An electronic apparatus includes an integrated circuit board on, over, or in which a USB circuit block is provided; a first USB interface; a second USB interface; a printed circuit board on which a source clock circuit configured to output a source clock is provided; and a ball grid array that includes first, second, and third ball grids for electric coupling between the integrated circuit board and the printed circuit board. The first ball grid electrically couples the USB circuit block and the first USB interface to each other. The second ball grid electrically couples the USB circuit block and the second USB interface to each other. The third ball grid electrically couples the source clock circuit and the USB circuit block to each other. The third ball grid is located between the first ball grid and the second ball grid.

A printing apparatus includes a printing section performing printing, and a USB-Type-C interface configured to perform switching to a first state in which a printing operation is executed or a second state in which the power is supplied to the external device. The USB-Type-C interface includes a state identification terminal held at a first potential indicating that the USB-Type-C interface is coupled in the first state or a second potential indicating that the USB-Type-C interface is coupled in the second state. The state identification terminal is periodically switched between the first potential and the second potential during a unit time when the external device is not coupled to the USB-Type-C interface, and in the unit time, a time at which the state identification terminal is held at the second potential is longer than a time at which the state identification terminal is held at the first potential.

An electronic apparatus includes an integrated circuit board; a printed circuit board electrically coupled to first and second external circuits; and a ball grid array that couples the integrated circuit board and the printed circuit board, includes a first group including pieces of first ball grid, and includes a second group including pieces of second ball grid. The number of the pieces of first ball grid is larger than the number of the pieces of second ball grid. A printing apparatus includes: a printing section including a plurality of printing elements that performs printing on a medium; a power supply circuit supplying power to the printing section; a control circuit controlling the printing section and the power supply circuit; and a USB-Type-C interface configured to couple an external device and including a data transmission/reception terminal, a power input/output terminal, and a state identification terminal. When the state identification terminal detects that the external device that receives the power via the power input/output terminal is coupled, and the printing section performs printing, an amount of power supplied to the external device is large in a case in which a drive rate of the plurality of printing elements is low as compared with a case in which the drive rate of the plurality of printing elements is high.

The thermal printer includes a heating element, and a voltage supply circuit that supplies a drive voltage and a test voltage to the heating element. The voltage supply circuit includes a drive voltage supply circuit that is coupled to the heating element and that turns ON the supply of the drive voltage to the heating element, a test voltage supply circuit that is coupled to the heating element and that turns ON the supply of the test voltage to the heating element, a drive voltage stop circuit setting the supply of the drive voltage of the drive voltage supply circuit OFF, and a test voltage stop circuit setting the supply of the test voltage of the test voltage supply circuit OFF.

A thermal printer with head elements enables accurately determining the state of deterioration of the head elements, and minimizing the amount of stored data. A printing device has a thermal head having multiple head elements; a voltage application circuit configured to apply a printing voltage and an inspection voltage to the head elements; a head controller configured to control the thermal head and the voltage application circuit; and data storage configured to store a conversion table relationally storing a divided voltage and a resistance of the head elements. At a specific timing, the head controller applies the inspection voltage to the head elements by the voltage application circuit, measures the divided voltage of the head elements, converts the measured divided voltage to resistance based on the conversion table, acquires deterioration information based on the converted resistance, and stores the deterioration information in the data storage.
