The present disclosure provides a display apparatus, in which a shift of a transmission or reflection wavelength characteristic due to an incident angle of light is suppressed, and observation of external light necessary for display and image light necessary for display is possible. The display apparatus of the present disclosure includes an image light generator that generates image light by use of light in each of at least a first wavelength band, a second wavelength band, and a third wavelength band, and a light synthesizing part that transmits external light and reflects the image light. The light synthesizing part has a transparent substrate having a concave surface on which the image light is reflected, and a film that is provided on the concave surface of the substrate, reflects the image light, and transmits light in a predetermined wavelength band of the external light.

An image display apparatus includes: a first light source; a second light source; a deflection unit for deflecting the light emitted from the first light source toward a viewing position of the first image and deflecting the light emitted from the second light source toward a viewing position of the second image; and a spatial light modulator that has a plurality of pixels each of which includes a plurality of subpixels, and modulates the light having passed through the deflection unit on the basis of a first image signal and a second image signal. The command signal including a predetermined member of pulse signals has a leading pulse signal for notifying a start of the command signal, a terminal pulse signal for notifying an end of the command signal and a control pulse signal for notifying a content of synchronization control synchronized with the display of the frame images.

The instant application describes display device for switching display mode between first display mode for displaying stereoscopic images with eyewear device which adjusts incident light amounts to the left and right eyes, and second display mode different from the first display mode. The display device includes signal generator which generates timing signals for notifying timings of increasing the incident light amount to the left and right eyes in the first and second display modes or stop signals for stopping the adjustment operation, as control signals for the adjustment operation; and transmitter which transmits the control signals to the eyewear device. During the first display mode, the transmitter transmits the timing signals for the first display mode. Switching operation from the first to second display mode causes the transmitter to transmit the stop signal and then the timing signal for the second display mode to the eyewear device.

An eyeglass device for assisting in viewing a video to be stereoscopically perceived includes an optical filter portion with left and right filters for adjusting light amount to be transmitted to left and right eyes, respectively and a controller for controlling adjustment operation of the light amount by the optical filter portion, wherein the controller switches a control mode of the optical filter portion between a first control mode of controlling the optical filter portion so that the adjustment operation becomes synchronized with display of a frame image of the video and a second control mode of controlling the optical filter so that that the adjustment operation becomes slower than a frame rate of the video to make a viewer perceive the adjustment operation which is asynchronous with the display of the frame image.

An image signal processing apparatus outputs, alternately on a-per frame basis, a first image to be displayed to one of left and right eyes of a viewer and a second image to be displayed to the other eye, and transmits, to a pair of image viewer glasses, a synchronizing signal for controlling timing of opening and closing of optical filters so as to allow the viewer to see the output frames through corresponding eyes. Specifically, the apparatus includes: a persistence amount detecting unit which detects a persistence amount indicating an effect of a first frame in the first image on a second frame in the second image and immediately following the first frame; and an optical-filter adaptive control unit which generates the synchronizing signal indicating timing of opening and closing of the optical filter corresponding to the second frame. The timing is changed based on the persistence amount detected.

The instant application describes a display device for switching a display mode between a first display mode for displaying a stereoscopic image with an eyewear device, and a second display mode, which is different from the first display mode. The display device includes a signal generator, which generates a timing signal for notifying a timing of an increasing period of an incident light amount to left and right eyes or a stop signal for stopping the adjustment operation as a control signal, which is transmitted by a transmitter to the eyewear device. The transmitter transmits the timing signal for the first display mode while the image is displayed in the first display mode. If the display mode is then switched from the first to second display mode, the transmitter sequentially transmits the stop signal and the timing signal for the second display mode to the eyewear device.
