A car door hinge comprises a rotating member 2 hinged on a fixed member I by means of a hinge pin 3. One end 5 of a wire spring 4 is attached to a point on the rotating member 2 distant from the hinge pin, and the other end 8 of the wire spring 4 is attached to a point on the fixed member 1 inside a sector of a circle defined by the hinge pin 3 and an arc subtended at the hinge pin 3 which is described by the end 5 as the rotating member rotates. A spring restoring force therefore acts during the opening and closing of the door so that the door always opens and closes properly. Moreover, the spring occupies a minimum of space, and the rotation of the door is stopped at a predetermined angle.

An attitude control system for an antenna on a mobile body is comprised of a supporting device for supporting the antenna in such a manner that the antenna is rotatable and is movable in the vertical direction, a driving device for driving the antenna, an attitude change detecting device for detecting a speed of the attitude of the antenna relative to to the source of radio wave, a first control device for controlling the driving device in such a manner that the antenna is driven for cancelling the deviation between the resultant of the attitude change detecting device and a correcting value a receiving device for receiving radio wave which is connected to the antenna, a second control device for changing the attitude of the antenna toward higher receiving level derived from the receiving device and a drift correcting device for renewing the correcting value in such a manner that accumulated vector becomes zero which is the accumulation of a vector upon the changing of the attitude of the antenna.

Attitude control system for antenna on mobile body

A biaxial rotary drive unit drives an antenna Ant on a vehicle for rotation in both azimuthal and elevational directions. A first axis Y represents a vertical axis, and an azimuth turntable 120 is rotatable about the first axis. The second axis X represents a horizontal axis, and the antenna Ant is mounted on the turntable so as to be rotatable about the second axis in the elevational direction. The turntable 120 represents a gear of an increased diameter, which is meshed by a gear 144 of a reduced diameter to be driven thereby for rotation. A cylindrical shaft 116 extends through the center of the larger diameter gear 120. The cylindrical shaft 116 carries a ring gear meshing with a pinion gear 154, which serves driving the cylindrical shaft 116 up and down. The vertical movement of the cylindrical shaft 116 is transmitted through a link 115 to drive the antenna Ant for rotation in the elevational direction. The cylindrical shaft 116 is formed with a flute 116r extending parallel to the first axis Y and in which a rib 120r on the azimuth turntable 120 is fitted, whereby the cylindrical shaft 116 and the link 115 rotates with the azimuth turntable 120.

A mobile telephone apparatus having a conventional key pad, memory for storing telephone numbers at locations identifiable by certain digits and a processor for controlling the auto dialing of telephone numbers in response to a key pad input of the respective digits. The apparatus further includes a capability of receiving telephone numbers transmitted from a remote operator and storing the numbers at memory location that may be auto dialed.

A method of, and apparatus for, controlling the directional aiming of an antenna device including: scanning the antenna along with a conical path and detecting a directional point at which a detected level of reception along the conical path is turned from increasing to decreasing; scanning the antenna along a directional path defined by a center point of the conical path and the directional point, and detecting a signal source point at which a detected level of reception along the directional path is turned from increasing to decreasing; and setting a directional aiming of the antenna at the detected signal source point.

Method of, and apparatus for controlling an antenna device

The attitude of an antenna which is used with an artificial satellite emitting a radio wave is controlled by a combination of the establishment of an antenna attitude in accordance with gyro data, a small range conical scan which is conducted when a reception level is less than a first reference and at or above a second reference and is relatively high for altering the antenna attitude to a direction which provides a higher reception level, and a broader range search scan which is conducted when the reception level is less than the second reference and is relatively low for altering the antenna attitude to a direction which provides a higher reception level. In one manner, in order to reduce an antenna driving time, an antenna attitude is regarded as an optimum if a fluctuation which occurs in the reception level during the small range conical scan is small, and the first reference is updated to a value which is slightly less than a maximum value in the reception levels which are obtained during the conical scan. In second manner, the first reference is a fixed value, and as long as the reception level continuously remains at or above a given value, which may be the first reference, for example, gyro data is initialized at a given time interval in order to prevent an accumulated error in gyro data from increasing. In other words, data representing a start point and a variance from the start point are cleared.

Attitude control system for mobile antenna

A telephone apparatus has abbreviated number input means for inputting an abbreviated number in a predetermined form, password input means for inputting a password in a predetermined form, a telephone number memory section for storing terminating subscribers' telephone numbers in correspondence with combinations of abbreviated numbers and passwords, and a control section for selecting and outputting a terminating subscriber's telephone number from the telephone number memory section in response to a dialing start signal and on the basis of a combination of an abbreviated number and a password included in the dialing start signal. Thus, since the telephone number memory section is accessed on the basis of a combination of an abbreviated number and a password, even if an abbreviated number is known, the corresponding terminating subscriber's telephone number is not read out unless an appropriate password is input. Accordingly, there is no fear of the stored telephone numbers coming to a third person's knowledge.

A telephone apparatus has a telephone set including a wireless handset, a wireless transmitter, a wireless receiver, a signal identifying circuit for discriminating received signals to generate or erase power-on signals, a telephone set power supply circuit having a secondary battery cluster and switch circuits for applying the voltage of the secondary battery cluster to the above-described elements during a predetermined period, a power supply terminal connected to the secondary battery cluster, and a telephone set power supply controlling circuit; a main power supply; a power supply switch; a connection switching circuit for selectively connecting the power supply terminal to the power supply switch or a predetermined load; and a telephone power supply control instructing circuit responsive to the closing of the power supply switch for operating the connection switching circuit to form a connection between the power supply terminal and the predetermined load to transmit a first signal, subsequently operating the connection switching circuit to form a connection between the power supply terminal and the power supply switch to transmit a second signal in response to the opening of the power supply switch.

A telephone system in the vehicle comprises a detectable handset including a microphone and speakers, a pad positioned near a vehicle driver for holding the detachable handset, amplifiers for amplifying a voice signal from the microphone, a position detector for detecting a distance between the handset and the pad, and a gain controller for controlling the gain of the amplifiers in response to the distance detected by the position detector. When the handset is held on the pad, the position detector detects that the handset is positioned adjacent the pad. At this time, the gain controller increases the gain of the amplifiers, and consequently, the voice from the vehicle driver is clearly received. Therefore, a vehicle passenger especially the driver, can use the telephone system while grasping a steering wheel with both hands. When the handset is removed from the pad, the position detector detects that the hand set is positioned remote from the pad. At this time, the gain controller decreases the gain of the amplifiers, and consequently, a vehicle passenger other than the driver can use the telephone system in the same manner as a telephone system in a home.

Telephone system in a vehicle

The location of a vehicle itself is detected on the vehicle in combination with an attitude control of an antenna mounted on the vehicle so that the antenna is directed toward a geostationary satellite. The antenna is driven for rotation about both a horizontal and a vertical shaft. A mean running speed MVb and a mean azimuth MQd of the vehicle over a time interval t.sub.2 are used to calculate corrections .DELTA.Px and .DELTA.Py to the vehicle location, which corrections are added to vehicle location data corresponding to the starting point of the interval t.sub.2. A mean azimuth MQd, a mean speed MVb, a mean roll angle MQr and a mean pitch angle MQp are used to control shifts .DELTA.Qdpo and .DELTA.Qppo which occur in the antenna attitude relative to the geostationary satellite as a result of the running of the vehicle over the time interval t.sub.2, and these shifts are used to correct the antenna attitude. In order to allow the antenna to be maintained as directed toward the geostationary satellite if the vehicle rapidly changes its direction of travel, the antenna attitude is controlled in advance in accordance with rates of change in running speed Vb, throttle opening Op, angle of rotation of steering wheel Sa, roll angle Qr and pitch angle Qd of the vehicle, by detecting these rates of change.
