A status determination apparatus determining a driver status in a movable body is provided. The status determination apparatus includes a behavior acquisition portion, a check portion, a determination portion, and a range change portion. The behavior acquisition portion obtains behavior information as present behavior information. The behavior information represents behavior of the movable body. The check portion collates the present behavior information with a threshold region representing a range of the behavior information at time when a driver drives absentmindedly. When the threshold region includes the present behavior information, the determination portion determines that the driver drives absentmindedly. The range change portion changes the threshold region. When the range change portion changes the threshold region, the driver is not determined that the driver drives absentmindedly when a driving support control is executed, and the check portion collates the present behavior information with the changed threshold region.

Status determination apparatus

An apparatus mountable on a vehicle includes a movable device, a sensor, and a drive controller. The movable device is mountable on the vehicle so that a person around the vehicle sees the movable device. The movable device has at least one light emitter and is capable of rotating around an imaginary line extending in a height direction of the vehicle. The sensor detects a positional relationship between the vehicle and the person. The drive controller rotates the movable device toward the person based on the positional relationship detected by the sensor. The number of the light emitters shining steadily is increased after the drive controller rotates the movable device toward the person.

Vehicle-mounted apparatus

In a driver's safety confirmation support system, a moving object detection section detects a moving object approaching to a vehicle in any of detection areas around a vehicle. When the moving object detection section detects the moving object in the detection area on a left side of the vehicle, a display control section controls a right display section provided in a right area relative to a driver's seat to display information regarding the moving object detected. When the moving object detection section detects the moving object in the detection area on a right side of the vehicle, the display control section controls a left display section provided in a left area relative to the driver's seat to display information regarding the moving object.

An electrocardiographic waveform measuring apparatus mounted in a seat with a seat skin element includes: a sensor electrode at a seat interior side of the seat to be covered with the seat skin element; an insulating elastic element at the seat interior side of the sensor electrode in the seat opposite to the seat skin element to face the sensor electrode; a guard electrode at the seat interior side of the insulating elastic element in the seat opposite to the sensor electrode to be opposed to the sensor electrode through the insulating elastic element; and a housing case at the seat interior side of the insulating elastic element in the seat opposite to the sensor electrode to be opposite to the insulating elastic element. The housing case accommodates a sensor circuit with an amplifier circuit, to which a potential signal of the sensor electrode is initially input.

A device for measuring concentration of a constituent in blood includes: an irradiation unit for irradiating light toward a living body, the light having a wavelength disposed in a light absorption band of the constituent in the blood; a light receiving unit for receiving light, which is reflected in the living body or transmitted through the living body; and a concentration measurement unit for measuring the concentration of the constituent in the blood based on variation of light intensity of light received by the light receiving unit, the variation attributed to a pulse wave of the living body.

When a driver of a vehicle brings his/her detection part close to a case, a sensor detects a pulse of the driver at the detection part with an optical method, and takes an image of the detection part. An individual certification means determines whether the driver of the vehicle is an authorized person or not based on the image of the detection part taken by the sensor. An alcohol concentration determiner calculates an index value of a blood alcohol concentration of the driver based on the pulse detected at the detection part by the sensor, and determines whether the index value exceeds a criterial value of a drinking assessment. When it is determined that the driver of the vehicle is an authorized person and the index value does not exceed the criterial value of the drinking assessment, a permission means permits the driver to start an engine of the vehicle.

In a living body inspection apparatus to inspect RLS (Restless Legs Syndrome), a pulse interval is obtained from a pulse wave signal, thereby performing a frequency analysis of the obtained pulse interval using CDM. From a result of the frequency analysis, the low frequency components ranging from 0.04 to 0.15 Hz and the high frequency components ranging from 0.15 to 0.4 Hz are extracted. A value of low frequency components (LF)/high frequency components (HF) is obtained as an index to which an amendment based on age is applied. It is then determined whether LF/HF is equal to or greater than a predetermined determination value indicating RLS. For example, it is determined whether LF/HF is equal to or greater than 0.65, which suspects RLS. It is determined whether a signal is accurately calculated which indicates an activity of autonomic nerve. A state of RLS is determined using LF/HF.

A biosensor senses pulse wave data of a user. The biosensor stores relation information, which indicates a relationship between recommended bedtime data and sleep-affecting activity data. The relationship between the recommended bedtime data and the sleep-affecting activity data is determined in view of at least one of previously sensed pulse wave data of the user and model pulse wave data. The biosensor receives at least one sleep-affecting activity value from the user. The biosensor computes recommended bedtime information based on the at least one sleep-affecting activity value in view of the relation information. The biosensor gives notification to the user based on the recommended bedtime information.

In a portable biological information monitor apparatus, a pulse wave detection signal obtained by light emission from a green LED and a body motion detection signal obtained by light emission from an infrared LED are detected as biological information. This biological information is analyzed to compute various barometers. In a wake normal mode of a set generation mode, body motion and pulse are calculated as wake evaluation barometers for evaluation of a test subject's status in wake. In a wake steady state motion mode, body motion, pulse, and pitch are calculated as motion evaluation barometers for evaluation of the test subject's status in steady state motion. In a sleep mode, body motion, pulse, and autonomic nervous function are calculated as sleep evaluation barometers for evaluation of the test subject's status in sleep. Necessary barometers are thereby generated regardless of the test subject's action using the portable monitor apparatus alone.

Portable biological information monitor apparatus and information management apparatus

A microcomputer included in a physical condition monitoring system calculates the amount of autonomic nerve activity during sleep based on physical information during sleep collected by a physical information collecting device. The physical information contains heart rates, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and the amount of body movement. The microcomputer also receives various kinds of information including training conditions via an input device. Then, it displays the amount of autonomic nerve activity and the training conditions on a display device in a manner that connections between them are indicated.

In a clinical and physiological abnormality monitoring apparatus, and blood pressure monitoring apparatus detects a blood pressure abnormality and the like of a body by employing a pulse wave signal. A frequency analysis is carried out with respect to a pulse wave signal, while this pulse wave signal corresponds to time sequential data of pulse waves. As a result, both a C-frequency component indicative of a fluctuation component of a base line of the pulse wave signal, and also an A-frequency component representative of the respective pulse waves are acquired. A ratio C/A of power of a peak contained in the C-frequency component with respect to power of a peak contained in the A-frequency component is calculated to determine abnormality of the blood pressure.

Method and apparatus for monitoring biological abnormality and blood pressure

An infrared image sensor has a sensor array composed of plural sensor elements and provided on a silicon substrate. A temperature compensation element is provided on the silicon substrate for each sensor element adjacently to the sensor element, and performs temperature correction to an output of the sensor element. Accordingly, the infrared image sensor can provide stable output even when environmental temperature varies.

In a vehicle air conditioning system, a non-contact temperature sensor having plural temperature detecting elements is disposed to detect a predetermined region within a passenger compartment. The plural temperature detecting elements are constructed by plural first elements each of which has a smaller temperature detecting area in the predetermined region, and plural second elements each of which has a larger temperature detecting area in the predetermined region. The non-contact temperature sensor detects an area, where a detail temperature-distribution information is necessary, using the first elements, and detects an area, where the detail temperature-distribution information is unnecessary, using the second elements.

An analog input voltage signal to be A/D-converted is supplied to a ring gate delay circuit including inverting circuits connected in series in a ring as a supply voltage thereto. The interval for which a pulse circulates the ring varies with the analog input voltage signal. The number of times circulation of the pulse and the position of the pulse for a predetermined interval are detected by a counter to provide upper bits and by a pulse position detector to provide lower bits of A/D conversion result of the analog input voltage signal, respectively. The counter and the pulse position detector are included in a coding process block which is driven by a constant voltage which is different from the analog input voltage signal to the ring gate delay circuit.
