housing (,). The spring mechanism (,) includes an insertion port (,), a retaining projection (,) and a leaf spring (9) retained by the retaining projection (,). A spring holder (,) for resiliently deforming the leaf spring (,), is provided at a terminal portion (,) to be received in a receiving portion (,). As a result, the whole of the terminal portion (,) is urged by the leaf spring (,), and a resilient-retaining piece portion (,), provided at the terminal portion (,), is retainingly engaged in a retaining portion (,) formed at the receiving portion (,), thereby eliminating a clearance between the connector housing and the terminal portion.

Retaining structure of connector

A shielded connector having a rear opening for putting a shielded wire through is provided with a shielding terminal that is capable of being closed about the wire at the rear opening so as to improve the electrical shield. The shielded connector includes: an inner terminal connected to an inner conductor of a shielded wire having a shielding member; an inner housing to accommodate the inner terminal; a shielding terminal to cover the inner housing and to be connected to the shielding member of the shielded wire; an outer housing to accommodate the shielding terminal; a lid member provided at a rear opening of the shielding terminal and integrally connected therewith through a hinge; and a pressure contact portion formed on the lid member so as to press the shielding member of the shielded wire, wherein the inner terminal is electrically shielded. The shielded connector further includes a spacer having an engaging plate to lock the shielding terminal to the outer housing, which engaging plate has a pressing portion to press the lid member on the shielding member of the shielded wire.

Shielded connector

A connector connecting structure in which the manipulation of an operating member for effecting a fitting operation and a disconnecting operation can be effected by one motion. A pair of moving members, which are movable in a direction perpendicular to a connector-inserting direction, is mounted on a female connector. An operating member, which can be displaced between a preset position and a set position in accordance with the movement of the moving members, is mounted on the female connector. Guide grooves are formed in the moving members, and cam pins are formed on a male connector. The guide grooves and cam pins jointly constitute a cam unit. During a connector-inserting process from an insertion start position to a provisionally-fitted position, the moving members are moved by the cam grooves and cam pins of the cam unit so as to displace the operating member from the set position to the preset position, and during the connector-inserting process from the provisionally-fitted position to a completely-fitted position, the operating member is turned from the preset position to the set position so as to move the moving members through the cam unit, thereby drawing the male connector into the completely-fitted position.

Connector connecting structure

A female connector is provided with a first moving member and a second moving member which are capable of moving independently of each other, and the female connector is further provided with an operating member which is rotatable. The operating member is provided with a pair of first cam grooves whose spiral groove shapes are formed oppositely, while the first and second moving members are provided with first cam pins which are respectively inserted in the pair of first cam grooves. As the operating member is rotated, the first and second moving members are moved in mutually opposite directions. The first and second moving members are each provided with a pair of second cam grooves whose angles of inclination are opposite, while a male connector is provided with second cam pins which are inserted in the second cam grooves. As the first and second moving members are moved in the mutually opposite directions, a moving force acting in a connector-inserting direction is applied to the male connector through the cooperative movement of the first and second moving members.

Connector mating structure

In the connection between a terminal of an electric automobile and a covered wire, a rubber plug fitted on the wire and disposed between the terminal and the wire is properly positioned, thereby not only enhancing the efficiency of the assembling operation but also reducing damage to the rubber plug. The rubber plug has at its inner peripheral surface a retaining step against which an end surface of an insulative sheath of a covered wire abuts. A terminal has a wire connection portion defined by one end portion thereof, and an engagement hole is formed in this wire connection portion. An abutment shoulder against which a front end 10c of the rubber plug is adapted to abut is formed at the engagement hole. Conductors of the covered wire and the front end portion of the rubber plug are inserted into the engagement hole, and then are compressed from the outer side.

Waterproof connector

An electrical connector includes a housing having terminal chambers, terminals which are inserted into the chambers, and a terminal engagement holder provided with a locking anchor for an engagement portion of the housing in order to be assembled with the housing by two-steps of manipulation, which are a step of tentatively engaging the holder with the housing, and the other step of thereafter engaging the holder with the housing on a full scale. The locking anchor functions to urge the holder toward the housing while the holder is in the full-scale engagement with the rear portion of the housing, so that the holder can be surely engaged with the housing on the full scale even if the rear end of each of the terminals is located slightly behind a prescribed position.

Electrical connector

Disclosure is a locking mechanism for connectors which are engaged with each other, which prevents the connectors from being insufficiently engaged by inertial locking, and allows the connectors to be engaged or disengaged with ease. The locking mechanism for male and female electrical connectors which are engaged with each others, a guide frame mounted on the upper wall of a male connector housing includes a slide piece which is slidably provided between the upper wall and the guide frame, and a locking spring. One end portion of the locking spring is fixedly secured to the guide frame, and the other end portion is positioned above the front end portion of the slide piece when the latter is at the forward position, and in front of the front end portion when the slide piece is at the backward position. The locking section of the male connector housing and the engaging section of the slide piece hold the slide piece in position. The female connector housing has a connector receiving section. When the two connector housings are engaged with each other, the locking spring is brought in slide contact with the protrusion formed at the connector receiving section.

Connector assembly's locking mechanism

A watertight electric connector has a male connector housing, a female connector housing to be mated with the male connector housing, a ring-shaped packing in close contact with an outer wall of the male connector housing, and a slidable protection cover disposed so as to cover the periphery of the packing. The protection cover protects the packing when the connector housings are not mated with each other, and is moved backward by the pressure of the female connector housing when the connector housings are mated. The slidable protection cover has a mechanism capable of making the watertight connector compact, simplifying the handling of the connector, assuring protection of the packing, and enhancing reliability of waterproofing.

Watertight electric connector

In a pair of male and female connectors, which male connector includes flat plate-like electric contact portion and which female connector includes a tubular body, an electric contact part bent at an obtuse angle, projecting from the tubular body such that the part is located inside of the tubular body, and an electric contact projection provided on said tubular body such that the projection is opposed to a top of the electric contact part, the electric contact portion, the electric contact part and the electric contact projection are coated with a mixture of Teflon and a powder of tin, nickel or the like for the purpose of reducing an insertion force of the male connector into the female connector.

Method of manufacturing a pair of terminals having a low friction

An electric connector requiring decreased insertion and withdrawal force, even when including groups of 20 to 40 terminals. The connector includes a male portion, a female portion into which the male portion fits, and a cam mechanism. With the cam mechanism, the male casing fitted in a covering portion of the female casing may be slid horizontally between its original fitting position and a male and female terminal contact position, parallel to the fitting surface of the female casing, so as to slide the male and the female terminals out of or into contact with each other with less force than was required previously.

Multi-terminal electric connector requiring low insertion and removal

A waterproofing connector including a housing provided with a plurality of chambers in which wiring harnesses are fixed and with a rigid grid consisted of plates for partitioning the chambers, and a seal for sealing an end of the housing, the seal being provided with a plurality of holes in which the wiring harnesses are passed through to the chambers and with grooves for partitioning the holes. The plates of the rigid grid are inserted securely in the grooves of the seal respectively when the end of the housing is covered by the seal. The holes of the seal do not deform nor shift from chambers of the housing when the seal is put in the housing for sealing and when wiring harnesses are passed through the holes to the chambers, and good waterproofness is obtained between the holes and the wiring harnesses.

A female terminal includes a female terminal member and a protective sleeve. The female terminal member has a receptacle section to which a male terminal is to be connected and an electrical wire connecting section to which an electrical wire is to be connected. The receptacle section has a base cylindrical part and a flexible contact part extending from the base cylindrical part. The protective sleeve for protectively covering the receptable section of the female terminal member is fitted around the receptacle section. The sleeve has a base cylindrical portion fixedly fitted onto the base cylindrical part of the receptacle section and an enlarged diameter portion integrally connected to the base cylindrical portion through a step portion. When the female terminal thus constituted is fitted in a connector housing, at least one stopper arm provided in the connector housing come to engage with the step portion to securely hold the female terminal in the housing. The engagement between the stopper arm and the step portion of the female sleeve is made relatively near from a front opening of the housing.
