A bearing material may include a polymeric matrix of polyamide-imide (PAI) polymer material and a plurality of melamine cyanurate particles dispersed within the polymeric matrix.

The first polymer-based layer may include a polymeric material and may be disposed on the metallic substrate. The polymeric material of the first polymer-based layer may be the same as the polymeric material of the second polymer-based layer. The second polymer-based layer may further include a tungsten disulphide particulate.
