Systems, methods, and apparatus are herein disclosed for controlling a display brightness based on user action or user interest in the display. In particular, the display brightness can be dimmed upon identification of a first marker indicative of a user action such as a request for a webpage. The brightness of the display can be increased or returned to its original state upon identification of a second marker indicative of completion of a user equipment activity triggered by the user action. In some embodiments, another brightness state between these two can be used as an intermediary and is triggered when a third marker, indicative of a progression of the user equipment activity, is identified.

Display dimming to save mobile device power during webpage, web content, and device application loading

Systems and methods are herein disclosed for reducing power consumption, processor activity, network activity, and for improving a user experience during web browsing. More particularly, an ordering of IFrames, or other self-contained component within the mainframe, is modified in terms of network resources, memory resources, and processor resources in order to conserve user device resources. For instance, aspects of multicore processors and multichannel network connections are utilized to perform parallel operations on mainframe data packets and IFrame data packets when a webpage is downloaded. Since mainframes and IFrames are sourced from different URLs they can be received on separate communication channels and can be processed on different cores. Prioritization in memory storage between the two can also be used to enhance the speed with which the mainframe is loaded.

Re-ordering of iFrame execution to reduce network activity window

Systems, methods, and apparatus are disclosed for conserving battery power in a user equipment (UE) by idling the modem when it is not needed in an active state. Idling can occur (1) between a user request for content and the start of the content download; (2) after the content download; and (3) after additional dynamic content has been downloaded, further scripting has finished, or UE data has been uploaded to the network, but before another user request for content has been made. Grace timers can be used before the second and third opportunities to ensure that the modem is not idled while still in use, but also to minimize the time that the modem is in an active state but not being used. These timers can be fixed or dynamic and their duration based on historical trends or testing of particular content or content types.

Method to conserve power on a wireless mobile device using web browser state knowledge

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for reducing power consumption of an application processor in a user equipment. State information of applications that indicate an expected load requirement that the applications will likely place on the application processor, can be used to control power management features of the application processor. For instance, an operating frequency of the application processor, or online cores of the application processor, can be reduced. The number of online cores (those that are not idled) can also be changed to tailor performance and power consumption to the load requirement. Other power management techniques such as adjusting core operational voltage can also be implemented.

Frequency reduction of mobile device cores based on application processing requirements

A wireless communication device that dynamically escalates media transmission handling on the resident computer platform operating system through passing priority data bundles that include media directly from an application programming interface to the wireless communication interface. The application programming interface generates an outgoing priority data bundle including media, and a media handler directs the outgoing priority data bundle directly to the wireless communication interface for transmission without handling of the outgoing priority data bundle by other software layers of the operating system. The same priority handling can be done with incoming data bundles received at the wireless communication interface and being sent to an application programming interface.
