An objective of the invention is to provide an acceleration cavity, an accelerator, and a resonance frequency adjustment method of an acceleration cavity that can change the natural resonance frequency of the acceleration cavity without occupying space between adjacent accelerator cavities. A QWR includes: a body portion whose axial direction is parallel to the vertical direction, and having a cylindrical side face portion; an upper face portion provided in an upper part of the body portion and is a plate-shaped member; and a deformation adjustment portion applying a pressing force on the upper face portion to deform the upper face portion.

Acceleration cavity, accelerator, and resonance frequency adjustment method of acceleration cavity

A superconducting accelerator includes an acceleration cavity, and a refrigerant tank at an outer circumference of the acceleration cavity. The gap between the refrigerant tank and the acceleration cavity is filled with a refrigerant for cooling the acceleration cavity. A pair of pressing members is provided to an outer circumference of the refrigerant tank to be positioned at both side ends of the acceleration cavity in a direction of a beam axis of the charged particle beam or at both ends of the acceleration cavity in a direction perpendicular to the beam axis. A wire is continuously wound around the outer circumference of the refrigerant tank and configured to generate a tensile force in a direction in which the pressing members are brought come into close each other. A tension adjustor is configured to adjust the tensile force generated by the wire.

This shielding body for shielding from geomagnetism and radiant heat comprises: a magnetic shield portion having a plate shape formed from a magnetic body; and a radiation shield portion formed as a film on at least one among outer and inner surfaces in the magnetic shield portion, and formed from a material having a greater heat conductivity than the magnetic body.

An input coupler for an accelerating cavity includes a cylindrical external conductor; a cylindrical internal conductor arranged coaxially with the external conductor, inside of which a heating medium circulates; a plate provided between the inner surface of the external conductor and the outer surface of the internal conductor; a cooling part for cooling the plate from the external conductor side to the freezing point of water or lower; and a heat insulating part provided on the part at which the internal conductor and the plate are connected, the heat insulating part having lower thermal conductivity than that of the internal conductor. The plate is connected to the internal conductor via the heat insulating part.

Input coupler for accelerating cavity and accelerator

A processing apparatus and a processing method with which an object-to-be-cut is processed, and a high-precision superconducting acceleration cavity can be formed. The processing apparatus forming a half cell by processing a hollow workpiece, and is provided with a securing jig, a rotational drive portion rotating the securing jig, and a cutting tool. The securing jig having a plurality of members, when cutting a first portion-to-be-cut of the workpiece, the plurality of members are combined in a first pattern so that the first portion-to-be-cut is exposed, when cutting a second portion-to-be-cut of the workpiece, the plurality of members are combined in a second pattern so that the second portion-to-be-cut is exposed, and the combination of the plurality of members is changed from the first pattern to the second pattern without removing the workpiece.

Processing apparatus and processing method

Provided is a port member of a superconducting accelerating cavity, the entire size of which is reduced and which has enhanced working efficiency to achieve a lower manufacturing cost. In a pickup port () of a superconducting accelerating cavity, one end is joined by welding to a port portion () formed on a higher order mode coupler () which is provided at an end of a cavity body, while the other end is joined by flange coupling to a pickup antenna (). A port body () and a flange portion () are integrally formed of a niobium material having low purity or a niobium alloy containing a component other than niobium at a percentage lower than a prescribed percentage. The flange coupling is achieved with use of a quick coupling ().

Port member of superconducting accelerating cavity

A movable vacuum welding device () includes a vacuum chamber () having an edge section () opposite to a surface of a welding target (T) and forming a vacuum space between the surface of the welding target (T) and the vacuum chamber (), a seal section () interposed between the edge section () and the welding target (T) throughout the entire circumference of the edge section (), a welding head () configured to perform welding on the surface of the welding target (T) in the vacuum space, and a preload unit () configured to previously apply a load to the seal section (). The seal section () includes a first seal member () formed of an elastic material and extending along the edge section (), and a second seal member () disposed at least a rear side in a relative moving direction in which a welding bead (W) passes and having higher flexibility than the first seal member ().

Movable vacuum welding device

A method for manufacturing an outer conductor of a higher-order-mode coupler for a superconducting acceleration cavity. The outer conductor includes a cylindrical main body that is open at one end surface thereof, a port formed in a side of the main body so as to penetrate therethrough, and a protruding part formed outside another end surface of the main body. The method includes a deep drawing step of deep-drawing a metal plate to form the main body, a port-forming step of flanging the thus-formed main body to form the port, and a first machining step of machining the main body to adjust an outer shape thereof.

Method for manufacturing outer conductor

A welding equipment that forms an end part includes a vacuum chamber; a holding member that is installed in the vacuum chamber and that holds the end part in which a welding groove is formed by placing a half cell, an end plate, and a beam pipe next to each other; a window that is installed in a top-end surface portion of the vacuum chamber, which intersects with an axial center of the end part, and that forms a portion thereof; a laser radiating head that is installed outside the vacuum chamber and that radiates a laser beam into an internal space of the end part through the window; and a mirror member that is installed in the internal space of the end part and that adjusts a reflected laser beam, formed by reflecting the laser beam, so as to be oriented perpendicular to the welding groove.

Provided is a method of manufacturing a superconducting accelerator cavity in which a plurality of half cells having opening portions (equator portions and iris portions) at both ends thereof in an axial direction are placed one after another in the axial direction, contact portions where the corresponding opening portions come into contact with each other are joined by welding, and thus, a superconducting accelerator cavity is manufactured, the half cells to be joined are arranged so that the axial direction thereof extends in a vertical direction; and concave portions that are concave towards an outer side are also formed at inner circumferential surfaces located below the contact portions of the half cells positioned at a bottom; and the contact portions are joined from outside by penetration welding.

Method of manufacturing superconducting accelerator cavity

A superconducting accelerating cavity production method with which a high-quality superconducting accelerating cavity can be produced with a compact device configuration and at low cost. The method of producing a superconducting accelerating cavity () includes arranging, in an axial direction (L), a plurality of half-cells () having openings at both ends in the axial direction and joining the openings to one another by welding. The half-cells () are joined by welding with a laser beam from the inside of the superconducting accelerating cavity () in which a vacuum atmosphere is created.

Superconducting accelerating cavity production method

A welding method of welding a cylindrical stiffening member to an outer circumference of a superconducting accelerator tube body uses a laser beam in a process of manufacturing a superconducting accelerator tube. The laser beam is configured such that a distribution profile of energy density on an irradiated face to which the laser beam is irradiated is a Gaussian distribution profile having a peak section, and the energy density of the peak section is 5.8&#xd7;10W/cmor more.

A method for producing a superconducting acceleration cavity having a stabilized quality, by which production cost is reduced by reducing the number of welding points. A dumbbell-shaped dumbbell cell () is formed by forming a recessed iris portion () around the central part of a cylindrical pipe made of a superconducting material, a cup-shaped half cell () is formed by enlarging one opening and reducing the other opening of the cylindrical pipe made of a superconducting material, a plurality of dumbbell cells () are coupled by welding, and the each half cell () is welded to the opposite ends of the plurality of dumbbell cell (), thus producing a superconducting acceleration cavity ().
