A connector is attached to a cable which has a center conductor and a shield. The connector is mateable with a mating connector along a front-rear direction. The mating connector includes a mating contact and a mating shell, which has a mating lock portion and a shell contact portion. The connector includes first and second members. The second member has a front portion and a rear portion. The front portion is provided with a lock portion. One of the rear portion and the front portion is provided with a second contact portion. Under a state where the connector and the mating connector are connected with each other, the lock portion locks the mating lock portion while the second contact portion is brought into contact with the shell contact portion, so that the first member and the second member are maintained in a state in which they are electrically separated.

Provided is a connector lockable a connection with the connection object securely. The connector comprises a housing, an attachment, and a lock portion. The connection object which has a locked portion is inserted to and connected with the connector from the front of the connector. The attachment is attached to the housing and comprises an upper attachment positioned higher than the housing, a lower attachment positioned lower than the housing, and a coupling portion coupling the upper attachment and the lower attachment. The lock portion comprises a locking lug positioned backward of the coupling portion and engaging with the locked portion of the connection object when the connection object connected with the connector is moved in an eject direction opposite to the insertion direction, and a spring portion positioned between the upper attachment and the lower attachment and supporting the locking lug so as to be displaceable in a vertical direction perpendicular to the insertion direction.

A connector according to the present invention comprises a housing and a plurality of contacts. The housing includes a mating portion having a plate shape. The mating portion projects forward and has an upper surface and a bottom surface. The plurality of contacts is held by the housing. Each of the contacts comprises a contact portion, an end portion and a flat portion. The contact portion extends in a connection direction and is exposed at the upper surface of the mating portion. The end portion is embedded in the mating portion. The flat portion forms a boundary between the contact portion and the end portion and does not projects from the upper surface. The flat portion is able to be viewed from above the upper surface of the mating portion.

In a connector for connecting first and second connection objects faced to each other, a conductive contact includes a holding portion held by an insulator, a first spring portion, and a second spring portion connected to the first spring portion. The first spring portion extends from the holding portion in one direction and has a first contacting portion to be connected to the first connection object. The second spring portion extends in the other direction opposite to the one direction and has a free end provided with a second contacting portion to be connected to the second connection object.

In a connector for connecting first and second objects to each other, a contact includes a first connecting portion to be connected to the first object, a second connecting portion to be connected to the second object, and a holding portion held by a housing. The first connecting portion includes a pair of coupling portions extending from a base portion and faced to each other and a pair of contacting portions extending from the coupling portions, respectively, and faced to each other. Each of the contacting portions includes a fitting portion coupled to the coupling portion and fitted to the first connection object and a free end extending on a side opposite to the fitting portion. In a hinge unit for use in an electronic apparatus, a shaft has a part held by a first member unrotatable and axially unmovable. Around the other part of the shaft, a flexible portion of a circuit board is wound. A second member is rotatable and axially unmovable with respect to the shaft. An intermediate member is faced to the second member in an axial direction and is unrotatable and axially movable with respect to the shaft. By an elastic member interposed between the shaft and the intermediate member, the intermediate member is urged towards the second member in the axial direction. The second member and the intermediate member are engaged with each other in a rotating direction by an engaging structure. The engaging structure releases the engagement with energization of the elastic member in response to a rotating force applied between the second member and the intermediate member.

In a hinge apparatus for rotatably connecting a first housing and a second housing of an electronic apparatus, the hinge apparatus includes a first rotating portion adapted to be connected to the first housing and a second rotating portion adapted to be connected to the second housing and rotatable with respect to the first rotating portion. The second rotating portion unrotatably holds a switch. A cam member is disposed to face the switch. The cam member is rotatable with respect to the second rotating portion and adapted to be engaged with the second housing in a rotating direction of the hinge apparatus. The switch includes a conductive first contact and a conductive second contact faced to the first contact and adapted to be connected to and disconnected from the first contact. The cam member has a cam portion for pressing the second contact following the rotation of the cam member to connect and disconnect the second contact to and from the first contact.
