A low profile polarization diversity planar antenna capable of effectively separating the horizontal and vertical polarization. The antenna combines a notch antenna (A) and a patch antenna (B) in a low profile structure. The notch antenna comprises a ground plate (10), a feed plate (20), and a radiator plate (30) which are stacked in a spaced relation. The radiator plate is shorted to the ground plate at its center and formed in its periphery with at least two radial notches (38). The feed plate carries feeder probes (27) each located adjacent to each one of the notches for feeding the notch antenna. The patch antenna comprises a patch (40) stacked above the radiator plate (30). The patch (40) is grounded at one portion thereof and has a feed point spaced from the grounded portion for feeding the patch antenna. The patch is grounded to the radiator plate and has a diameter smaller than the radiator plate. Thus, the notch antenna and the patch antenna have individual radiator elements with the radiator plate rendered as the ground plane for the patch antenna, the notch and patch antennas exhibit less mutual coupling so as to effectively separate horizontal polarization made by the notch antenna from vertical polarization by the patch antenna.

Low profile polarization diversity planar antenna

A planar antenna in multilayered arrangement of a grounding conductor plate, a power supplying circuit plate and a radiating circuit plate being separated from one another. Radiating elements of the radiating circuit plate are a plurality of apertures electromagnetically coupled to power supply probes of the power supplying circuit plate. On the radiating circuit plate, a polarizer capable of converting linear polarized waves into circular polarized waves is provided, whereby the antenna is enabled to ensure a high efficiency and wide-band cross polarization characteristics.

A planar antenna includes a set of first radiating plate and first power supplying plate in which openings of the former and power supplying terminals of the latter are respectively coupled electromagnetically to each other, and a further set of second radiating plate and second power supplying plate in which openings of the former and power supplying terminals of the latter are respectively coupled electromagnetically to each other. Antenna structure is thereby simplified while improving productivity and wide band wave reception, and allowing two different polarized waves to be received.

Wide-band, dual polarized planar antenna

A planar antenna for linearly polarized waves includes a grounding conductor plate, a power supply circuit plate having a pattern of power supplying circuit of conductor strips each including power supply terminals, and a radiation plate having apertures forming radiation elements, the respective plates being arranged sequentially with an insulating layer interposed between adjacent ones of the plates to separate them to be independent of one another through a predetermined interval, while arranging the power supplying terminals of the power supplying circuit pattern as well as the apertures in the radiation plate so that the respective power supply terminals terminate to be within a contour of the apertures, in a top plan view, whereby the planar antenna makes it possible to receive at a high gain the linearly polarized waves over a wide band.

A planar antenna includes a grounding conductor plate, a power supply plate having a pattern of power supplying conductor strips each including power supply terminals, and a radiation plate having apertures forming radiation elements, the respective plates being arranged sequentially with an insulating layer interposed between adjacent ones of the plates to separate them to be independent of one another through a predetermined interval, while coupling electromagnetically the respective power supplying terminals of the power supplying conductor pattern on the power supply plate to the radiation elements provided as the apertures in the radiation plate. With this simplified arrangement, the planar antenna makes it possible to receive at a high gain circularly polarized waves over a wide range.

Planar antenna

A waveguide feeding array antenna is provided to be capable of separating and taking up each of the polarization components of the horizontal and vertical polarized waves received concurrently at an opening of each of a plurality of waveguides arranged to form a network, by means of a taking-up equipment disposed in the waveguide circuit. The both polarization components can be made thereby to be effectively separated from and composed with each other while realizing the simplification and economization of the waveguide network.

A planar antenna is provided, at optional power-supply terminals in power-supply circuit pattern provided in parallel with radiation circuit pattern and ground conductor layer, with additional power-supply terminals having a phase difference of an integer multiple of wavelength .lambda.g, while the radiation circuit pattern is provided with additional radiation elements respectively corresponding to each of the additional power-supply terminals, whereby the planar antenna can be made to attain a high gain with the minimum dimension in accordance with the field strength of satellite broadcasting electric waves.

A planar antenna is formed by providing a radiation circuit with a plurality of pairs of radiation elements respectively formed by a slot made in a conductive layer and having a patch element disposed in the slot, the radiation elements in each pair being in mutually positional relationship rotated by 90 degrees and different dimensional relationship, and electromagnetically coupling the respective radiation elements through power supply terminals with a power-supply circuit mutually with a phase difference of 90 degrees in each pair for a power supply between the both circuits, whereby the antenna is expanded in service band and increased in the cross polarization characteristics.

A planar antenna comprises a ground conductor plate, a power supply circuit and a radiation circuit. Each of those circuits is coated on both sides with synthetic resin layers. The circuits are separated from each other by a first air space. The power supply circuit and ground conductor plate are separated from each other by a second air space. Air present in the space operates as a low loss dielectric to achieve a high gain.

A plane antenna comprises a power-supply circuit, a radiator circuit and an earthing conductor which are stacked respectively with a dielectric layer interposed between them, in which the power-supply and radiator circuits are made independent of each other as electromagnetically coupled to each other and at least one of the dielectric layers is formed with a foamed resin, whereby insertion loss can be reduced to remarkably improve the antenna characteristics. Only with the interposition of the foamed resin dielectric layer or layers, an effective separation is achieved between at least the power-supply circuit and the earthing conductor or the power-supply circuit and the radiator circuit, for a large extent improvement in the assembling ability.

A plane antenna comprises a stack of a radiator circuit, first and second power supply circuits and earthing conductor member which are disposed independent of one another with dielectric layers respectively interposed between them, wherein patch elements of the radiator circuit which are respectively disposed in each of slots made in the circuit are electromagnetically coupled to power supplying terminals of the both power supplying circuits rather than directly connecting them, whereby the radiator circuit and power supply terminals are freed from the necessity of direct connection between them as well as the impedance matching between them, so as to eventually improve the assembling ability to a large extent.

Planar antenna with patch elements

A microwave plane antenna comprising antenna body including a plurality of conductive microstrip lines covered with a plastic film and a polyolefin series dielectric layer provided along the microstrip lines for lowering SHF band transmission loss while elevating reception gain. The antenna is enclosed in a plastic cover which includes portions constructed to permit the passage of microwaves while imparting appreciable strength to the cover.
