A laser weldable PBT-series resin composition and a molded product thereof are provided, in which the composition is weldable uniformly and has high welding strength even when the composition comprises a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) as a base. The laser weldable resin composition comprises 1 to 50 parts by weight of (B) an elastomer (such as a polystyrene-series thermoplastic elastomer or a polyester-series thermoplastic elastomer), 5 to 100 parts by weight of (C) a polycarbonate-series resin, 1 to 10 parts by weight of (D) a plasticizer (e.g., an aromatic polycarboxylic acid ester, and an acrylic plasticizer), and 0 to 100 parts by weight of (E) a filler or reinforcing agent (such as a glass fiber), relative to 100 parts by weight of (A) a polybutylene terephthalate-series resin (a homopolyester or a copolyester). The molded product prepared from the resin composition has a small light transmittance fluctuation range depending on sites to be irradiated of the molded product. Thus, the molded product can be bonded to a counter part article uniformly by a laser welding.

Resin composition for laser welding and molded article

The present invention provides a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition which has an excellent vibration welding performance, an excellent resistance to heat shock, and is useful for a case, housing and the like of electric/electronic parts. Specifically, it provides a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition for vibration welding comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of a polybutylene terephthalate resin; (B) 20 to 100 parts by weight of a modified polyester copolymer containing 5 to 30% by mole of a comonomer; (C) 5 to 30 parts by weight of an elastomer selected from an acrylic-based copolymer having a glycidyl group and/or an &#x3b1;-olefin.&#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid (ester).&#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid glycidylester-based ternary polymer; and (D) 60 to 150 parts by weight of a glass fiber.

Polybutylene terephthalate resin composition for vibration welding

A laser weldable PBT-series resin composition comprises a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)-series resin (A), and at least one resin (B) selected from the group consisting of a polycarbonate-series resin (b1), a styrenic resin (b2), a polyethylene terephthalate-series resin (b3) and an acrylic resin (b4). The PBT-series resin (A) may be a PBT homopolyester, or a PBT-series copolymer modified with not more than 30 mol % of a copolymerizable monomer (e.g., a bisphenol compound or an adduct thereof with an alkylene oxide, and an asymmetrical aromatic dicarboxylic acid). The ratio (weight ratio) of the resin (B) relative to the PBT-series resin (A) [the former/the latter] is about 0.1/1 to 1.5/1. The resin composition may comprise a glass fiber. The resin composition is excellent in laser weldability, and can improve in welding strength of a shaped article formed from the resin composition.

The polyester resin composition of the present invention comprises (A) a thermoplastic polyester resin, (B) an olefinic polymer modified with at least one member selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and its derivative, and (C) an aliphatic ester having a molecular weight of 400 to 1,000. The polyester resin of the present invention may comprises: (D) a flame retardant, (E) an inorganic flame retardant auxiliary, and others. The thermoplastic polyester resin composition is useful for the fabrication of sliding members (particularly, gears). Polyester resin compositions with improved dimensional accuracy and sliding properties and shaped articles formed therefrom can be obtained from the resin composition of the present invention.

Polyester resin composition

To provide a polyacetal resin composition excellent in friction and abrasion resistance properties by improving the compatibility, dispersibility and interfacial adhesion between the polyacetal resin and an olefinic polymer. The polyacetal resin composition comprises: (A) 100 parts by weight of a polyacetal resin; (B) 0.5 to 100 parts by weight of a specified, modified olefinic polymer; (C) 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of an alkylene glycol polymer containing a primary or secondary amino group(s) and having a number-average molecular weight of 400 to 500,000; and (D) 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of an inorganic filler.

Polyacetal resin composition

Self-lubricating polyacetal resin compositions and molded articles (e.g. 'wear parts') formed thereof include a polyacetal base resin, and a self-lubricating effective amount of a silica powder in which a silicone polymer (e.g. silicone oil) is absorbed. The silica powder acts as a carrier for the silicone polymer so as to improve the dispersibility of the silicone polymer in the polyacetal base resin as well as to allow greater silicone polymer 'loading' of the polyacetal base resin. As a result, improved lubricant dispersibility and sliding characteristics are achieved.

Self-lubricated polyacetal molding compositions and molded articles

Polyacetal resin molding compositions and sliding members formed thereof exhibit anti-friction and abrasion-resistance properties. The polyacetal resin molding compositions include (A) 100 parts by weight of a polyacetal base resin, (B) between 0.5 to 40 parts by weight of a branched or cross-linked graft copolymer which is a graft-reaction product of (a) an olefin polymer, and (b) a vinyl or ether polymer, (C) between 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of a lubricant, and (D) between 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of an inorganic powder having a mean particle diameter of 50 .mu.m or less and a content of particles having a particle diameter of 100 .mu.m or less of at least 95%.
