Provided is a strain sensor unit that enables inhibition of a positional deviation of a strain sensor. The strain sensor unit includes: a substrate that is stretchable; at least one strip-shaped or string-shaped strain sensor that is arranged on the substrate along a direction of stretching and contracting of the substrate; and a deformation restraining member that is arranged in proximity to longitudinal end portions of the at least one strain sensor respectively, to extend in a direction intersecting a longitudinal direction of the strain sensor, and restrains deformation of the substrate.

Provided is a filamentous strain sensor element capable of detecting a relatively great tensile strain. The strain sensor element of which resistance value changes in response to stretch and to contraction in a longitudinal direction, includes: a first conductive portion that is filamentous and formed from a carbon nanotube bundle; and a second conductive portion that covers a peripheral surface of the first conductive portion and is elastic and conductive, in which the first conductive portion is discontinuous at one or a plurality of positions.

Strain sensor element

Provided is a data glove which imparts little discomfort when worn, and is capable of accurately detecting movement of a hand. The data glove includes a glove main body and a plurality of strain sensors which are disposed on the dorsal side of the glove main body in regions corresponding to at least one finger, and which detect stretch and contraction of the glove main body. The strain sensors preferably include two strain sensors which are disposed on the dorsal side of the glove main body to correspond respectively to a proximal interphalangeal joint and a metacarpophalangeal joint of at least one finger of the second through fifth fingers, and which detect stretch and contraction of the glove main body in a proximal-distal direction. The data glove preferably further includes a plurality of stretch prevention parts which limit the elongation of the glove main body.

A strain sensor provided with a substrate that has flexibility; a carbon nanotube (CNT) film that is provided on the surface of the substrate and that has a plurality of CNT fibers oriented in one direction; and a pair of electrodes that are arranged at both ends in the orientation direction of the CNT fibers in the CNT film; in which the CNT film has a plurality of CNT fiber bundles that consist of the plurality of CNT fibers, and a resin layer that covers the peripheral surface of the plurality of the CNT fiber bundles and joins with the surface of the substrate.

Strain sensor

A strain sensor includes a flexible substrate, a CNT film made of a plurality of CNT fibers aligned in an orientation direction, a pair of electrodes, and a protective coat. The electrodes are formed at the opposite ends of the CNT film in a perpendicular direction to the orientation direction of the CNT fibers. The protective coat protecting the CNT film is made of a resin, a water-based emulsion, or an oil-based emulsion. The protective coat is placed in contact with at least part of the CTN fibers on the surface of the CNT film. The strain sensor including the protective coat is able to prevent damage/breakage of the CNT film and to prevent foreign matters from entering into gaps between CNT fibers, thus improving durability in maintaining adequate sensing functionality.

A method for manufacturing a vehicle power transmission device having a case and a ring gear fitted to the outer peripheral surface of the case to transmit drive power from a drive source. The method includes: a welding step in which an annular flange is provided on the case or the ring gear and butt welding is performed by lapping a weld bead along the contact portion of one side surface of the annular flange and the case or the ring gear; a measurement step in which the outline of the other side surface of the annular flange placed in close proximity to the one side surface are measured; and an evaluation step in which a weld condition is evaluated based on part of the outline, which is determined in the measurement step, of a portion corresponding to the lapping portion of the weld bead.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing vehicle power transmission device

A bi-fuel engine is equipped with an engine body, a plurality of branched intake pipes, a surge tank, and an air cleaner. Each of the branched intake pipes has a length including a slant portion and a bend. The bend is located on the side of the engine body and connects at an end to the slant portion and at the other end to a downstream end of the branched intake pipe. The slant portion extends from the bend to the upstream end of the branched intake pipe obliquely to a horizontal direction of the engine body so as to define between the surge tank and an upper portion of the engine body a space which is large enough to permit a cylinder head cover to be installed to and uninstalled from the upper portion of the engine body.

A semiconductor package has a substrate made of WCu, WAg, MoCu or MoAg. A plurality of leads are fixed to the substrate by hermetic sealing without an intervening nickel plating layer. A cover is bonded to the substrate with a seal ring which is directly bonded to the substrate by brazing without an intervening nickel plating layer. The leads are nickel plated and gold plated after hermetic sealing, and the seal ring is nickel plated and gold plated after brazing. Even though the substrate is made of a metal alloy, this arrangement provides the package with a high degree of air tightness.

Semiconductor package and method for manufacturing the same

An optical component comprises an optical transmission element (e.g., an optical lens) whose circumferential wall partially joins a metal holder via a joining material (e.g., a low melting point glass), wherein stress is normally applied to the optical transmission element in a compression direction when joining the metal holder. The optical transmission element is inserted into a through hole of the metal holder, and the joining material is kept in a bank actualized by a tapered portion formed in proximity to one end of the through hole of the metal holder. This prevents tensile stress from being applied to the optical transmission element; thus, it is possible to avoid the occurrence of cracks and separations in the optical transmission element; and it is possible to avoid the occurrence of errors in optical characteristics, regardless of variations of the environmental temperature, so that, the optical component is improved in reliability.

An optical component composite body is obtained in which there is no damage to the optical component even when it is bonded to a metal holder by solder or low melting point glass. The metal holder of the present invention is provided with a mounting portion protruding from one side of the main body and a grasping portion protruding from the other side of the main body. The mounting portion is provided with a plurality of protrusions formed in a comb tooth configuration. An optical component formed from alumina (AlO) is bonded by solder to a bonding surface of a protrusion, another optical component formed from LiNbOis bonded by solder to a bonding surface of another protrusion, and a further optical component formed from YVOis bonded by solder to a bonding surface of a further protrusion.

A heat radiator for dissipating heat from an electronic device, which is mounted on a board or which is installed in a casing, to the outside thereof is basically composed of a substrate having plenty of through holes, which are produced by press molding and sintering. The substrate having a low thermal expansion coefficient is made of a copper-tungsten alloy or a copper-molybdenum alloy in which the copper content is smaller than the tungsten content or molybdenum content. The through holes each having a circular shape or a rectangular shape are infiltrated with the compound having a high thermal conductivity and composed of a copper-tungsten alloy or a copper-molybdenum alloy in which the copper content is greater than the tungsten content or molybdenum content. Thus, the heat radiator allows thermal conduction along axial directions of the through holes while substantially avoiding unwanted thermal expansion thereof.
