A working system includes a first work station and a second work station. The first work station includes a first conveying unit, a second conveying unit, a first positioning unit, and a first work unit that carries out a predetermined work for a workpiece positioned on the first conveying unit. The second work station includes a third conveying unit, a fourth conveying unit, a second positioning unit, and a second work unit that carries out a predetermined work for the workpiece positioned on the fourth conveying unit. The third conveying unit is connected to a downstream portion of the first conveying unit, and the fourth conveying unit is connected to a downstream portion of the second conveying unit.

A component transfer device according to the present invention includes a holding mechanism that positions and holds a component on a carrying surface located at a predetermined height and a pull-out unit that pulls out the component held on the carrying surface by the holding mechanism in a horizontal direction. The pull-out unit includes a grasping member that can separably grasp the component from a vertical direction, a cam member that causes the grasping member to perform a component grasping operation and a component releasing operation at predetermined timings by exercising a cam function to the grasping member, a driving mechanism that drives the cam member and the grasping member, and a restraint mechanism that restrains a relative movement of the cam member with respect to the movable holder upon grasping operation.

Component transfer device and method

A component transfer apparatus and method includes a mounting member on which a lower frame of a rack can be mounted and which is driven to move up and down in order to take out or retrieve components from the rack in which the components can be aligned and accommodated in a vertical direction; an upper push member that is arranged to face the mounting member from above and driven to move up and down in order to push the upper frame of the rack from above; and a carrying hand that can reciprocate between a retracted position where it faces the upper push member from below and a protruding position where it protrudes from the upper push member in a horizontal direction and that is driven to move up and down so as to enter a space below the upper frame to carry and suspend the rack at the protruding position and so as to move down the rack onto the mounting member at the retracted position. As a result, the rack can be smoothly carried in or carried out and the components can be smoothly supplied and retrieved, whereby operation efficiency can be enhanced and productivity can be improved.

Component transfer apparatus and method

A component transfer device includes a holding mechanism () that positions and holds a component on a carrying surface (S) located at a predetermined height and a pull-out unit () that pulls out the component held on the carrying surface by the holding mechanism in a horizontal direction. The pull-out unit includes a grasping member () that can separably grasp the component from a vertical direction, a cam member () that causes the grasping member to perform a component grasping operation and a component releasing operation at predetermined timings by exercising a cam function to the grasping member, a driving mechanism () that drives the cam member and the grasping member.

A transfer device includes a carrying-in area (A) into which a carriage is carried. A positioning mechanism includes left and right rocking arms () that engage with and disengage from the carriage to lift the carriage while holding it from both left and right sides and position it at a predetermined height position in the carrying-in area. A transfer mechanism () transfers an object from between the positioned carriage and a transfer area. With this construction, the rocking arms lift the carriage from both the left and right sides and from the lower side and position the carriage away from a floor surface. The positioning of the carriage is performed during a rocking operation of the rocking arms, whereby the carriage can be easily and highly accurately positioned without being affected by the flatness of the floor surface even if the carriage has dimensional assembly errors.

Transfer device

A production system that includes a single main conveying line capable of defining a plurality of manual work areas and capable of conveying workpieces, a shuttle that holds a workpiece thereon and that reciprocates along the main conveying line, a shuttle conveying line on which the shuttle is reciprocated over a predetermined distance, a plurality of automatic processing machines that are disposed along the shuttle conveying line on the side opposite to the side on which the main conveying line is laid and that automatically apply a variety of process operations to the workpiece, and a plurality of display units that are disposed adjacent to the manual work areas and that display information about process operations to be applied to the workpiece.

Production system

A chain-driving mechanism and a conveyor apparatus of the present invention include a plurality of rollers () arranged to convey to-be-conveyed objects, a driving mechanism that drives the rollers () in conjunction with each other, and a motor () that exerts a driving force onto the driving mechanism. The driving mechanism includes a plurality of sprockets () that rotate coaxially with and together with the rollers (), an endless chain () wound onto the sprockets (), and a chain guide () disposed adjacent to the chain () so as to sandwich the chain () from the outside in the upward and downward directions. With this structure, there is no need to adjust the stretch of the chain, and the chain can be prevented from slipping off. Additionally, the structure can be made simpler, and costs can be made smaller.

Chain-driving mechanism and conveyor apparatus

An automatic piston inserting equipment comprises a block positioning means for positioning a cylinder block B to a piston inserting position, a piston positioning means for moving and positioning a piston P with a connecting rod R for insertion thereof into a cylinder bore formed in the cylinder block B vertically from above, a cap positioning means for moving and positioning a connecting rod cap C to clamp it vertically from below to the connecting rod R inserted into the cylinder bore, a damp means for damping the connecting rod cap C to the connecting rod R, and a vision system. The vision system detects central position coordinates of the cylinder bore lying at the piston inserting position and central position coordinates of the piston P lying at a start-point chuck position, and on the basis of both such central position coordinates calculates a movement quantity for insertion of the piston P into the cylinder bore.

Automatic piston inserting equipment using a vision system

An automatic piston installation apparatus according to the present invention includes a block positioning mechanism for positioning a cylinder block in a working area separated from a conveying line by moving the cylinder block in vertical and horizontal directions and by rotating the cylinder block around the crankshaft, a piston positioning mechanism for positioning the piston at an insertion position by moving the piston to the working area, a piston inserting mechanism for inserting the piston into a cylinder bore from above in the vertical direction, a cap positioning mechanism for positioning the connecting-rod cap by moving the connecting-rod cap to a fastened position in the working area, and a fastening mechanism for fastening the connecting-rod cap from below in the vertical direction. Thereby, the piston can be installed in various engines, such as inline-type and V-type engines, automatically, with a high degree of accuracy, and reliably, and productivity can also be improved.

Automatic piston installation apparatus

A work chucking/inserting device for chucking and inserting a work into an insertion hole (cylinder bore) in alignment with the hole, including three or more chuck fingers, the chuck fingers being arranged in circumferentially spaced positions and mounted for advancing and retracting radially. Inner surfaces of the chuck fingers serve as chuck surfaces for chucking the work, and outer surfaces of the chuck fingers are tapered at least at tip end portions radially inward toward the tips for contact with an inlet of the insertion hole. The work chucking/inserting device further includes a tracer mechanism which causes the axis of a conical surface defined by the outer surfaces of the chuck fingers to become aligned with the axis of the insertion hole when the outer surfaces of the chuck fingers contact the inlet of the insertion hole. A pushing mechanism is included for pushing the work toward the insertion hole. The work chucking/inserting device can handle various sizes of workpieces with a simple structure, within a short time and with high working efficiency.

Work chucking/inserting apparatus and assembling unit

The present invention relates to a cotter-mounting apparatus that, by engaging a pair of cotters with engagement grooves provided on the outer circumferential surface of an axial member, mounts the pair of cotters that fix a retainer for holding a spring to exert a pressing force to the axial member in a compressed state, wherein the cotter-mounting apparatus includes a retainer holding mechanism that holds a retainer having a pair of cotters incorporated, and is driven to be relatively elevated and lowered on the upper side in the axial line direction of the axial member; a cotter separating mechanism for separating the pair of cotters from each other over the outer diameter of the axial member roughly in the horizontal direction while pushing up the pair of cotters from downward and for holding the pair of cotters; and a cotter pressing mechanism for pressing the pair of cotters separated by the cotter separating mechanism from the outside roughly in the horizontal direction and causing the cotters to be engaged with the engagement grooves positioned in advance. With such a structure, it is possible to mount cotters with a simple procedure, to increase productivity and to engage the pair of cotters with a plurality of engagement grooves without fail.

A roller conveyer includes a motor and a plurality of rollers which are disposed on at least opposing lateral sides of the conveyance path and are adapted to convey articles on and along the conveyance path through rotation thereof. The rollers disposed on at least one side of the conveyance path each include a roller body and a first gear attached coaxially to the roller body. The roller body and the first gear may rotate either together or in a state in which relative sliding rotation therebetween. Adjacent first gears are interlockingly engaged, via one or more second gears disposed therebetween, to thereby rotate the rollers concurrently. Rotational torque of the motor is input directly or indirectly to any one of the first gears. The motor is preferably disposed at an intermediate portion in the direction of conveyance.
