A thermistor material for a short range of low temperature use includes a matrix material composed of nitride-based and/or oxide-based insulating ceramics, conductive particles composed of &#x3b1;-SiC and dispersed in the grain boundary of each crystal grain of the matrix material so as to form an electric conduction path. The thermistor material further contains boron and second conductive particles added thereto, which are composed of a metal or an inorganic compound, having a specific electric resistance value at room temperature lower than that of the &#x3b1;-SiC and a melting point of 1700&#xb0; C. or more. Such a thermistor material is produced by mixing matrix powder, conductive powder, second conductive powder, boron powder, and a sintering agent as necessary such that a temperature coefficient of resistance (B value) and a specific electric resistance value at room temperature are each within a predetermined range, and molding and sintering the resultant mixture.

A temperature sensing element includes a thermistor composed of Si-base ceramics and a pair of metal electrodes bonded onto the surfaces of the thermistor. The metal electrodes contain Cr and a metal element &#x3b1; having a Si diffusion coefficient higher than that of Cr. A diffusion layer is formed in a bonding interface between the thermistor and each metal electrode, the diffusion layer including a silicide of the metal element &#x3b1; in a crystal grain boundary of the Si-base ceramics. A temperature sensor including the diffusion layers is provided. Owing to the diffusion layers, the temperature sensor ensures heat resistance and bonding reliability and enables temperature detection with high accuracy in a temperature range, in particular, of from &#x2212;50&#xb0; C. to 1050&#xb0; C.

The pressure detection device further comprises an electro-functional member attached to either the terminal or the disk spring in which the electro-functional member is changeable its electric resistance due to an impressed pressing force acting thereon. A rotating spraying type coating apparatus having a spraying head attached to a rotating shaft of a rotating drive device, a paint supply passage connected to the proximal end of the spraying head, and a paint radiating portion formed at the distal end of the spraying head to thereby spray paint particles from the paint radiating portion. The apparatus is provided with a partition member which is disposed around the outer periphery of the spraying head in opposing relation to the latter, and at least a pair of air outlet ports which are disposed in such a manner that air is jetted out forwardly from the air outlet ports toward the outer peripheral surface of the partition member. Thus, the direction of spray of paint particles from the paint radiating portion is controlled by means of the jetted air, and it is possible to obtain elliptical and dumbbell-shaped spray patterns which cannot be obtained by the conventional rotating spraying type coating apparatuses.
