Provided are a low-temperature heat-curable adhesive composition for structures which is able to cure at a low temperature in a short time, is reduced in groove defects after open-state standing, and is excellent in rust-preventive property, corrosion resistance, shower resistance, and workability; and a method for producing an automotive structure using the adhesive composition. The low-temperature heat-curable adhesive composition for structures includes (A) an epoxy resin, (B) a micro-encapsulated curing agent, (C) a hygroscopic agent, (D) a viscosity modifier, and (E) a stabilizer. The hygroscopic agent (C) is calcium oxide, which suitably includes both a surface-treated grade and a non-surface-treated grade.

To provide prepreg having high thermostability and a molded body (fiber reinforced composite) obtained from the prepreg, the prepreg is formed by impregnating a reinforced fiber having an elastic modulus of 100 to 900 GPa with an epoxy resin composition including the following Components A to D so as to have a resin content within a range of 25 to 50 mass %: Component A: an epoxy resin having an oxazolidone ring structure in a molecule thereof; Component B: an epoxy resin that is liquid at 30&#xb0; C.; Component C: a diblock copolymer having a B-M structure, wherein M is a block including at least 50 mass % of methyl methacrylate, B is a block immiscible with the epoxy resins and the block M, a glass transition temperature of the block B being 20&#xb0; C. or lower; and Component D: dicyandiamide, or an amine curing agent that is a derivative of dicyandiamide.

A reinforcing body is disposed in a closed cross sectional portion constituted by one or more vehicle body components. The reinforcing body is provided with a joining portion to be joined to the vehicle body components. The joining portion includes hard connecting portions connected to the vehicle body components in an abutting state, and a soft connecting portion connected to the vehicle body components via a vibration damping member. The storage shear rigidity (KB') of the vibration damping member is set in the range: 800 N/mm&#x3c;KB&#x2032;&#x3c;57500 N/mm.

A gap is provided at joining faces of a pair of metal works with an uneven shape when the metal works contact one another for joining. An adhesive agent having a chain-reacting curing reaction function is disposed within the gap. The adhesive agent is cured by an autogenously-generated curing reaction heat caused by an outer energy and an additional heat that is successively generated by the autogenously-generated curing reaction heat within the adhesive agent. A welding portion, where the works contact one another substantially directly, is welded by a laser beam, and the above-described energy for causing the autogenously-generated curing reaction heat for the adhesive agent is provided by the laser beam.
