A reinforcement sleeve for connecting a plurality of optical fibers to each other by fusion splice includes: a base member; a cover member that sandwiches a fusion splice portion of the plurality of optical fibers between the cover member and the base member; a first adhesive layer disposed between the base member and the plurality of optical fibers; and a second adhesive layer disposed between the cover member and the plurality of optical fibers. A width of the reinforcement sleeve is defined by a reinforcement sleeve standard relating to a reinforcement sleeve, and a height of the reinforcement sleeve is 1/n of a height defined by the reinforcement sleeve standard, where n is an integer equal to or larger than 2.

A grounding structure of an optical fiber cable that includes a sheath, a plurality of optical fibers housed in the sheath, and a first tension member and a second tension member embedded in the sheath so as to interpose the optical fibers therebetween in a radial direction includes: a conductive member that electrically connects a first extending portion of the first tension member and a second extending portion of the second tension member. The first extending portion and the second extending portion extends from an end portion of the sheath. A length of the second extending portion in a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber cable is greater than a length of the first extending portion in the longitudinal direction. The second extending portion is held by a tension member holding portion and is electrically connected to a grounding circuit.

Grounding structure of optical fiber cable

A fiber arrangement member includes: a tubular housing that houses a plurality of optical fibers; and a plurality of guide portions extending from a first end in an axial direction of the housing toward side areas of the first end. The guide portions extend from the housing in different directions from each other crossing an axial line of the housing. The guide portions comprise guide grooves that house the optical fibers and communicate with an inner space of the housing. The grooves are open at sides of the grooves opposite to a second end in the axial direction of the housing on entire lengths in extending directions of the grooves. The grooves selectively house the optical fibers extended from the first end in the axial direction of the housing. The optical fibers housed in one of the grooves move into another of the grooves.

An optical connector retaining unit includes: an optical connector retaining member that retains an optical connector of a distal end of an optical fiber in a connection standby state being optically connected to nothing; and a reflecting section that reflects visible light emitted from the distal end of the optical fiber after led into a proximal end of the optical fiber opposite to the distal end thereof provided with the optical connector, at an inclination angle of 45 degrees or less with respect to an optical axis of the emitted visible light, or a scattering section that scatters visible light emitted from the distal end of the optical fiber such that scattered light includes light within the inclination angle of 45 degrees or less with respect to the optical axis of the emitted visible light.
