In an absorbent article, an absorbent core includes first and second layers adjacent to each other in the thickness direction; the first layer has, in a front-body part, a groove extending in the longitudinal direction, penetrating in the thickness direction, and having a terminal end at a rear position and a base disposed adjacent to the rear position of the groove with the terminal end therebetween; the second layer has a groove corresponding part and a base corresponding part at positions overlapping the groove and the base respectively in the thickness direction; and the average density of highly absorbent polymer particles contained in the base and the average density of the highly absorbent polymer particles contained in the base corresponding part are higher than the average density of the highly absorbent polymer particles contained in the groove corresponding part.

Absorbent article

Here is disclosed a disposable diaper, which includes a liquid-absorbent zone in a crotch region having first through fourth sections. A stiffness of the first and second sections formed from top- and backsheets is lower than a stiffness of the third and fourth sections formed from the top- and backsheets and an absorbent core. Stretchably elastic members extending in a longitudinal direction are contractibly attached to the fourth section. A liquid-absorbent zone in the crotch region is formed with a concavity (feces pocket) as the fourth section contract in the longitudinal direction under a contractile force of the elastic members.

Disposable diaper

A disposable diaper includes a basic absorbent batt structure having front and rear waist regions and a crotch region, a pair of barrier cuffs extending along opposite sides of the basic absorbent batt structure and at least one supplementary absorbent batt structure placed on the front waist region of the basic absorbent batt structure between the barrier cuffs. The supplementary absorbent batt structure has a proximal end portion thereof joined to the front waist region of the basic absorbent batt structure and has the vicinity of a distal end portion thereof joined to the vicinities of the barrier cuffs.

A disposable diaper includes a basic absorbent batt structure and a supplementary absorbent batt structure placed thereon. An elastic member is provided between the two batt structures so as to transversely cross them. Contraction of the elastic member causes opposite side edge regions of the two batt structures to be pulled nearer to a longitudinal center line thereof. This results in a zone of the former batt structure underlying a distal end portion of the latter batt structure to curving downward with respect to a lower surface of the latter batt structure while the distal end portion of the latter batt structure curves upward with respect to a body facing surface of the basic absorbent batt structure. The curving of the batt structures forms a pocket opening from a front waist region toward a crotch region of the disposable diaper.

An absorbent article contains a hydrophilic fiber processed by a water-soluble deodorant containing a graft polymer having a deodorant functional group. This constitution ensures to have large deodorizing function per unit weight, compared to a particulate deodorant. Consequently, the constitution allows to decrease a weight of the deodorant and to excel in deodorizing function. Moreover, it is unnecessary to fix the deodorant and easy to compound with the absorbent article. Therefore, it allows to obtain an absorbent article having excellent aesthetics and cleanness.

A body fluid absorbent panel including openings and a barrier which comprises, in turn, a shape keeping layer formed with a plurality of thermoplastic synthetic resin fibers and a body fluid retaining layer formed with a plurality of thermoplastic synthetic fibers mixed with an absorbent material, wherein the synthetic resin fibers are hot welded together at contact points of these fibers in the shape keeping layer as well as in the body fluid retaining layer and the synthetic resin fibers of these layers are hot welded together at contact points of these fibers along an interface of the shape keeping layer and the body fluid absorbent layer.

A disposable diaper includes a basic absorbent batt structure and a supplementary absorbent batt structure placed on the basic absorbent batt structure. The diaper is formed with a feces receiving space surrounded by the supplementary absorbent batt structure and bottom and side surfaces of a cavity and extending from a crotch region toward a front waist region so that an upper opening of the cavity is partially uncovered in the crotch regionand thereby forms a feces inlet leading to the space.

A body fluid absorbent panel including fibers containing hydrophilic fibers by 80-100% by weight and superabsorbent polymer particles contains heat-fusible fibers which are fused to intertwine the fibers and thereby to form a three-dimensional network structure wherein the high absorption polymer particles are held between respective pairs of the adjacent fibers or bonded to the fibers by means of binder, and thereby falling off of the polymer particles can be prevented and the absorption efficiency can be improved.

A sanitary article having a multi-layered absorbent member includes a panel stacked in two layers each having a plurality of openings extending through this member in its thickness direction and a plurality of fibrous assembly regions extending between each pair of the adjacent openings, the openings in the upper layer of the panel are out of alignment with the corresponding openings in the lower layer of the panel and each of the openings in the upper layer of the panel is divided in two or more sections by the fibrous assembly regions in the lower layer of the panel.

The article includes a feces receiving region that is provided in the form of a laminate that includes a top layer provided with at least one opening having an area of 20&tilde;500 mm , a feces holding layer in the form of a three-dimensional network structure underlying the top layer, a liquid-absorbent layer underlying the holding layer and a liquid-impervious back layer covering a lower surface of the absorbent layer. The laminate has its width progressively reduced toward a front end of the feces receiving pocket and a leakage barrier is formed along transversely opposite side edges of the top layer.
