A device for the catalytic purification of automotive exhaust gas includes at least one inner casing housing an assembly of corrugated, or corrugated and flat, thin metal sheets carrying a catalyst thereon, and disposed between a gas inlet and a gas outlet which are adapted for connection to an exhaust pipe extending from an engine. An outer casing surrounds the inner casing in a speced apart relation therefrom, and is joined to it in a gastight way. The inner and outer casings define therebetween a closed space filled with a heat storing material which can collect and store the heat of exhaust gas.

Herein disclosed is a connector for connecting a slender pipe engageably, which connector comprises: a generally cylindrical connector body having a communication hole, a radially reduced chamber leading to the communication hole, a radially enlarged chamber stepped from and leading to the reduced chamber, a notched aperture formed in the circumferential wall of the enlarged chamber, and a retaining wall formed at the rear end of the body; a seal ring member fitted in the reduced chamber; and a retainer adapted to engage with the retaining wall and having a pawl wall made engageable with an annular bulging wall, which is formed in the vicinity of the connected end of the pipe when the pipe is inserted for connection into the connector body. The retainer has a block-shaped pawl wall formed with an engagement face at its front and a diverging face in the vicinity of the rear portion of its inner face. At least one of the back face of the pawl wall and the retaining wall has a retaining portion. The retainer has its retaining face engaged with the annular bulging wall of the inserted pipe whereas the pawl wall and the retaining wall are retained on each other by the retaining portion; when the pawl wall is fitted in the notched aperture.

Slender pipe connecting connector

A twin motor fan unit is provided with two fan members mounted to parallel rotational shafts of a motor. The motor fan unit includes a rectifying plate to partition the fan members. The rectifying plate prevents turbulence at the rear faces of the respective fans that would otherwise be caused by mutual interference of the air stream leaving the fan. As a result, the motor fan unit enables an increased quantity of air to flow through the motor fan unit and also achieves a reduction in operating noise.

The piping connector according to the present invention is comprised of a conducting pipe having an annular expanded wall in the proximity of an end part of the pipe, a main body of a joint provided with a structure formed at one end thereof for accepting the conducting pipe thereinto and provided with a circulating hole formed in the axial direction on the other end part thereof in communication with the conducting pipe mentioned above, a sealing means to be fit into the inside area of the main body of the joint, and a retaining means installed inside the main body of the joint, wherein the retaining means mentioned above is comprised of an arm part formed of an elastic body in a shape resembling that of the letter C, and a socket unit comprised of a plurality of suspending parts projecting from the arm part in the direction of the inside diameter and inserted into notched windows formed in the main body of the joint and disposed so as to be put into their direct contact with the annular expanded wall of the conducting pipe, so that the socket unit opens and closes in the radial direction in reaction to the insertion of the conducting pipe and holds the conducting pipe in its proper position in collaboration with the main body of the joint. Further, the construction of the piping connector may be effectively modified within the technical scope of the present invention as described in the present Specification.

Herein disclosed is a piping/wiring clamping device which has a simple structure but can fix a piping/wiring element stably while allowing a tentative fixing. The clamping device comprises: a clamping wall formed by curing a band generally at its center for clamping at least one piping/wiring element fixedly; a pair of mounting walls which are formed to extend continuously from the two ends of the clamping wall and at least one of which is arcuated; engaging means formed at the extending end portions of the mounting walls for engaging with each other at their ends when the two extending end portions are pressed toward each other; and mounting holes individually formed in the mounting walls and adapted to overlap each other when the mounting walls are held in contact with each other. The two ends of the engagement means are brought into engagement with each other to hold the elasticity of one of the mounting walls with respect to the other when the extending end portions of the mounting walls are pressed to contact with each other while holding the one piping/wiring element. The end portion of the one mounting wall further pushes and fixes the piping/wiring element on the clamping wall, as the one mounting wall is pushed against the elasticity of the other mounting wall, to fix the element on a stationary portion through the mounting holes.

A joint for coupling small-diameter pipes, comprises a body including a cylindrical joint wall having a bore, and a cylindrical wall defining a stepped enlarged chamber in communication with the bore and receiving seals and a bushing behind the seals, the cylindrical wall having a rear end extending outwardly to provide a flange, and the bushing having an open end, a collar having a rear end extending inwardly to provide a locking wall and a front end extending inwardly to provide a engagement wall engaged with the flange, and a plurality of resilient retainer each having one end engaged with the open end of the bushing and the other end bent to a V-shape to provide a pawl. When coupling is effected, a bent portion of the retainer is brought into engagement with the locking wall, and the pawl is brought into engagement with an annular projection wall formed on one end of a pipe inserted into the enlarged chamber.

Herein disclosed is a connector for connecting slender piping members. The connector comprises a connector body and a separate socket body. The connector body is formed axially therethrough with a smaller-diameter chamber leading to a communication hole in a connecting cylindrical wall at the leading end and a stepped larger-diameter chamber at the back of the smaller-diameter chamber. The larger-diameter chamber has its cylindrical rear circumference formed into an inwardly inclined retaining wall. The connector body has seal ring members fitted in the smaller-diameter chamber and a bushing member fitted at the back of the seal ring members. The socket body has generally L-shaped elastic pawl walls projecting integrally from the retaining wall in the larger-diameter chamber and opposed in the inserting direction to an annular wall at the rear end. The socket body has its slope retained in the vicinity of the root of the L-shaped bent portion. An annular ridged wall formed in the vicinity of the connecting end portion of a piping member fitted in the larger-diameter chamber is elastically retained under the pipe connected state by the leading ends of the pawl walls.

Herein disclosed is a connector for connecting slender piping members. The connector comprises: a connector body and a separate socket body. The connector body is formed axially therethrough with a stepped smaller-diameter chamber, which is expanded to lead to a communication hole formed in a connecting cylindrical wall at the leading end, and a stepped larger-diameter chamber which is positioned at the back of the smaller-diameter chamber. The connector body is further formed with a pair of engagement holes or slots opposed to the circumferential wall of the larger-diameter chamber to form a retaining wall at the circumference of the rear end. The connector body has seal ring members at the side of the smaller-diameter chamber and a bushing member at the back of the seal ring members. The separate socket body has a pair of elastic pawl walls projected from the circumferential wall of the axial through hole in the larger-diameter chamber and inclined forward opposed to the front portion of the assembly direction. The socket body has its rear end annular circumference retained on the retaining wall. The piping member is formed in the vicinity of its connecting end with an annular ridged wall which is retained elastically by the leading ends of the elastic pawl walls when the piping member is in its connected state. The socket body includes: a cylindrical wall forming the root of the elastic pawl walls; cut-away apertures formed in positions opposed to the engagement holes in the vicinity of the intermediate portion of the cylindrical wall; tongue-shaped walls positioned in the cut-away apertures and leading integrally to the elastic pawl walls and the leading end of the cylindrical wall; and a stepped engagement groove formed backward and having its rear end on the retaining wall.

Connector for connecting slender piping members with cantilever mechanism

There is disclosed a compact connector for stably connecting a metallic or resinous pipe or tube having a relatively small diameter less than about 20 mm, the pipe having an outwardly swelling annular wall. The connector comprises a connector body, seal members, a bush member, and a socket body fabricated independent of the connector body. The connector body has a small chamber in which the seal members and the bush member are inserted. The socket body has an annular cylindrical wall, arms extending circumferentially, and a pair of rectangular claw walls. The claw walls have tapering surfaces provided with openings at their rear ends. When the socket body is inserted in the connector body, the front surfaces of the claw walls are brought into resilient contact with the swelling annular wall of the pipe. The rear surfaces of the claw walls engage the rear end surface of the connector body.

Connector for connecting thin pipe

There is disclosed a compact connector for stably connecting a metallic or resinous pipe or tube having a relatively small diameter of about less than 20 mm, the pipe having an outwardly swelling annular wall. The connector comprises a connector body, seal members, and a socket body fabricated independent of the connector body. The connector body has a small chamber in which the seal members are fitted. The socket body has a pair of protruding resilient claw walls, an annular wall pushing the seal members, and arms extending radially outwardly and rearwardly. When the pipe is connected, the front surfaces of claw walls are brought into resilient contact with the swelling annular wall of the pipe. The rear surfaces of the claw walls engage the rear end surface of the connector body.

Connector for connecting thin pipe with blocks formed on claw walls

A connector for slender piping members is disclosed. A spacer, seal rings and a bushing are inserted into the end of one piping member to be connected. The leading end portion of the one piping member is fitted in the outer circumference of the bushing. The end portion of the other piping member to be connected is pushed into the axial core of the bushing. An annular flange portion formed on the outer circumference of the other piping member is held in abutting engagement with an annular wall of a socket body, which in turn is abutted against the front face of the bushing. The circumferential wall portion of the one piping member is clamped by stepped oblique walls inside the connector body. The socket body has a plurality of elastic pawl walls projecting obliquely in the connecting direction. An annular wall formed integrally with the pawl walls is engaged by a retaining wall of the connector body. Thus, the piping members are connected by engaging the flanged wall of the piping member with the pawl walls of the socket body.

Snap-fit connector for connecting slender piping members at end portions

A joint comprises a body including a cylindrical front wall having an inner bore, a small diameter chamber extending from the bore and having a diameter larger than that of the cylindrical wall, a large diameter chamber extending rearwardly from the small diameter chamber, and a rear, engagement wall, seal rings disposed in the small diameter chamber through a spacer, and a discrete socket having a rear end engaged with the engagement wall of the body and a front end projecting to provide a plurality of claws. The claws are resiliently engageable with an annular projection of a pipe when the pipe is inserted into the joint. The small diameter chamber has an annular step on its inner periphery. The spacer includes an annular projection for engagement with the step of the small diameter chamber. A bushing is disposed behind the seal rings.

Joint

A connector used in connecting a resin tube and a metallic pipe of comparatively small diameter comprises a connector body and a socket member. The connector body has a through hole and an accepting chamber axially formed therein. A rear wall portion of the accepting chamber defines a lock wall. The socket member adapted to be seated in the accepting chamber has an axial cutoff formed in a peripheral wall thereof to assume a substantial C-shape in section. The peripheral wall of the socket member, whose one end is adapted to abut on an expanded portion of the pipe, has a pair of pawl portions integral therewith extending obliquely outward on the side of the other end. The distal end of each of the paired pawl portions is adapted to resiliently engage with the lock wall.
