An assembly and inspection cart for precision equipment includes a frame that has three support portions to support the precision equipment at three points, air float devices attached to the frame at three positions, a rubber roller and a motor that are provided so as to be freely lifted and lowered with respect to the frame, and an air cylinder that lifts and lowers the rubber roller. The air float device floats the frame together with the precision equipment and forms an air layer between the frame and a floor surface. The rubber roller is arranged at a center of the three air float devices and is configured so as to press against the floor with a predetermined force when lowered by the air cylinder in a state where the frame is floated.

A measuring system includes a coordinate measuring machine for driving a scanning probe and a host computer. The host computer includes a compensation table () and a profile analysis unit (). The compensation table stores, as compensation data, compensation coefficients to correct counter values of a probe counter (), and compensation radiuses 'r' to the workpiece surface concerning central coordinate values of a contact portion, for respective contact directions. The profile analysis unit has a contact direction calculation unit (), a compensation data selection unit (), a compensation calculation unit (). The contact direction calculation unit calculates the contact direction along which the scanning probe comes into contact with a workpiece W, and the compensation data selection unit selects compensation data set up in the compensation table based on thus calculated contact direction.

Geometrical errors in a coordinate measuring machine are measured while works with various weights are mounted on the coordinate measuring machine. Compensation parameters are derived from measured results per a weight of a work and stored. A compensation parameter corresponding to a weight of a work to be measured is appropriately read out to correct measured coordinates of the work to be measured.

A guide rail () having a guide surface for guiding sliding movement of a movable body () is monolithically formed on a base () of a measuring machine (). A coating film for rust prevention is formed on the guide surface. With this feature, it is not necessary to attach the guide rail () as a discrete member to the base (), so that a number of steps in the manufacture process and the production cost can be reduced. Further as the base () and the guide rail () are made of the same material, the bimetal effect does not occur, which insures the stability of the base () against changes due to aging.

This invention is intended to provide a damping device capable of conducting highly precise damping control. To attain this object, this invention is a damping device used in a machine which includes a rotating object and a motor rotating the rotating object, wherein the damping device includes: a vibration damper filled with an electroviscous fluid having a viscosity changing according to a value of a voltage applied to the electroviscous fluid, and rotatably supporting at least a part of the rotating object in the electroviscous fluid; a voltage applicator applying the voltage to the electroviscous fluid in the vibration damper; and a controller controlling an operation of the voltage applicator so that an optimum voltage, at which the viscosity of the electroviscous fluid absorbing a vibration of the rotating object most effectively is obtained, can be applied to the electroviscous fluid in the vibration damper in accordance with a rotating speed of the rotating object.

Position measuring apparatus and working apparatus using the same

By combining measuring element direction constant control, rotary table radius constant scanning control, and two-flank contact control, V-groove rotary table scanning control is performed to cause the measuring element of the scanning probe to contact always with two flanks composing the V-groove of the object to be measured, so that it is possible to measure accurately the characteristic values such as pitch deviation and axial runout of side face of male threads set up and fixed on a rotary table or screw hole of the object put on the rotary table.
