A composition includes particular amounts a poly(phenylene ether), a first polyamide, hydrogenated block copolymer of an alkenyl aromatic and a conjugated diene, pentaerythritol tetrastearate, and bisphenoxyethanol fluorene. The composition can be particularly well-suited for use in a reinforced thermoplastic composition including a reinforcing carbon filler.

Composition, method for the manufacture thereof, article formed therefrom, and reinforced thermoplastic composite comprising the composition

A composition includes specific amounts of a poly(alkylene terephthalate) and an epoxy compound having a weight average molecular weight of at least (500) daltons, and an epoxy equivalent weight of at least (400) grams per equivalent. The composition exhibits high melt flow, and articles molded from the composition exhibit reduced high-temperature outgassing compared to corresponding compounds without the epoxy compound. The composition is suitable for molding directly metallizable reflectors and bezels for automotive headlights.

Poly(butylene terephthalate) composition and associated article

A composition includes 100 parts by weight of poly(alkylene terephthalate) and 0.01 to 2 part by weight of a compound represented by Formula (1), a partially saponified derivative thereof, or a combination thereof, (1) wherein R, R, and n are defined herein. The composition, which excludes copolymers of an unsubstituted or substituted styrene and an unsaturated nitrile, is useful for molding articles with very smooth surfaces. For example, the composition can be used to mold directly-metallizable substrates for automotive headlight reflectors and bezels. 

Polyester composition and article prepared therefrom

A method for reducing outgassing of a polyester composed of repeat units derived from 1,4-butanediol is melt blending the polyester with 0.2 to 2 weight percent water, based on the weight of the polyester. In addition to water, the polyester can also be blended with 0.01 to 0.5 weight percent of a quencher. The method results in formation of a polyester composition which exhibits reduced outgassing, and is suitable for molding into articles, for example an automotive headlight reflector or bezel.

Poly(butylene terephthalate) method and associated composition and article

A thermoplastic polyester composition comprises polyalkylene terephthalate, a block copolymer comprising a semi-crystalline polyolefin block and at least one of a vinyl aromatic polymer block and an elastomeric polyolefin block, and reinforcing filler. The composition is capable of providing insert-molded articles, comprising a metal part, with high durability and resistance to cracking when subjected to a rigorous thermal cycle.

Polyester compositions and insert-molded articles made therefrom

A composition comprising a combination of a thermoplastic polyester; and 0.2 to 0.7 parts by weight of an alkali metal salt, an alkaline earth metal salt, and/or a Cester of an aliphatic Ccarboxylic acid, based on 100 parts by weight of the polyester. The compositions are useful for molding parts, such as automotive headlamp reflectors.
