Provided is a slitter device capable of quickly supplying metal bands to a cutter stand and cutting same into strips with high speed and accuracy. The metal band slitter device comprises an unwinder that unwinds a metal band wound into a coil, a cutter stand that cuts the unwound metal band into narrow width strips, and a winder that winds the cut metal band into coils. The metal band slitter device is configured to comprise a tension adjustment unit on the winder side between the unwinder and the cutter stand that provides a constant tension to the metal band and a tension separating unit on the cutter stand side that separates the constant tension on the input side and tension on the output side.

Catalyst combustion system, fuel reforming system, and fuel cell system

A fuel cell system provided with a secondary battery supplying electric power to an outer load and a fuel cell supplying power at least to the secondary battery is controlled such that, by calculating charge allowance amount level in the secondary battery and calculating an excess amount of electric power that can be generated by an excess amount of fuel gas produced in the fuel cell system when operation of the fuel cell is stopped, the charge allowance amount level in the secondary battery is equal to or higher than the excess amount of electric power.

Fuel cell system and method

This invention relates to a toroidal type continuously variable transmission in which a plurality of power rollers are squeezed between an input cone disk and an output cone disk which are arranged upon the same axis of rotation. The gyration angles of the power rollers, in other words the speed change ratio, are changed by pistons driving the power rollers in directions perpendicular to the axis of rotation in response to hydraulic pressure. Hydraulic pressure is supplied from a speed change control valve via hydraulic fluid conduits. By providing, for example, orifices in hydraulic fluid conduits so as to exert resistance against movement of the pistons due to external disturbance, the influence exerted by displacement of a particular one of the power rollers due to external disturbance upon the other ones of the power rollers is minimized, and thus the spoiling of the synchronization of the power rollers by vibration is prevented.

Toroidal type continuously variable transmission

A continuously variable transmission comprises a transmission unit and a casing. The transmission unit includes input and output disks on a main shaft and friction rollers arranged around axes of the disks and supported by trunnions. For controlling the speed ratio of the disks, the trunnions are urged by pistons and moved synchronously along own swinging axes perpendicular to the rotating axes of the friction rollers. Neighboring ends of the trunnions are mutually connected by linkage members and pivotally supported by the casing. The pistons can be fitted into the casing 1 from the outer side thereof, and can be detachably connected to the trunnions in the casing. The transmission is provided with a linkage support member, which can be inserted in the casing from an end opening thereof and fixed thereto perpendicular to an axis of the casing. When assembling the transmission, the main shaft is passed through a penetrating hole of the linkage support member, and the linkage members are pivotally supported by the linkage support member. Then, the disks are tightened in mutually closing directions, forming a sub-assembly of the transmission unit 5 without the pistons. Then, the subassembly is inserted in the casing from the end opening thereof and fixed to the casing perpendicularly thereto, while the pistons are fitted into the casing from the outer side thereof and connected to the trunnions of the subassembly in the casing respectively.

Transmission having a friction-roller-type continuously variable

A continuously variable transmission includes friction rollers which are arranged in a toroidal groove formed between input and output disks and rotatably supported by roller support members which are driven by a hydraulic cylinder device. A speed ratio control device includes a speed ratio control valve for controlling a hydraulic pressure to be supplied to the hydraulic cylinder device. A step motor has an angular position determined in accordance with a speed ratio as instructed by the speed ratio control device, and serves to drive the valve sleeve in a predetermined axial direction. A low switch serves to stop the valve sleeve, and effects a changeover between different positions of the switch when the valve sleeve has reached a position where the speed ratio becomes the lowest.

Friction-roller-type continuously variable transmission

A shift control system for a continuously variable traction roller transmission controls the feedback to a shift control valve so that a ratio b/a of a variation 'b' mm of a feedback amount to the shift control valve for 1 mm of a displacement of a power roller to a variation 'a' mm of the feedback amount to the shift control valve for 1 degree of an inclination of the power roller is in a range given by: 1.74R.sup.4/5 -3.90.ltoreq.b/a.ltoreq.3.09R.sup.5/9 +30.51.

Shift control system for continuously variable traction roller

An apparatus for dewatering primary dewatered sludge pieces conditioned with dewatering powders comprises: a first member having a recess and a path communicating with the recess, a fluid-tight diaphragm mounted over the recess thereby defining a fluid chamber with which the path communicates, a second member having a filtrate member, and a filter member provided over the filtrate chamber. At least one of the first member and the second member is mounted to bring them into fluid-tight contact with each other, and the primary dewatered sludge pieces into a cavity defined by the diaphragm and the filter member. A pressure fluid then is fed to the fluid chamber, thereby isostatically compressing the primary dewatered sludge pieces to remove the water contained therein without substantially destroying the inner structures of the primary dewatered sludge pieces. Because of this isostatic pressure exerted by the diaphragm, the sludge pieces are compressed highly uniformly, resulting in high dewatering efficiency.

Apparatus for dewatering primary dewatered sludge pieces

Sludge having a water content of less than 60% by weight is obtained by disintegrating primary dewatered sludge in a disintegrator to form sludge pieces having a layer of a dry dewatering additive while preventing the sludge from becoming like a slurry and then compressing the sludge pieces. The sludge thus obtained is combustible without requiring any further fuel.
