A sheet hold flapis arranged on an upper side of a vicinity of a rear end portion of a sheet tableto which a sheet is continuously supplied from a copier or the like. The sheet hold flap is switched to an upper initial position and a sheet holding position by a solenoid. There is carried out a control of holding a rear end portion of a sheet P by driving the sheet hold flap to the sheet holding position after taking in a sheet to the sheet table and returning the sheet hold flap to the initial position to escape from a sheet path in taking in a successive sheet. Sheet jamming by floating up the sheet is prevented by holding a sheet on the sheet table until immediately before taking in the successive sheet.

Hold flap for sheet postprocessing apparatus

There is provided a sensorfor detecting penetration of a sheet by a punch hole aligning pin, and there is provided controlling means for retrying a penetrating operation by returning the punch hole aligning pin to an initial position when a time period from starting to move the pin to penetrating the sheet exceeds a reference time period. Even when a degree of unalignment of the punch hole of the sheet P is considerable and the punch hole aligning pin cannot penetrate through the sheet by once, the punch hole aligning pin is penetrated therethrough frequently by repeating the penetrating operation and therefore, an error in aligning the sheet can be reduced. In a case in which the pin is not penetrated through the sheet even when the penetrating operation is carried out by a predetermined number of times, the pin is returned to the initial position and an error is displayed.

Sheet postprocessing apparatus and sheet postprocessing method

A binding device for binding a stack of sheets with a bind member in which parallel legs extend perpendicularly from a straight portion, the binding device comprises: a driver plate which drives the straight portion of the bind member toward the legs; curved shaping guide grooves which are formed to respectively correspond to the legs; and a fulcrum member which is disposed in the vicinity of and inside one end of each of the shaping guide grooves, and which constitutes shaping fulcrums, the shaping fulcrums respectively engaging with side faces of the legs of the bind member which is driven out toward the one end of each of the shaping guide grooves, thereby bendingly shaping the legs, and, during a period after the bind member is driven out and before the legs are formed into ring-like shapes by the fulcrum member and the shaping guide grooves, the legs are passed through punched holes formed in an edge portion of each of sheets.

Binding device

A rotary punching device for punching a hole on a sheet includes: a first rotary shaft having an outer peripheral surface; a punch mounted on the outer peripheral surface of the first rotary shaft; a second rotary shaft arranged in parallel with the first rotary shaft, the second rotary shaft having an outer peripheral surface; a die mounted on the outer peripheral surface of second rotary shaft; a motor connected to the first and second rotary shafts to synchronously drive the first and second rotary shafts such that the punch and the die are engaged with each other within a predetermined rotational angle range; a sheet feeding mechanism for feeding the sheet into between the first and second rotary shafts at a constant sheet feeding speed to punch the sheet by the punch and the die; and controller for controlling the rotation speed of the motor referring to the sheet feeding speed.
