An abutting portion is provided as a portion of an edge portion of an upper wall portion, and abuts against an edge portion of a first side wall portion when the upper wall portion bends toward the inside of a tubular wall portion. The projection portion projects from the upper wall portion, and restricts insertion of the tubular wall portion toward the back of the housing by abutting against the housing when the tubular wall portion is inserted into the housing in an orientation different from a predetermined insertion orientation. The engaging portion is configured to be able to engage with an engaged portion provided on an inner side of the housing. The engaging portion is provided on the tubular wall portion at a position that shifted from or separated from the projection portion in the longitudinal direction of the tubular wall portion.

Terminal, connector, and electrical connection apparatus

A connector includes a housing to be attached to a front face of a panel. A panel has a mounting opening through which a rear portion of the housing is inserted. The rear portion of the housing has a lance extending in a direction parallel to the front face of the panel. The mounting opening has a concave portion through which the lance is inserted. When the housing is moved in a first direction along the front face of the panel, a locking piece that continues to a concave portion locks the tip of the lance such that the housing is difficult to move in a second direction.

Electrical connector

A low-profile socket contact is provided that is mountable on a print substrate and has a high contact pressure. The socket contact includes a base portion provided on a print substrate, and a contact connecting portion connecting to the tab-shaped contact provided on a central portion of the base portion. The base portion has an opening in which the tab-shaped contact passes through, and a plurality of lead portions solderable to the print substrate. The contact connecting portion has a pair of first bending fragments, a pair of first inverted arms, a pair of second bending fragments, and a pair of second inverted arms. A contact point in contact with the tab-shaped contact is provided on each front ends of the pair of first inverted arms, and a guiding face in which the tab-shaped contact slides is provided on the pair of second inverted arms.

Socket contact

A socket contact includes a base bottom portion and a contact connection portion. The base bottom portion is mounted on a printed board. The contact connection portion is provided on both sides of the base bottom portion in a lateral direction, and connected with a counterpart contact. The base bottom portion includes an opening and a pair of first feet. The pair of first feet extends in longitudinal directions substantially perpendicular to the lateral direction. The first feet are soldered to the printed board. The contact connection portion includes an elastic arm, a first bent arm, a rigid arm, a second bent arm, and a second foot. The first bent arm includes a contact point having contact with a first surface of the counterpart contact, and the second bent arm includes a guide face along which a second surface of the counterpart contact slides.

A plug-type connector for connecting end portions of a pair of FFCs extending in parallel to each other. The connecter is provided with: a holder having a placing frame provided on the surface and backside thereof with a pair of placing faces on which the end portions of the pair of FFCs are respectively placed; and a fixing member capable of fixing the end portions of the FFCs to the corresponding placing faces of the holder. The fixing member includes: an annular portion which defines an insertion hole into which the placing frame of the holder with the end portions of the FFCs placed on the corresponding placing faces, can be inserted together with the FFCs; and engagement portions which are engageable with corresponding engaged portions of the holder when the annular portion is brought toward the holder with the pair of FFCs previously inserted into the insertion hole of the annular portion.

Plug-type connector and electric connector comprising the same

An electrical connector comprises: a base connector having a base housing and fixed to a print board, the base housing defining a recess having a plurality of plane opponent contacts; a socket connector having a socket housing that houses a plurality of socket contacts to be connected with the opponent contacts, the socket connector inserted into and removed from the recess; a plurality of lead wires extending in a direction substantially parallel to an attachment face of the print board; a pair of first locking mechanisms provided with the base housing and the socket housing, respectively, the first locking mechanisms engaging each other in a direction perpendicular to the direction of extension of the lead wires; and a pair of second locking mechanisms provided with the base housing and the socket housing, respectively, the second locking mechanisms engaging each other in a direction opposite the direction of extension of the lead wires.

A connector which has a structure appropriate for height-lowering is provided. The connector has a concave partformed from a pair of opposing side wallsand, and a back wallwhich is orthogonal to this pair of opposing side wallsand, and the rectangular plate bottom board. The blade contactaccording to the present invention is configured such that it is inserted towards and engaged with the concave partfrom the back wall, and the contact connection partfor connecting to the opposing contact is in contact with the bottom surface of the concave part. Therefore, the position of the blade contact can be maintained by the bottom surface of the concave partand the back wallmore firmly and easier. Thus, the thickness of the basecan be made thin and further lowering of the base connector can be realized.

Base connector

A socket contact which is connected to an opposing planar contact, comprises: a long connection part to which a lead wire is connected; and a contact connection part which is connected to the opposing contact provided on the base-end side of the connection part. The contact connection part comprises a planar contact body, a pair of extended arms which are almost parallel and extends from the base-end side of the contact body, and a pair of reversed arms which are almost parallel and extends from the tips of the pair of extended arms to the contact body, the tips of which are mutually joined. The pair of reversed arms are provided with a pair of contact points which are mutually opposed and into which opposing contacts can be inserted.

A plug-type connector for connecting an FFC. The connector is provided with: a holder including a placing plate on which an end portion of the FFC is placed as temporarily held; and a fixing member capable of fixing the end portion of the FFC to the holder. The fixing member includes: an annular portion into which the placing plate of the holder with the end portion of the FFC placed thereon, is inserted together with the FFC; and engagement portions which are engageable with corresponding engaged portions of the holder when the annular portion is brought toward the holder with the FFC previously inserted into the annular portion.

There is provided an electric connector for simplifying the structure of the cable holding mechanism without using a special cable holding piece, reducing the number of man-hours by simplifying the operation of attaching the cable holding mechanism to a connector housing. The electric connector with a cable holding mechanism comprises a plug proper having a plurality of connector terminals fitted therein at an inner opening thereof and a cable drawing face from which wires connected to the connector terminals is drawn out, a cover cap to be fitted to the plug proper in a state where the cable drawing face is covered therewith and the cable is drawn outside, and a cable holding mechanism formed on a wall face of the cover cap. The cable holding mechanism is made up of two vertical grooves each having a width in which a flexible strip-like piece of a cable bundling piece is inserted at a position in the vicinity of a cable drawing opening formed at the inner face of the cover cap.

Electric connector with cable holding mechanism

A connector for coupling panels which does not influence upon an electrically connected part of a connector to be attached to a panel even if an external force is applied to the panel. The connector for coupling panels comprises an insulating housing having a through hole therein through which connector terminals are fitted therein, flanges orthogonal to a direction of insertion and removal through the insulating housing and projected outwardly from at least one wall face of the insulating housing, comprising front and back faces, respectively, and a pair of retainer members having flexibility, fixedly attached to both side ends or both up-down ends of the insulating housing, respectively, wherein the retainer members are provided with a pair of retainer stepped parts, facing each other, and there is a gap for allowing fixture of the panel between the front and back faces of the respective flanges and the respective retainer stepped parts of the retainer members.

Connector for coupling panels and method of coupling panels using the connector

A connector with retainer members which is not broken even if elastic retainer pieces of the retainer members are excessively bent when the connector is attached to a panel. The connector with retainer members comprises an insulating housing proper having penetration holes inside thereof through which a plurality of connector terminals are fitted therein, flanges protruded outwardly from right and left or upper and lower wall faces of the housing proper in a direction orthogonal to a direction of insertion and removal of the connector, a pair of retainer members having elasticity and fixedly attached to both sides of the back face of the flanges. The retainer members comprise posts fixedly attached to the flanges, and elastic retainer pieces having flexibility and formed by folding back the posts in a substantially inverted V-shape from each head thereof, and said elastic retainer pieces comprise retainer stepped parts at tip ends engaged with peripheral edges of attachment ports of a panel, and tongue pieces provided on the tip end of the retainer stepped parts and the tip ends of the tongue pieces are butted against the posts for restricting the elastic retainer pieces from being excessively bent.

A connector with retainer members attachable to a panel from a direction of either a front or back wall face thereof, and easily removable from the panel. The connector comprises an insulating housing having a through hole therein with connector terminals fitted in the through-hole, flanges orthogonal to a direction of insertion and removal through the insulating housing and projected outwardly from at least one wall face of the insulating housing, comprising front and back wall faces, respectively, and a pair of retainer members having flexibility, fixedly attached to both side ends or both up-down ends of the insulating housing, respectively. The retainer members are provided with a pair of retainer stepped parts, facing each other, and there is a gap for allowing fixture of the panel between the front and back wall faces of the respective flanges and the respective retainer stepped parts of the retainer members.
