A cooling device is provided with an evaporator, a condenser, a vapor pipe, and a liquid pipe. The evaporator includes a housing having a reservoir configured to retain a working fluid in a liquid phase flowing inside, a wick disposed in the housing, and transporting the working fluid in the liquid phase, and a groove member having a plurality of flow channels through which the working fluid changed in phase from the liquid phase to the gas phase flows, the groove member being coupled to the wick. The wick has a plurality of through holes which penetrate the wick along a first direction from the reservoir toward the groove member, the through holes being configured to transport the working fluid in the liquid phase retained in the reservoir in the first direction.

Cooling device and projector

A cooling device includes an evaporator, a condenser, a vapor pipe, and a liquid pipe. The evaporator includes a housing having a reservoir, a wick disposed in the housing and retaining the working fluid in the liquid phase, and a groove member having a plurality of flow channels through which the working fluid in the vapor phase flows. The wick has first, second and third layers. The first layer has a plurality of first apertures, and is higher in thermal conductivity than both the second and third layers. The third layer transports the working fluid in the liquid phase in the reservoir to the second layer. The second layer has a plurality of second apertures corresponding to the first apertures, the second apertures having aperture area larger than corresponding one of the first apertures. The second layer transports the working fluid in the liquid phase to the first layer.

A heat transport device includes a loop heat pipe configured in the form of a loop, and a control unit configured to control an amount of heat generated by a heat generating part when the loop heat pipe starts up. The loop heat pipe includes an evaporating unit configured to receive heat of a heat generating part as a cooling target and evaporate a hydraulic fluid, a condensing unit configured to radiate heat and condense vapor obtained by evaporation of the hydraulic fluid, a vapor pipe which connects the evaporating unit and the condensing unit to each other, and a liquid pipe which connects the condensing unit and the evaporating unit to each other.

Heat transport device and projector

A heat transport device having a hydraulic fluid includes: an evaporating unit configured to receive heat from outside and gasify the hydraulic fluid into a gas; a condensing unit configured to liquefy the gas into the hydraulic fluid; and first and second fluid pipes respectively connected to the evaporating unit. The first and second fluid pipes forming an annular flow path with the evaporating unit and the condensing unit. The evaporating unit includes a first porous body which is permeated with the hydraulic fluid by capillary force, and a heat receiving unit configured to receive heat from outside. The heat receiving unit has an accommodation area where the first porous body moves in a first direction. The first fluid pipe is connected to one end side in the first direction of the accommodation area. The second fluid pipe is connected to the other end side of the accommodation area.
