Provided is a polyester film for foldable displays that is unlikely to have cracks in the folding portion with the aim of providing a foldable display that is excellent in mass production applicability, and that does not have image distortion that may appear in the folding portion after the display is repeatedly folded. The polyester film has a thickness of 10 to 80 μm, a refractive index in the bending direction of 1.590 to 1.620, a refractive index in the direction of a folding portion of 1.670 to 1.700, a refractive index in the thickness direction of 1.520 or less, and a density of 1.380 g/cmor more, wherein the bending direction refers to a direction orthogonal to the folding portion of the polyester film to be folded.

Polyester film and use thereof

Provided is a foldable display that is excellent in mass production applicability and unlikely to have image distortion at the folding portion of the display after repeated folding, as well as a mobile device equipped therewith. The foldable display contains a surface protection film and a polarizer. The surface protection film is composed of a polyester film, and the angle made by the slow axis of the polyester film with the absorption axis of the polarizer is 10 to 80°. The polyester film has a refractive index in the bending direction of 1.590 to 1.620, a refractive index in the direction of a folding portion of 1.670 to 1.700, a refractive index in the thickness direction of 1.520 or less, and a density of 1.380 g/cmor more, wherein the bending direction refers to a direction orthogonal to the folding portion of the polyester film to be folded.

It is provided that a method for producing a biaxially oriented polyester film that can be used for industrial and packaging applications. A method for producing a biaxially oriented polyester film, comprising: a step of feeding a polyester resin into an extruder, a step of extruding the molten polyester resin from an extruder to obtain a molten resin sheet at 250 to 310&#xb0; C., a step of attaching the molten resin sheet closely to a cooling roll by an electrostatic application method to obtain an unstretched sheet, and a step of biaxially stretching the unstretched sheet, wherein the polyester resin fulfills the following (A) to (C): (A) the polyester resin comprises a polyethylene furandicarboxylate resin composed of a furandicarboxylic acid and ethylene glycol; (B) an intrinsic viscosity of the polyester resin is 0.50 dL/g or more; (C) a melt specific resistance value at 250&#xb0; C. of the polyester resin is 3.0&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm or less.

Method for producing polyester film having furandicarboxylate unit

An object is to provide a laminate having excellent lamination strength that includes a polyester film having a furandicarboxylate unit and a heat-sealable resin layer, and to provide a packaging bag including the same. A laminate including a polyester film and a heat-sealable resin layer, wherein the polyester film is a biaxially oriented polyester film containing a polyethylene furandicarboxylate resin composed of a furandicarboxylic acid and ethylene glycol, a plane orientation coefficient &#x394;P of the film is 0.100 or more and 0.160 or less, a thickness of the film is 1 &#x3bc;m or more and 300 &#x3bc;m or less, a heat shrinkage rate of the film is 10% or less when heated at 150&#xb0; C. for 30 minutes, and lamination strength of the laminate is 2.0 N/15 mm or more.

It is provided that a polyester film excellent in heat resistant dimension stability, impact-resistant strength properties, easy-slipping properties, mechanical properties, transparency, and gas barrier performance, and a film roll obtained by winding up this polyester film. A polyester film includes at least one layer mainly including a polyester resin containing a dicarboxylic acid component including furandicarboxylic acid as a main component and a glycol component including ethylene glycol as a main component; and the polyester film has a plane orientation coefficient &#x394;P of not less than 0.005 and not more than 0.200, a thickness of not less than 1 &#x3bc;m and not more than 300 &#x3bc;m, a heat shrinkage rate of 3.2% or less in each of the MD direction and the TD direction at 150&#xb0; C. for 30 minutes, and a layer containing at least one additive.

Polyester film

To provide a furandicarboxylate unit-containing polyester film usable for industrial and packaging purposes. The film of the present invention is a polyester film, which is a biaxially oriented film of a polyester resin including a dicarboxylic acid component containing mainly a furandicarboxylic acid and a glycol component containing mainly ethylene glycol, wherein the film has a plane orientation coefficient &#x394;P of not less than 0.005 and not more than 0.200 and a film thickness of not thinner than 1 micro meter and not thicker than 300 micro meters.

The invention provides a polyester film for the protection of a back surface of a solar cell which, when applied to a silicon thin film solar cell, exhibits excellent durability even under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions and long term thermal stability. The polyester film (a) contains a polyester, as a main constituent, obtained by polymerization using a polycondensation catalyst containing aluminum and/or its compound as well as a phosphorus compound having an aromatic group in the molecule; (b) has a whiteness degree of 50 or higher; (c) contains 3 to 50% by mass of fine particles with a mean particle diameter of 0.1 to 3 &#x3bc;m; and (d) has an acid value from not lower than 1 (eq/ton) and not higher than 30 (eq/ton).

Polyester film for the protection of back surfaces of solar cells

Disclosed is a heat shrinkable polyester film formed from a polyester resin that is mainly composed of ethylene terephthalate and contains 3-12% by mole (inclusive) of one or more monomer components, which can be amorphous components, relative to all the polyester resin components, in which the heat shrinkable polyester film has a main shrinkage direction which is the width direction. The heat shrinkable polyester film is characterized in that the shrinkage in 80&#xb0; C. glycerin, the shrinkage in 130&#xb0; C. glycerin and the tensile breaking strength in the longitudinal direction are controlled within specific ranges.

Heat shrinkable polyester film, method for producing same, and packaged body

A film roll of a heat-shrinkable polyester film characterized in that the heat-shrinkable polyester film meets the following requirements (1) and (2). (1) When samples are cut off therefrom at an almost equal interval along the longitudinal direction, and immersed in hot water at 85&#xb0; C. for 10 seconds, subsequently in water at 25&#xb0; C. and withdrawn, heat-shrinkage percentages in the maximum shrinkage direction of all the samples are 20% or more. (2) When raw polymers used for production of the film above comprises of a major constitutional unit and one or more sub constitutional units different therefrom; and the content of the primary sub constitutional unit is determined, the content of the primary sub constitutional unit in each sample is more than 7 mole % in 100% of all constitutional units, and when an average of the contents of the primary sub constitutional unit is calculated, the contents thereof of all the samples fall within a range of &#xb1;2 mole % relative to the average.

Heat-shrinkable polyester film roll and a process for producing the same

In heat-shrinkable polyester films, the content of 1,4-cyclohexane dimethanol is 10 to 50% by mole based on the polyhydric alcohol component and that the heat shrinkage factors of a 10 cm square sample of the films in (A) hot water of 75&#xb0; C., (B) hot water of 85&#xb0; C., and (C) hot water of 95&#xb0; C. are 30 to 40%, 50 to 60%, and 65 to 77%, respectively. The films can be produced by drawing under specified conditions.

Heat-shrinkable polyester films

The present invention provides a polyester film superior in heat resistance, chemical resistance, insulation property and thermal dimensional stability, and suitable for application to fields associated with boiling or retort treatment, which require tenacity, pinhole resistance, bending resistance, bag breakage resistance on dropping, impact resistance and the like, fields requiring thermoforming or vacuum forming, and various uses such as packaging bags for water-containing food, pharmaceutical products and the like. [Solving Means] The polyester film characteristically shows an initial elastic modulus in at least one direction of 2.5-10 GPa, an impact strength of 40-10000 J/mm, a thermal shrinkage in at least one direction at 150&#xb0; C. of &#x2212;0.5% to 6%, a haze of 0.001% to 7%, and an absolute value of the difference in the thermal shrinkage between the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction of not more than 1.1%.

A polyester film for forming which is excellent in formability especially at low temperatures and low pressures and in solvent resistance and heat resistance and is reduced in environmental burden. The polyester film for forming is a biaxially oriented polyester film comprising a copolyester as a component, and is characterize in that (1) the stress at 100% elongation of the film in each of the machine direction and the transverse direction is 10 to 1,000 MPa at 25&#xb0; C. and is 1 to 100 MPa at 100&#xb0; C.; (2) the storage viscoelasticity (E') of the film in each of the machine direction and the transverse direction is 10 to 1,000 MPa at 100&#xb0; C. and is 5 to 40 MPa at 180&#xb0; C.; and (3) the degree of heat distortion (initial load, 49 mN) of the film in the machine direction is &#x2212;3% to +3% at 175&#xb0; C.

Polyester film for forming

A biaxially oriented polyamide laminate film having a layered structure of A/B, A/B/A or A/B/C, layer A having no projections with a height of 0.27 &#x3bc;m or higher on the surface, or having a density of projections with a height of 0.27 &#x3bc;m or higher on the surface of 200 projections/mm, and the film exhibiting a maximum dimensional change of 4% or less during immersion in 95&#xb0; C. hot water, a maximum dimensional change of 6% or less after withdrawal from the hot water, and a maximum dimensional change of 4% or less after heat treatment in dry hot air at 160&#xb0; C.; and a process for producing the same. This film reduces the differences in physical properties in the width direction that occurs in a tenter and exhibits excellent adhesive properties, resistance to fatigue from flexing and operability, and can be provided economically.
