The present invention provides a printing apparatus and a printing method capable of washing a printing plate with a high degree of cleanliness. The present invention is a printing apparatus and a printing method, wherein: the printing apparatus comprises a print roll, a coater that is placed below the print roll and forms ink on the print roll, a first base placed above the print roll, a first stage placed on the bottom face of the first base, a first printing plate placed on the bottom face of the first stage, a print object to which the ink formed on the print roll is transcribed, a first stage placed on the top or bottom face of the print object, and a washer for washing the first printing plate; the washer has a washing device; and a spray nozzle of the washing device is directed to the side where the first base exists.

Translucent reflective type liquid crystal display

A display apparatus is capable of adapting sufficiently to an increase in the display frequency even when using an optical modulation element which has a fairly low response speed and can rewrite an image at a high speed. The display apparatus separately performs mapping of display data for an optical modulation element of each pixel and application of gradation information. The display apparatus divides a display period of one frame into a plurality of sub-frames, controls the input value for the optical modulation element independently per each sub-frame in the plurality of sub-frames, and displays an image with a gradation display using the optical modulation element.

A reflective liquid crystal display apparatus with pixels includes a first electrode substrate, a second electrode substrate and a liquid crystal layer. The first electrode substrate includes a polymer layer having plural protrusions or depressions arranged randomly formed on a glass substrate, and a reflective layer, color filters, transparent electrodes, and an alignment layer formed and laminated sequentially on the polymer layer. A reflection type liquid crystal display apparatus can avoid degradation of a reflection surface or an electrode terminal, provide a multiple color display with high color purity, and reduce fluctuation of voltage due to loss of a drive voltage or capacitive coupling, even when a color filter is provided on a substrate on the side of a reflection plate, thereby to realize a bright display having a high contrast. Reflection type liquid crystal display apparatus with insulating film between electrodes and reflection layer

A liquid crystal display device includes two electrode substrates and a liquid crystal layer laid between these substrates. One electrode is composed of a glass substrate with a plastics layer having plural convex portions or convex and concave portions randomly formed thereon and a lamination of a reflector, an insulating and flatting layer, a transparent electrode, and alignment layer formed on the plastics layer. The other electrode substrate is composed of a glass substrate and a lamination of a transparent electrode and alignment layer formed on the glass substrate. Both of the electrode substrates are located in a manner to allow the alignment layer of them to be opposed to each other.

Method of manufacturing reflective liquid crystal display device

A reflective color liquid crystal display apparatus, which can obtain bright images with a contrast in when viewed from any direction, is provided at a low cost. The reflective color liquid crystal display apparatus has an inside reflector and is able to produce bright images with a high contrast because unnecessary reflecting light from non-aperture portions can be decreased, and its aperture ratio can be determined approximately only by intervals of the reflective layer and intervals between the transparent electrodes. This can be accomplished by removing a reflective layer corresponding to black a matrix layer, adding a black matrix function to a polymer layer having protrusions and depressions under the reflective layer, and making a composition of its element so that a black matrix layer is not formed on the reflective layer, but only color filters are formed.

A liquid crystal active matrix display device includes a first substrate having a thin film transistor formed thereon. A light-screening film,is located on the first substrate in a manner to be overlapped with an ITO. The display device includes a second substrate having a color filter and a light-screening film,formed thereon. The second substrate is opposed to the first substrate. The light-screening film,extends from the uncontrollable area by a certain value depending on a voltage from the external, resulting in improving a numerical aperture.

Liquid crystal display device and driving method therefor

A backlight device having a light source, a waveguide provided close to the light source, this waveguide being a wedge-shaped waveguide so constructed that the incident light from the light source can be greatly changed in its direction and made to exit therefrom, a polarizing beam splitter provided on the light-exiting side of the wedge-shaped waveguide, and a light converter disposed on the light-exiting side of the polarizing beam splitter. This backlight device is used for liquid crystal displays.

A liquid crystal active matrix display device includes a first substrate having a thin film transistor formed thereon. A light-screening film 1 is located on the first substrate in a manner to be overlapped with an ITO. The display device includes a second substrate having a color filter and a light-screening film 2 formed thereon. The second substrate is opposed to the first substrate. The light-screening film 2 extends from the uncontrollable area by a certain value depending on a voltage from the external, resulting in improving a numerical aperture.

The object of the invention is to provide a low-cost, high-reliability, compact, lightweight, and low-power-consumption color liquid crystal display. To achieve the object, a liquid crystal display according to the invention comprises a backlight for applying light to a liquid crystal panel, which includes an optical plate at one side of a liquid crystal panel and a light source at the side of the optical plate to supply light to the optical plate; and a tape carrier package for liquid crystal driver including a semiconductor integrated circuit device, wherein the tape carrier package for liquid crystal driver is bent on the bent portion of the light source of the backlight. The present invention makes it possible to realize a high-reliability bent TCP, minimize the frame of a liquid crystal display by applying the bent TCP, and realize OA equipment such as a high-reliability, compact, lightweight, and thin word processor or notebook PC superior in the portability.
