A fiber for artificial hair that has an improved appearance with a suppressed gloss is obtained by combining regenerated collagen fibers having different shapes in cross section. An artificial hair product using the same is provided. The fiber for artificial hair according to the present invention is obtained by combining fibers having different shapes in cross section. The fiber for artificial hair includes regenerated collagen fibers, and the regenerated collagens fibers include at least two types of regenerated collagen fibers whose cross-sectional shapes are selected from the group consisting of shapes including an elliptical shape, a circular shape, and a multifoil shape. The artificial hair product of the present invention includes the above-described fiber for artificial hair.

Fiber for artificial hair and artificial hair product using the same

A fiber having unique gloss of appearance (flickering gloss) with light diffusibility, while maintaining natural feeling of gloss necessary as fiber for hair, is provided. The present invention may be attained by an artificial fiber for hair obtained from an acrylic based synthetic fiber having a single fiber size of 20 dtex to 80 dtex, the fiber having a maximum reflectance to a white light of 15% to 36% in case of a fiber having less than 21 of L value, or of 36% to 70% in case of a fiber having not less than 21 of L value, and having an optical diffusion coefficient of not less than 0.25.

Fiber for artificial hair and process for producing the same

An object of the present invention is to provide an acrylic synthetic fiber having excellent stylability and heat resistance. The object may be attained by an acrylic synthetic fiber having a knot-like unevenness on a fiber surface thereof, a difference of distances between a depression and a projection of 5.0 micrometers to 15.0 micrometers, a distance between peaks of unevenness of 0.05 mm to 0.5 mm, a flexural rigidity value of the fiber of 7.0&#xd7;10N-m/m to 10.0&#xd7;10N-m/m, and a torsional rigidity value of the fiber of 5.0&#xd7;10N-mto 10.0&#xd7;10N-m, and furthermore the object may be attained by an acrylic synthetic fiber comprising an acrylic copolymer having a content of acrylonitrile of not less than 60 mol %, a sulfur content originating in a vinyl based monomer including a sulfonic group of 0.15% by weight to 0.50% by weight, and a specific viscosity of 0.20 to 0.50.
